How did we come up with this list of 30 best dressed stars for 2011? Many hours of poring through pictures of premieres, award shows, concerts, events … you name it, we saw it. We also think it’s a pretty diverse list covering our favorites and yours. Will you vote for bombshells like Jennifer Lopez or Sofia Vergara, whose Modern Family co-star, Sarah Hyland, has also made it onto the polls. Or for gamine pixies like Zooey Deschanel, Michelle Williams and Carey Mulligan? If you prefer the ingenues, then Chloe Moretz, Hailee Steinfeld and Jennifer Lawrence are on the list as well. The best clotheshorses in H’town are included and they’re the type who look perfectly at home (translation: drop dead gorgeous) in designer wear. We’re talking about women like  Anne Hathaway, Zoe Saldana, Olivia Wilde, Amber Heard, Mila Kunis and Blake Lively. The latter’s new boyfriend’s ex, Scarlett Johansson is up for the win, making this an interesting face-off!
You should have a heads up that there are a couple of duos in there, and we’re sorry in advance for making you choose between them. We have the two Emmas — Emma Watson and Emma Stone. There are the Twilight hotties — Kristen Stewart and Ashley Greene. The television cuties — Lea Michele and Nina Dobrev. The yummy mummies (one is currently pregnant and one gave birth earlier this year) — Beyonce and Jessica Alba. And of course, the sunshine blondes — Cameron Diaz and Reese Witherspoon. We know, it’s really hard! What’s even harder is choosing between the trio of besties — Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift. And finally, rounding up the list, standing tall and very royal is the newly minted Duchess, who hasn’t made a sartorial step wrong all year, Kate Middleton.
So, there you have it. A very fashionable 30. What we need you to do, now, is click after the jump and check out our massive gallery and vote in the poll we’ve got below it. We’ve even got 3-in-1 pictures so you have more outfits to look at! Vote, vote, vote! Read more…

Fans waited days for the chance to meet Hermione AKA Emma Watson at the UK Premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II. [Photo: Splash News Online]
So, it’s pretty clear we all love Emma Watson, right? Anything we say about her which has a negative tilt is more like constructive criticism rather than a b—chfest.  Let the record clearly state that. We showed Emma immense love in that Oscar de la Renta gown at the London premiere of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2. It was dreamy and walked the exact line between frou-frou and couture which is like, our favourite line to walk.
Whereas Emma’s London look was Swan Lake, Emma’s New York look is more Black Swan, if you get our drift. Look at that make-up? It’s those black and gold-leaf eyes! We can get on board with it, because it’s edgy and she balanced it out with a nude mouth and slicked back hair. The minimal jewelry helps too and Emma’s bone structure will lend itself to any style she chooses to experiment with. That’s make-up and hair we’re talking about folks, because as hard as we’ve been trying, we can’t get on board with her gown. It’s Bottega Veneta and we get where she’s trying to go with it. We even dig the textured, frayed, fitted bodice. It’s that draped skirt that has us all meh. That fabric — which wrinkles super easy too, as you can see —  and those folds look good only when arranged perfectly and at certain angles. Otherwise the skirt tends to look like an over ambitious napkin.
The Deathly Hallows premiered in New York last night and we couldn’t help but sniff a little looking at all the pictures. Each premiere means we’re inching gradually towards the end. A lot of the tertiary characters didn’t show up for the event but our main squeezes did. After wearing a dreamy Oscar de la Renta to the London premiere, Emma Watson chose a Bottega Veneta gown, Giuseppe Zanotti platform peep toe heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewelry for the NYC leg. We’re not totally feeling the look and the harsh make-up, but more on that in our next post. Not much smiling from Emma at this one. She looks like she’s taking this quite emotionally, and we don’t blame her.
Props to Daniel Radcliffe for turning up in Prada as well!  Completely the trio was Rupert Grint who cleaned up quite nicely in his suit as well. He also looked like he had taken a brush to his hair and what a difference that made! Alan Rickman — possibly one of our favorite actors and the only one who could pull off Severus Snape — looked as cool as cool could be. Pulling up the handsome quotient were Tom Felton and Matt Lewis aka Draco Malfoy and Neville Longbottom. Growing up has agreed with these two. A couple of celebrities also turned up for the premiere. Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker brought their son, James Wilkie. (Note to SJP: Stop putting your son in twee hats.) America Ferrera brought new husband Ryan Piers Williams. Sarah Hyland showed up looking lovely in an LBD, and our happy WTF of the day was Jay Manuel! All-in-all, a pretty successful premiere.

