Thanks to Transparent‘s Golden Globe win for Best Comedy, Glee‘s exploration of Coach Bieste’s gender transition in its final season, and Orange Is the New Black‘s Laverne Cox’s Hollywood domination, transgender visibility in pop culture is more prominent than ever.
So much for solidarity on Wisteria Lane. The actresses on Desperate Housewives have pledged their support for show creator Marc Cherry, who is accused of hitting their former co-star Nicollette Sheridan. All four of the original housewives, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman, have released a statement that describes their workplace as a wonderful place that has been a blessing to be a part of, which is far from the hostile work environment Sheridan claims in her lawsuit against Cherry. The statement reads:
It would be irresponsible of us to let the public believe that being a part of this show from its inception has been anything but a blessing. We have no first-hand knowledge of what Nicollette may or may not have experienced, but we would never characterize our set as a hostile environment. It is, in fact, the opposite. The friendships and support that Marc Cherry, the cast, the crew and the producers have shared for the past six years have made this a wonderful job that we are grateful for every day.

Real Housewife Bethenny Frankel wasn’t going to let her baby bump keep her from rocking the runway at the Heart Truth Red Dress Fall 2010 Fashion Show in NY last night. A benefit to raise awareness about women’s heart disease, the gala was a star-studded affair with everyone from Joan Collins to Jordin Sparks to Kim Kardashian strutting their stuff in a series of stylish outfits from different designers. “It’s fun and I love all the different fashion,” said show stealer Heidi Klum. “This is not modeling with a runway walk and a mean face. It’s a different feeling. It’s goofy, funny and you ham it up.” See who else did just that in the gallery below.

If there’s something more guaranteed to make us feel more sloth-like than we already do after a weekend of wine, cheese and cake it’s seeing pictures of forty-something celebrities doing triathalons. First Jennifer Lopez impressed us with her supermom fitness after having twins, now Teri Hatcher, who’s 44, took part in the Nautica Triathalon yesterday in Malibu.
Still looking gorgeous (how? She’s in a wetsuit FFS), Teri swam half a mile, ran four and cycled 18 miles along the arduous course alongside other celebs like Desperate Housewives co-star Felicity Huffman, Mario Lopez and Anna Kournikova. Congratulations Teri – and it’s so reassuring that you’re not at all like your alter-ego Susan Mayer, who no doubt would have had a “comedy” struggle to get into her wetsuit and then fallen “hilariously” into the sea. In 1988, Desperate Housewives‘ Felicity Huffman made her screen debut as “The Wheel Of Fortune Girl” in Things Change. A year later, former teenybopper Donny Osmond would release the single “Soldier Of Love,” a surprise smash on the Billboard Hot 100. Both performers were born on December 9th, but which one is older?
