Happy Endings is a wonderful little show filled to the brim with pop culture references, bad hair, and Bar mitzvah dancers. Its abrupt cancellation in May 2013 temporarily robbed us of a reason to live simply because of the fact that there’ll be no new jokes from Max and Penny or traditional Serbian folk dance performances by the Kerkovich sisters. But fear not! The series has since been resurrected right here on VH1, and its creators and stars are all over TV and film in 2014.
Black reinstated itself as the it color at VH1 Divas last night at the Shrine Auditorium in L.A. It had been relegated into the shadows thanks to the summer brights trend over the last few months. It was the shade to wear as evident by the evidence on the red carpet and on stage! Stacy Keibler wore it via a Monique Lhullier skintight suit and Jimmy Choo shoes, while Keri Hilson took it on through a Pucci jumpsuit, Christian Louboutin shoes while blinging up with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Demi Lovato wore black with a sweet Topshop dress with lace overlay shoulders while Miley Cyrus not only wore it with lots of metal embellishments on stage, but also as she arrived, in a sexy cut-out Omo by Norma Kamali dress. It’s like those two were at opposite ends of the spectrum with Demi being sugar and Miley being the spice! Ciara was sleek and sexy in a sequined Pamella Roland gown and that’s not all. Jordin Sparks, NeNe Leakes, Amber Riley, Elisha Cuthbert and more wore black to the show making it the biggest trend of the night. These polls are about as accurate as Britney Spears‘ grasp of geography, but what the hey – British beauty Cheryl Cole has been voted the Sexiest Woman In The World by FHM readers. She nudged out Transformers sexbomb Megan Fox into second place, who won the poll last year. The only other Brits in the top ten were Page 3 topless model Keeley Hazell (probably for her political insight) and actress Anna Friel. Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto made a respectable debut at no. 10, although some surprising ladies failed to chart, like Paris Hilton and Jennifer Lopez. [Photos: WireImage]
Former New York Ranger Sean Avery (currently with the Dallas Stars) has been booted indefinitely from the NHL after he made insulting and derogatory comments about his two famous ex-girlfriends, actress Elisha Cuthbert and model Rachel Hunter. Cuthbert is now dating Calgary Flames player Dion Phaneuf (Hunter is currently shacking up with a player on the L.A. Kings), and Avery decided to bash Phaneuf in his home rink, while warming up on the ice before the Stars battled the Flames. “I’m really happy to be back in Calgary; I love Canada,” Avery sneered. “I just want to comment on how it’s become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don’t know what that’s about. Enjoy the game tonight.”
Avery, who interned at Vogue this summer, has an established reputation as a trouble-maker (in one game last year he waved his hands in a goalie’s face to distract him in a game, and he’s been linked to notorious madame Kristin Davis) and the NHL jumped on the chance to punish him. We imagine his sloppy seconds are thrilled with the outcome. [Photo: WireImage]
