The Met Gala Ball: Who Wore What To The Oscars Of Fashion?

Met Gala Ball 2012

The annual Met Costume Gala Ball is known as being the Oscars of the fashion world, at least in terms of A-List star wattage. We’ve got more sartorial analysis of tonight’s big night en route, but we wanted to these pictures of VH1 Celebrity style icons like Kristen Stewart, Rihanna (see more of RiRi here!), Beyoncé, and Emma Stone up for you to digest as quickly as possible. We’ve also got some incredible looks from the likes of the always divisive Gwyneth Paltrow, the radiant Florence Welch, and the comeback of January Jones (who, IRL, shares nothing in common with “Fat Betty”). Dig in now, but save some room because we’ve got more to come!

Gwyneth Paltrow Goes Braless In Sheer Dress: See Other Celebs Revealed In See-Through Outfits

Gwyneth Paltrow Steps Out In A Sheer Dress

If you wanna turn heads (and headlines) on the red carpet, all you gotta do is wear is see-through outfit with no underwear underneath! This approach has been getting C and D-listers some badly needed press at least since Rose McGowan strolled into the ’98 VMAs wearing a net and a piece of string. But occasionally even Oscar winning superstars feel the temptation to walk on the wild side and step out in a planned “wardrobe malfunction.” Everyone loves attention!

We guess the revealing LBD Gwyneth Paltrow wore to The Conversation launch last night in NYC isn’t too scandalous in compared to some of the other outfits that we’ve seen out and about in recent weeks. But the commando-style flesh flash does seem to be something of a trend lately. From low names like Melody Thornton and Adrienne Bailon to huge celebs like Rihanna and Lady Gaga, much of Hollywood has been going bare lately. Check out the (VERY NSFW) gallery below and see what we mean!

Kristen Stewart Gets Preppy For Paul McCartney’s “My Valentine” Video Premiere

Paul McCartney may be turning 70 this year, but “the cute Beatle” still has no trouble attracting the ladies! Dozens of stars turned out on Friday for the L.A. premiere of Macca’s “My Valentine” music video, which the pop legend directed himself! Kristen Stewart put in an appearance, but seemed to have left her rebel roots at home as she made an entrance in a super preppy skirt and blazer. We wonder what her rock ‘n’ roll godmother Joan Jett, who showed up wearing her trademark punky black leather, must have said. But that’s just the tip of the A-list iceberg. Gwen Stefani, Miranda Kerr, Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth PaltrowZooey Deschanel, Pam Anderson…will the hotties never cease? Beatlemania is alive and well, folks. Check out more in the gallery below!

Oscars Red Carpet: The 8 Best-Dressed Ladies In The House

So, it wasn’t the most surprising of Oscar ceremonies. That’s why we have to thank the women who made things interesting with their sartorial choices — all that color, all those sequins and pleats, all those perfect silhouettes served to liven up the self-congratulatory goings on at the Kodak Theatre. Gwyneth Paltrow swooped in wearing a cape, guys. And Angelina Jolie’s slinky Versace made her actually act silly in public, which is a virtue we didn’t know dresses possessed. Viola Davis’ Vera Wang should make actual emeralds feel dull by comparison. And we don’t even know what the color of Michelle Williams’ gown is, it’s just perfect.

Our next door neighbor, a former fashion editor, has been texting us all night with the exact opposite opinions on many of these looks — she says Angie’s a mess, and Melissa Leo (whom we put in the worst-dressed list) is great — so we’re expecting more debate from you guys on this too. Flip through our top eight below and then tell us what you think. Who did we miss? Who doesn’t deserve our praise? Sound off in the comments!

Thanksgiving Diet: Feast On These Hot Celebs

Relax, we’re not actually going to give you diet tips on this, the most holy of holidays for food lovers. We’re merely suggesting that if you’re anything like us, it’s hard to remember that there will be consequences if we ask for second helpings of mashed potatoes and pie. We slip into a food coma and wake up just long enough to eat the leftovers. So we thought we’d provide this little visual inspiration: 24 hot celebrities — from Britney Spears to Henry Cavill, Pippa Middleton to Hugh Jackman, Adriana Lima to Jennifer Lopez — who have bodies we’d basically kill to have, and who work hard to get them. Maybe seeing them jog, lift weights and strut their assets will inspire you to get off the couch. Or you might just want to sit back and enjoy the view while munching on a turkey leg. That’s the kind of freedom those pilgrims came here to attain, isn’t it?

The Bambi Awards: Gwyneth Paltrow’s Cleavage Vs. Lady Gaga’s Crazy

The stage was set last night at the 2011 Bambi Awards in Wiesbaden, Germany. On one hand we have the blinding column that is Gwyneth Paltrow‘s cleavage, which was lovingly showcased in a glittering, emerald-green Elie Saab gown, slashed down to the navel. This, in our heads, is equivalent to Jennifer Lopez wearing that dress to the 2000 Grammys. Gwynnie, who’s normally so genteel and Goop-y, threw us for a loop with all that sequins and skin.

