It was in the 50s and raining today in London, which sounds pretty typical, right? And also, really uncomfortable if A) you’re a fan who has been staying overnight to catch the Hunger Games: Catching Fire premiere, or B) you’re one of the movie’s stars trying to be fashionable in a flimsy gown and not-so-sensible shoes. Both parties were still totally happy to see each other, though Donald Sutherland did cut his live streamed interview short, complaining that his feet were cold. Jennifer Lawrence, thankfully, put on her coat for her interview, happily discovering, as she told Yahoo!, that she found two Mentos in her pocket! We’re happy that the stars are willing to suffer for their fans and fashion, but we couldn’t help but caption the above photos with the thoughts we imagine were running through their heads. Not one of which, we assume, was, “Why London?”
Why is this cool even though we realize it’s a marketing tool? Because it’s a pretty cool marketing tool and because anything to do with The Hunger Games makes us salivate. Admit it, you’re as curious about the Capitol Portraits as we are. A new “portrait” will be released intermittently until Catching Fire releases in November. And judging by the name, they will all be portraits of members of the Capitol. The series kicks off with a striking image of Elizabeth Banks‘ character, Effie Trinket and the look seems to be far more stylized than the previous film. Besides, we’re totally digging the saturated, yet vintage feel of this portrait. Any guesses to who’ll be next? Seneca Crane? Caeser Flickerman?

Everyone knows that Kristen Stewart is a huge fan of sneakers. And if you don’t believe us, head to the gallery below for proof! But could her favorite footwear have played a part on accepting her next big screen role? Stranger things have happened.
Just in time for Martin Luther King Day, we have for you an exclusive red band trailer of the movie specifically designed to offend people of all races, creeds and sexual orientation, Movie 43. In the most hilarious way, of course, because that was MLK Jr.’s dream, right? When the first trailer came out, we pointed out the things we couldn’t help but laugh at, even though we knew we really shouldn’t. This new trailer includes many of those again — Anna Faris‘ indecent proposal to Chris Pratt, Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber bullying their home-schooled teen, Terrence Howard’s totally racist basketball coaching technique — and a couple of other jems, namely:
- Kieran Culkin and Emma Stone debating which of the Golden Girls was “the slutty one.”
- Elizabeth Banks pointing out to Josh Duhamel that their cartoon cat masturbates to pictures of him.
Ew. But jeez, can you blame him?

It’s not easy to pull off red felt and white fur, but there are a few lucky celebrities out there that manage to look hot in it regardless! Yes, it’s Christmas yet again, the time of the year where we prepare for a large bearded man to break into our homes as we sleep. Wouldn’t it be so much cooler if, for example, Katy Perry were to come down our chimney instead? Or Beyonce?! When famous folks dress up as Santa Claus, it provides a really interesting/weird alternate reality holiday. Or the beginning of a festive porno, depending on how you look at it. Head on down to the gallery below to see 30 Santa’s whose laps you definitely wouldn’t mind sitting on! From Victoria’s Secret Angels like Gisele Bundchen, Heidi Klum and Barbara Palvin, to divas like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Mariah Carey. So step right up and check out the gallery of the ho-ho-hottest Santas around! It’s not only sexy, it’s tradition!

We may not have the big bucks to get the fancy blowouts celebrities get done by the best hairstylists, but there’s at least one thing we can get that puts us in the same league. Hair accessories, which have been huge this year! Floral head-pieces, sparkling stars, crystal hair-bows, and minimal metallic headbands have been all the rage and spotted on the likes of Katy Perry, Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Jennifer Lawrence. And plenty more, but we’ve culled out our top 15 looks for you out of all of 2012.
A couple of stand-outs for us. Sarah Jessica Parker‘s custom Mickey Mouse ears made by L’Wren Scott, worn when she hosted the Barneys New York And Disney Electric Holiday Window Unveiling in November, were to die for. Emma Stone‘s delicate gold Jennifer Behr laurel leaf bandeaux worn at the The Amazing Spider-Man premiere at Oktyabr cinema hall in Moscow in June had us floored. Chloe Moretz also wore a darling crystal hair-bow at the National Board of Review Awards gala in January that wasn’t just age-appropriate. We insist it’s appropriate for every age. Which means a 30-year-old woman (i.e. this writer) gets to wear one and not feel like we’re edging in on a 14-year-old’s style territory! Feel free to pore through our gallery for the rest of the looks!