How terrific does Emma Watson look here? Notice the darker hair? We think the color works on her so well. The 21-year-old actress posed at a photo call for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2 at The Renaissance St Pancras Hotel in London yesterday. The Rafael Lopez dress she chose is flounced and fab and for some strange reason gives us flashbacks of the dress Emma wore at …the Deathly Hallows — Part 1 premiere last year in London! Maybe she wanted some sort of continuity?
We know Lopez’s frock is going to inspire either extreme love of hate, because in our experience, people have strong reactions to a good ruffle. And considering that’s exactly what the hemline is, we’re guessing folks may not fancy it too much. But they should — because it’s a lovely, lovely dress. Emma’s worn them with a pair of pretty, appropriate black Chanel pumps. Everything matches!

Emma Watson is just breathtaking in these Mariano Vivanco portrait shots. We can’t get over how chic she looks. The photo shoot happened two months ago, and we’re totally down with this Emma-Mariano collaboration that seems to be slowly making its way all over the internet. There’s also a long interview by University Magazine accompanying the images in which the actress talks about just about everything, especially university, and saying goodbye to the character of Hermoine Granger.
We love what she says about cutting off all her hair, which was a pretty gusty move. She revealed, “With short hair you’ve got to be a bit bolder, there’s nothing to hide behind. So it’s made me be bolder in my fashion choices. It’s actually made me more confident as a person I think. I’m not sure why that is. But it has.” We agree wholeheartedly. Emma’s Vogue cover shows just how secure she is with how she looks. We would be too, with that face!

Emma Watson is not “intimidating”, dudes. And she needs you to man up and ask her out. In an interview with the Sunday Times Style Magazine, Emma said that being famous, gorgeous and extremely rich makes men quake in their boots. Ok, she didn’t say it exactly like that. Because apart from being famous, gorgeous and extremely rich, she’s also modest. But Emma did say, “It must be the fame wall. It must be the circus that goes around me. Me, as a person, I find it hard to believe I would be intimidating.” And all she’s asking of you, men, is just to “Be brave” and go for it. Which we agree with, because imagine if she said yes? She could! There’s a .0001% chance, but grab it anyway!
Emma also spoke about certain twits who decide to act too cool for school because they’re with “Emma Watson”. She revealed, “Sometimes, perhaps because they are intimidated, they feel they have to knock me down. They know perfectly well who I am, but say, ‘How are the Narnia films going’?” Morons. You don’t want to be going with that sort anyway, Emma.

The lovely Emma Watson has been named as the new face of Lancome. And we think that’s an absolutely brilliant move because face it, anything that girl touches turns to gold. The French beauty giants have been represented in the past by actresses like Julia Roberts, Uma Thurman and Juliette Binoche. But with Miss Hermione Granger on board, a whole new demographic could open up. Which includes us, because we always associated Lancome with our Moms.
Emma may be young, but she’s already got modeling and designing experience under her belt. She starred in some memorable Burberry campaigns and has an eco-friendly clothing line for People Tree. It’s enough to make anyone feel like a chronic underachiever. What were we doing at the age of 20? Yeah… nothing. Emma’s going to be photographed by legendary lensman Mario Testino and will appear in a slew of television and print advertisements. She commented, “It’s so exciting, I can’t wait to start shooting. Although I don’t wear much make-up, I’m a big fan of Lancome products, especially their mascara.” Oh come on…she has to say that because she’s representing them now. It’s her job to shill them! Not that Emma needs any make-up. Oh to be a successful, rich, gorgeous 20 year old.

Let’s give the British Academy of Film And Television Arts awards show its due, people. Yes, we know the Grammy‘s were on yesterday, but the BAFTA’s are a pretty big deal too! And can we just say how pleased we are that Colin Firth won best actor for The King’s Speech! We kinda love him here at the FABLife, so much so that we have a full gallery dedicated to Firth’s open-shirted sexiness (photos).
You can check out the full list of BAFTA winners here, but let’s get down to the really important stuff: who rocked the red carpet? Can we just say right in the beginning that J.K Rowling, taking a page out of the House of Slytherin, and wearing a python-print Lanvin halter-necked gown totally surprised us! Ssss-izzling! Lucky Julianne Moore wore a midnight blue Tom Ford velvet gown with a gorgeous bow detail at the back. Ford was also Julianne’s date for the night! Other best dressed stars included Jessica Alba in a flowing Atelier Versace, and the always lovely Emma Watson in Valentino. Want to know who else made the list? You’ll just have to check out the gallery below.
