Did Tony Soprano lose a cap? James Gandolfini initially kept his mouth shot on the red carpet of Cinema Verite, his new HBO movie about proto-reality stars the Loud family, but the presence of so many ladyfriends (co-star Diane Lane, Sopranos buddy Lorraine Bracco and Hope Davis and Marcia Gay Harden of God Of Carnage) made it impossible for him to keep a straight face, forcing him to reveal a broken tooth. Aww, don’t be bashful, James! It’s cute—and easily fixable.

We love a hard-partying juicy story from the past, and this one made our ears prick up like Legolas from LOTR. The fact that Jon Bon Jovi dated Diane Lane back in 1985 totally skipped our pop culture radar. In our defense, we were two years old at the time.
All the dirty deets are in Bon Jovi‘s ex tour manager, Rich Bozzet‘s book, originally titled, “Sex, Drugs and Bon Jovi“. So Rich… what’s the book about, huh? His story is that Jon and Diane were like this tight and loving it up, but unfortunately she was also getting this tight with the band’s guitarist, Richie Sambora. An excerpt reads, “The very thing that made Jon feel so passionate toward Diane Lane in the first place ended up being the reason for their sudden, unceremonious breakup.”
Another passages spells it out: “Diane was young and wild and loved to party. But she loved to party so much that Jon caught her partying with Richie Sambora. That wasn’t a good day for Jon’s relationship with Diane, to say nothing of Jon-Richie relations.” So as we know, Jon ended up going back to his old flame Dorothea Hurley, and they got married in 1989, while Diane eventually ended up with Josh Brolin.
But what we want to know is, “…caught her partying with…” means what exactly? Taking the book’s title into consideration it could mean a lot, so maybe we’ll just leave “partying” in quotation marks and let our imagination run free.

The math isn’t perfect—you have to skip his TV movies, short films and anthology works like New York Stories (or keep New York Stories and skip the redubbed Japanese movie What’s Up Tiger Lily?)—but You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger is arguably the 40th feature full-length directed by Woody Allen. It’s an especially impressive feat considering he’s been directing for less than 50 years—the 74-year-old hasn’t gone a year without a film since 1981!
Though Stranger star Antonio Banderas was too busy pimping the latest Shrek in LA to celebrate with the Woodster at Cannes, co-stars like Josh Brolin and Naomi Watts were in attendance for this weekend’s premiere, along with well-wishers ranging from Diane Lane to Evangeline Lilly to Jean Claude Van Damme. See what everyone wore in the gallery below.
