Jennifer Lopez is back at the judges table on the new season of American Idol. Though, the singer may be forced to send her her beau, Casper Smart, packing. Marianne Garvey tells The Gossip Table that Lopez is trying to shake Smart. Unfortunately for her, he keeps texting and calling. Though, her reps deny the two have split. Maybe she’s just busy with the new show?
No Halloween across the pond for these ladies? The 2012 Harper’s Bazaar Women of the Year Awards were held at the Claridge’s Hotel in London yesterday, and we have some action of the red carpet to report. Where Marion Cotillard is, we are, and even though some people may think her sartorial choices are bust, we think she’s amazo and will always defend her to the hilt. So, while there is negative buzz about her wearing those pale gray Dior pointed pumps with her dark navy Dior Spring 2013 (sort of) mullet dress, we think, as always, she pulls it off, especially thanks to those exquisite Chopard diamonds around her neck. The surprising belle of the event was Gillian Anderson — cue The X-Files tune — who looked banging in a Nicholas Oakwell Fall 2012 Couture fitted nude gown with a train. We love the shimmer of the silver patterning, and her blond quiff is boss. Another fashion favorite worked it out at the event as well. We’re talking about Mizz Emily Blunt, who looked delicious in her tangerine Alexander McQueen dress and bag with Burberry shoes. We can’t decide who looks best here, but we think the photograph below may push the ballot in Emily’s favor. What do you think?

I have never seen a full episode of The X-Files, nor could I tell you which one is Mulder and which is Scully. And yet when I heard last night’s rumor that former co-stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are in luv and shacking up together, I immediately lost my mind with excitement. You don’t need to be a File-head (that’s what you call yourselves, right?) to appreciate how magical it is when co-stars on a show/film filled with UST (that’s unresolved sexual tension for you internet newbs) actually get it on.
I asked X-Files super fan and awesomely hilarious comedy writer Annie Stamell why this rumor sparked such a frenzy of excitement, and she told me: “Ask any female fan of the X-Files, and the only person they’d be okay with dating Duchovny over themselves would be Gillian Anderson.”
Sadly, Duchovny’s rep said today that there is nothing going on between the pair. To which I say: SO WHAT! I can still find these two adorable and I can still dream of a day when they fall in love IRL. Until then, I should probably watch an episode or two.
Below: 10 glorious photos of David and Gillian being absolutely precious through the years.
What a pretty, diverse red carpet this was yesterday. The 2012 Critics’ Choice Television Awards happened at the Beverly Hills Hotel, in L.A. and a lot of different styles and silhouettes were represented through all the fashion present. There was the dramatic, flowing gown courtesy Emmy Rossum‘s metallic Donna Karan number and Neil Lane jewelry. We had the sexy, plunging gown with Busy Phillips‘ Michael Kors black dress. Loved the use of turquoise accents through her Irene Neuwirth necklace and ring, as well. We had romantic, vintage looks with Zooey Deschanel‘s blood orange, full-skirted Oscar de la Renta dress and Alison Brie‘s ’40’s inspired frock, also by de la Renta.
Other best-dressed picks included Sarah Hyland‘s flirty, youthful frock by Collette Dinnigan, and her Modern Family co-star Ariel Winter, who looked just lovely in a white, tiered dress, also by the same designer. Coincidence, much? Lucy Liu‘s girly pale pink gown by Atelier Versace made quite an impression too. But, the sexiest look of the night, by far, goes to Julianne Moore who worked it in a black-and-white bodycon dress by Jason Wu. Her nude Walter Steiger strappy heels worked beautifully with her outfit as well. Special mention also goes to the very toned Regina King, who also wore blood orange like Zooey, but in a shorter, lacy Romona Keveza version. If your interest is piqued, then get thee to the gallery!

The fact that the British Film and Television Awards took place on the same day as the Grammys probably only annoys folks like us, who would really like to be giving both events our full attention. And so it goes that we basically ignored the U.K.’s Oscars, missing adorable speeches from The Artist’s Jean Dujardin and Michel Hazanavicius (whose Best Actor and Best Director wins were two of seven awards for the film), and not catching that cute moment in which Best Actress winner Meryl Streep lost her shoe climbing the stairs to the stage and Colin Firth ran to get it for her and place it on her feet. Until now, of course. On the red carpet, there were a handful of A-listers, a few Mad Men and Downton Abbey faves, and a lot of Brits that haven’t fully crossed over to the states yet. To our slight disappointment, there weren’t too many total fashion fails, but we managed to find a few (Oh, Christina Hendricks, why must you do that to your body?). Mostly, though, we saw some sexy strutting from the likes of Viola Davis, Christina Ricci and Brad Pitt. See for yourself who was hot, and who was just a hot mess, in the gallery below.

When we found out that Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol was heading to Rio (where they’re streaming the red carpet live), we realized that they’ve literally taken the movie across the globe. And by they, we mean actors Tom Cruise, Paula Patton (who is gorgeous, BTW) and Simon Pegg. Don’t worry, we already screamed, “Where’s Jeremy Renner” at the screen a bunch of times. Looks like he was busy doing the television interviews while they hopped on flights. The premieres started in Japan, moved to Seoul, covered Mumbai and Dubai, headed to Moscow, jumped to Madrid, Munich and Paris and made a pitstop in London. Gillian Anderson randomly turned up at the last one, FYI. So as you can see, that’s quite a journey they’ve been on. We figured it would be a good idea to put photographs from all the red carpets in one post so you can get your fill. But hurry up and look at the gallery, because this message will self destruct in five seconds.

OK, if two births count as a boom (they do to us). X-Files actress Gillian Anderson gave birth to her second son, Felix Griffiths, last week in London. And British actress Billie Piper delivered little Winston Fox today at the swanky celeb birth depot Portland Hospital. Cuteness! Bring on the MySpace photos/OK! photoshoot! We’re not fussy, we just wanna see.
PS. If you’ve never heard of Billie Piper, a quick history lesson. Teen pop star aged 14, got married age 18 to broadcaster and presenter Chris Evans who was 16 years her senior, spent years bumming around with Chris, then reinvented as actress, divorced Chris – but remained friends in the most amicable celebrity breakup EVER, she even went to his recent re-marriage – found fame in Dr Who and now married to fellow actor Laurence Fox. Got up the duff. Phew. [Source: Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph, Photos: Splash News Online]
