Kate! We have to get back to the weekend, before we heard all these horrible allegations about Matthew Fox! While you were getting sunburned in a hammock, Lost actor Dominic Monaghan was on Twitter accusing former costar Matthew Fox of violence toward women. “he beats women. No thanks.” the FlashForward actor replied when asked to pester Fox to get on Twitter. When an outraged fan asked how he could make such claims considering all the good times they must have had on the set of Lost (note: people on Twitter be crazy!), Monaghan tweeted, “how do you know we ever did?you don’t know either of us.he beats women.not isolated incidents.often.not interested.” Oh, well, if it was isolated incidents, that would be totally different! Horrible, horrible different!
TMZ reported today that “sources close to” Fox have denied the charges, but the actor has yet to issue a statement himself. This isn’t the only cringe-worthy part of Fox’s life recently; in addition to a DUI arrest earlier this month, the Alex Cross actor was also accused of, well, punching a female bus driver in the groin late last year. Hey, maybe at the end of this feud, we’ll find out we were all dead this whole time and this beef never happened? And then we’re in a church for some reason? Oh, you’re right. That would make literally no sense.

Remember how Scarlett Johansson told Flare magazine that she was the “only girl in the film,” and that she is “obviously going to be more aware that I’m surrounded by a bunch of suits. Everybody is going to be wearing black and grey and it will be nice to add femininity and some female sex appeal to the lineup. I think I’ll steer clear of the tuxedo”? She was talking, of course, about her film The Avengers, which premiered last night in L.A. And no matter how much “female sex appeal” she brought, the men were the clear winners of this round.
Scarlett herself wore a little black dress by Versace which we’re still trying to love, but all eyes were on the dudes. Robert Downey Jr. was flamboyant in an eggplant suit while Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans and Jeremy Renner were all sharp in different shades of gray. Alexander Skarsgard looked totally hot in a black suit, sans tie and white shirt and was accompanied by his father, Stellan Skarsgard. Samuel L. Jackson brought on his A-game in white. A smattering of other celebrities attended as well, and to see what Aisha Tyler, Mark Ruffalo, Dominic Monaghan and such wore, take a look at our gallery below.

For years, the show Entourage has confused us. Main character Vincent Chase and his lovable gang of loser sidekicks hang around in L.A., living off of Vinnie’s multi-million dollar salary because he is the Leo DiCaprio of this fictional world, the A-list actor everyone loves. And yet Adrian Grenier, the actor who plays the perpetually laid-back and unshaven Vinnie, is not. Grenier is B-list or maybe even C-list when it comes to his fame, not even coming close to the superhero roles Vinnie gets (remember the time he was Anne Hathaway‘s boyfriend in The Devil Wears Prada? We barely do either!) I mean, how bad is it that the guy playing his agent is more famous than he is in real life?
So with the premiere of the new season of Entourage and poor Adrian/Vinnie as our inspiration, we thought of ten other actors who sadly are not nearly as famous as the roles they play on TV and in the movies. We have hope that some of them will someday make it to the big time, but unfortunately, for some others, the time seems to have passed. Click through our gallery to see the actors who wish they were their on-screen counterparts.
The Lord Of the Rings trilogy was one of the most successful film franchises of all time – the three films won 17 Academy Awards and are some of the highest-grossing movies ever. Not bad for one of your first jobs, but in Dominic Monaghan‘s case, it led to some pressure and anxiety.
Monaghan says that after the first Rings movie was released in 2001, he started to struggle with his fame. “It was hard – I had a tough year, I had a tough year and a half. Kind of too much drinking. Too many late nights hanging out with the wrong women – maybe the right women but at the wrong time. Kind of going off the rails a little bit.” Monaghan has cleaned up nicely – nice enough to have been cast in Lost as soon as LoTR wrapped. (And will he return to the show as everyone’s favorite heroin addict, Charlie? Outlook good, says the Magic (not drug-related) 8 Ball.)
Monaghan, who is now 31, explained of his bad behavior, “I think maybe I had to do that personally to get over the rollercoaster ride that Lord Of The Rings was.” [Photo: GettyImages]
