Each year the Emmy Awards pay tribute to the finest acting that graced the small screen that season. But let’s not forget: it’s also home to the time-honored tradition known as the TV Death Montage. Yes, there is no better way to honor recently deceased television legends than to throw together a sappy video project in iMovie. It’s great that we take a moment to mourn these great actors, actresses and industry titans, but what about all of the OTHER stuff we lost on television this season? (SPOILERS AHEAD)
This is possibly one of the weirder lawsuits around. Last year, in December we posted about how a giant eucalyptus tree fell into Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart‘s home in Beverly Hills. L.A winds were reaching almost 100 mph at the time, and luckily, even though the couple were at home with their daughter, Billy Beatrice, no one was hurt. Rebecca had to visit the doctor the next day for a check-up as she was heavily pregnant at the time. It was all good, the fetus was fine and she ended up giving birth later that month, on the 28th to a daughter they named Georgia Geraldine. So that’s the last we expected to hear about the incident, nasty and stressful as it was. Not quite, because the fallen tree and the damage caused is now being linked to their very famous neighbor, Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins. The couple are taking him to court — they’ve already filed the suit at the L.A. County Superior Court — because it was his tree that fell on their home! Not kidding, guys. They’re suing for nuisance, negligence, and injunctive relief. Dr. McSteamy Eric claims that he had warned Billy about the fact that the tree was a danger to everyone, and that Billy did nothing about it. Billy tells TMZ, “I was horrified when I learned about the tree falling during what was a massive storm, a storm with winds strong enough to uproot a 50 ft tree by its base! Thankfully no one was injured.” He says that he’s had any similar “dangerous” trees on his property assessed and uprooted by an expert but to be sued for an act of nature is “a shame … because [Eric and Rebecca] are nice people.” Warranted lawsuit or unnecessary — you decide.
Thankfully, everyone is OK. The photograph on the right is of a giant eucalyptus tree that toppled over into Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart‘s home in Beverly Hills. This happened late Wednesday night, when L.A winds were reaching almost 100 mph. The couple was home with their daughter when the tree fell, but luckily no one was hurt. The photograph on the right is of a very pregnant Rebecca heading to the doctor’s office the next day, as she reportedly felt ill after the incident. It’s probably the shock of having a gigantic tree slam into your house while you’re in it.
Why must our TV boyfriends mess up our fantasies with their real-life human problems? People reports that Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane is headed to rehab, and we highly doubt there are enough sexy drug counselors there to keep us happy. Said the actor’s rep in a statement, “Actor Eric Dane voluntarily checked himself into a treatment facility to help him get off of pain medication that he was prescribed for a sports injury that he suffered over the recent hiatus. He reports back to work next week. Business as usual. Out of rehab by next week? Even Grey’s would give him a longer story arc, and that show went off the rails three seasons ago.
That being said, we always support celebrities not being addicted to things, and this is still less disappointing than McSteamy’s sex tape scandal with wife Rebecca Gayheart and former Miss Teen USA Kari Ann Peniche. We wanted fresh rose petals and sumptuous mood lighting, not a threesome picking out porn names before taking a nap! Thank the lord Dane still has those piercing eyes, or else we’d have to pick another fictional doctor to neurotically obsess over.
Rebecca Gayheart and Eric Dane have made it obvious that they like the presence of a third person in their company, and with the birth of their new daughter, they get what they’ve always wanted. We’re ashamed to have likened this happy occasion to a threesome, by the way, but it was too good to pass up.
Yesterday it was reported that “Grey’s Anatomy” star Eric Dane and his wife Rebecca Gayheart have a sex tape, but today, additional details have emerged. The latest info is that the tape is actually footage of three people, and the third party is former Miss Teen USA, Kari Ann Peniche. Peniche had been storing the video on her computer hard drive, but she claims the footage was stolen and leaked. Dane’s lawyer downplays the steamy details, saying, “This is simply a private, consensual moment involving a married couple, shot several years ago, which was never intended to be seen by the public. Although the participants are nude, the tape is not a ‘sex tape.’”
The NSFW video is up on Fleshbot (though probably not for long) and we have to admit, it’s boring. Really boring. Sure, there are exposed naughty bits, but for the most part, the “threesome” is just shown lighting candles, lying on their bed, sitting in a tub (not even a hot tub!) and trying to figure out what their porn names would be. And yep, there is no sex at all. At one point Dane discusses water levels and how to work the jets of the tub. We’re titillated.
Dane and Gayheart have threatened to sue anyone who exploits the video and we have to laugh because they should be more worried that they come off as boring, not kinky. [Photo: FilmMagic]