Congrats to Elizabeth Banks and husband Max Handelman, who just welcomed their second son, Magnus Mitchell Handelman, via gestational surrogate. “Magnus joins older brother Felix, thus commencing a decade or more of close hand to hand combat,” Banks wrote on her blog, announcing the news. Is it us, or do those sound like names straight out of Panem? Now we’re dying to see the boys dressed up as Capitol citizens. But we’re also glad that they’re not actually being raised by Effie Trinket, who would probably freak with two toddlers in her house.
BTW, as celebrity bloggers, we kind of love the element of surprise when there’s a surrogate involved. We had no idea Elizabeth was juggling the stresses of expecting a baby with producing and starring in Pitch Perfect, filming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, campaigning for President Obama’s reelection, running her awesome blog and I’m sure a million other creative endeavors. She explained why she and her husband had to turn to a surrogate in an interview with Lucky last year. “It was a womb issue for me. Embryos wouldn’t implant,” she told the magazine. Read more…
We’ve spent all of our spare time in the past couple of weeks obsessively Googling the Pitch Perfect cast, until it dawned on us that we could channel all this useless knowledge into an actual blog post. Thus, here we are, presenting you with the 10 very useful bits of surprising trivia you will definitely want to know after seeing Pitch Perfect.
If there’s one trend we’ve been spotting taking over red carpets in 2012 alone, it’s been the juicy summer brights look. We’ve been happy to see every shade of orange and yellow seep onto a variety of silhouettes over the year, from the very start of January. The Oscars, the Met Ball, the Golden Globes and the big premieres — hello, The Hunger Games — all had these shades represented by actresses who are not afraid to embrace the bright side. The Met Ball alone really took care of this huge trend with a number of actresses choosing orange like Kristen Bell and Emma Roberts. Solange Knowles and January Jones really took care of the yellow spectrum. Some celebrities have been more courageous than others, wearing brights on numerous occasions. Like, Viola Davis, Nicole Richie and Elizabeth Banks. Each of those lovely ladies is represented in our exhaustive gallery of 25 pictures below. This collection comprises our favorite looks — all worn this year, from January onwards — which are all either orange or yellow, keeping the trend in mind. You’ll also see where exactly they were worn, in case you want to do a little digging on your own. Knock yourselves out on these punchy shades and tell us whose design you liked best!

Oh man, this has hit plenty of people pretty hard. Amazing screenwriter, director, author and three-time Oscar winner Nora Ephron died of leukemia last night at 71. Where would movie history be without classics like Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally and You’ve Got Mail? Not only was she a genius in the romantic-comedy genre, but she could also write a hell of a drama— Silkwood. She could write beautifully, period. Her essay collection I Feel Bad About My Neck is also evidence of that.
Considering her career spanned decades, she also ended up inspiring many generations of stars, and made some very close friends in the business, along the way. They’re all grieving over her sudden, sad passing. Close pal, Meryl Streep, told the New York Times, “You could call on her for anything: doctors, restaurants, recipes, speeches, or just a few jokes, and we all did it, constantly. She was an expert in all the departments of living well.” There have also been a series of tweets from a diverse selection of celebrities, all expressing their sorrow. Steve Martin wrote, “She was the one you wanted to read, to listen to, to be in the company of. Nora Ephron. Incomparable wit; delightful friend. Sadness reigns.” One of the younger celebrities, inspired by her career, Kaley Cuoco has tweeted, “RIP Nora Ephron Loved her work Loved her direction Loved her writing Blessings and thoughts to her family.”
We have a selection of tweets after the jump from people like Bette Midler, Jessica Biel, Debra Messing, Russell Simmons and Sarah Silverman. Justin Timberlake‘s tweet is right below. Our sincere condolences go out to her family and friends. She sounded like one incredible lady.