We also have Lady Gaga wearing what looks like scrap fabric from Bjork‘s swan dress, topped with something Charlize Theron could totally rock in Snow White and the Huntsman. And then Gaga and Karl Lagerfeld met up onstage and the whole place imploded from excessive fierceness. This is also after Gwyneth presented Justin Bieber with an award, causing the auditorium to implode from excessive fame. And Justin was this close to imploding because he was at eye level with GP’s decolletage. As you can tell, there was a lot of imploding going on at the Bambi Awards. Click on the gallery below at your own risk.

The nominees for the 2012 People’s Choice Awards — the bane of all snooty critics — have been announced. And since you can go ahead and see all of the nominees when you go to vote (through December 6) for the show’s winners, to be announced in the January 11 ceremony, we thought we’d concentrate on some important numbers revealed on the list.

Pink Joins Gwyneth Paltrow’s New Sex Addiction Movie

According to Vulture, Pink joins Gwyneth Paltrow’s Thanks For Sharing movie as a mild-mannered middle school teacher who must quietly overcome the death of her elderly mother while touring the cathedrals of Prague. Just kidding, Pink will be playing a “free spirit who bonds with a sex addict,” portrayed by Book of Mormon star Josh Gad. It’s not the steam punk ringmaster or aggressive acrobat Pink has been channeling for years, but it seems like it’s still in her wheelhouse. Plus, let’s not pretend she doesn’t already have the wardrobe for it. Put her in anything she’s worn after Can’t Take Me Home and she’s good to go.

Credited in the 2012 Gwyneth Paltrow-Mark Ruffalo movie by her real name, Alecia Moore, Pink’s latest role is a follow up to her previous memorable work, which according to IMDB is limited to the 2007 horror movie Catacombs, a bit part in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle and the voice of a lady penguin in the upcoming Happy Feet Two. Pink just better hope she doesn’t accidentally upstage Gwyneth, or else she’ll be back in that harness so fast.

The Before And After: How Gwyneth Paltrow Becomes Gwyneth Paltrow

News from out favorite website ever — Goop. Its founder Gwyneth Paltrow has posted a behind-the-scenes ‘Emmy Scrapbook’ and thus made our day. These photos are taken from her personal camera and you can clearly tell the before and after. Because the one on the left is like her in Contagion, only smiling, and not contorted in pain and horror.

It starts off harmlessly enough with her introducing the diary with, “So nearly two weeks ago, getting everyone settled in back to school mode, I woke up to a huge surprise: I had won a Creative Arts Emmy for my guest role on Glee!” She adds a heartfelt bit about her late dad, writing, “This was especially meaningful, as my father (who made great TV shows back in the day—”The White Shadow”, “St. Elsewhere”) had been nominated and lost the Emmys nine times. So I’m pretty chuffed about the whole thing. And then it goes very Gwyneth and talks about jetting from the Shangri-La in Paris to London and then to L.A! And Audi’s and facials and what not. Gotta love her life.

What we love especially (and non-sarcastically) about this though, are the photos! We cracked up at the one with Tina Fey and Jack McBrayer because the caption is,  “I live for Tina Fey and I love Kenneth from 30 Rock!” We have a sneaky feeling she totally forgot Jack’s name. What’s even funnier is that with all that professional help, she still ended up in our Emmy Worst Dressed List! It may not sound like it, but can we say how much we love Gwyneth. There’s truly no one else like her!

Glee‘s Ryan Murphy Writing A New Musical Movie For Gwyneth Paltrow

The legacy of Country Strong lives on: Glee‘s Ryan Murphy is planning a Gwneth Paltrow musical movie, costarring Bridesmaids star and SNL alum Maya Rudolph. “We want to do a musical together — an original,” Murphy told E! at the Emmys, “For Gwyneth and Maya Rudolph, both of whom I’m great friends with.” Um, we all saw Maya doing the damn thing at the Emmys on Sunday, right?  Give Paltrow a prop mic, stick her in the back and you’re half-way to the first curtain call as we type this.

We’ve long known that the Gwyneth Paltrow is Ryan Murphy’s muse for the work he does with those lovable kids at fictional McKinley High, but Murphy first worked with Paltrow on the 2006 film Running With Scissors. “That’s all I will say,” Murphy said, before clamming up about his new film, though he did admit, “I loved Country Strong. I love it when she’s drunk and on the floor spitting up pills.” Okay, we can see that. It’ll be like Rent with a splash of GOOP. We can get on board that.
