CZJ, Hannah Simone, Jessica Alba, Teresa Palmer: Is Black Lace The Flavor Of The Week?

Black Lace: Jessica Alba, Teresa Palme,r Catherine Z-J, Hannah Simone

We’ve been seeing a lot of black lace popping up on celebrities over at the West Coast all week. And to our delight, none of them have made the fabric seem Morticia Adams at all. Do we smell a trend? It started with Jessica Alba at the Producer’s Guild Awards during the weekend at the Beverly Hilton wearing a sexy Elie Saab Fall 2012 Couture gown. Snazzy color was provided through her purple Roger Vivier clutch, her mint green nails and her pink lipstick. We were also thrilled to see Catherine Zeta-Jones take on a black lace sheath with a fringed hemline, by Emilio Pucci from the Fall 2011 collection. CZJ wore the sexy outfit for a stint on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno in Burbank, California, day before yesterday. Next up, we have the Aussie stunner Teresa Palmer wearing a sweeping, dramatic black lace gown by Philip Armstrong, which plunged down the front. She wore it to the premiere of Warm Bodies yesterday in Hollywood, and styled it up with a silver Judith Leiber clutch and heavy-duty Jacob & Co. diamond stud earrings and bracelet. Lastly, we have the lovely Hannah Simone at co-star Zooey Deschanel‘s Glamour Cover Girl bash in West Hollywood, California, wearing an elegant black lace, cap-sleeve dress from Theia’s Fall 2012 collection. Now do you see why we sense a trend? Comment on your favorite look!

Selena Gomez, Nina Dobrev And All Of Young Hollywood Take Over Golden Globes After Parties

Warner Brother Golden Globes Afterparty

Did you check out our exhaustive coverage of the Golden Globes yesterday? We’re hoping you did! We thought we’d give you a tiny break from all the information and wait till you came back refreshed. Because after any awards show, you know there’s going to be a mad after-party. One of the biggest ones that went down was the ” Warner Brothers Instyle Golden Globe Party” which seemed to be the really hot ticket for the night. Because pretty much all of young — and yes, hot — Hollywood showed up in droves. You’ll be able to see all the faces and the gorgeous dresses in our gallery below, of course. Julianne Hough wore a pink Jenny Packham gown which we far preferred to her Golden Globes Monique Lhuillier poufball. Conversely, we prefer Kelly Osbourne‘s Golden Globes Zac Posen gown to the fussy lavender dress (by the same designer) worn to this party. Freida Pinto wore a sequined Antonio Berardi Spring 2013 sheath, while Selena Gomez upped the hardware with a gold Atlier Versace minidress. Her bestie, Vanessa Hudgens also went for metallics wearing a Jenny Packham black sequin, long-sleeved gown with heavily embellished gold shoulders. Ashley Tisdale went in the opposite direction wearing a minimal blush colored Issa column which looked lovely on her. She accessorized with an L.K. Bennett ‘Alexia’ clutch and Jerome C. Rousseau strappy sandals. Nina Dobrev was lady-like in a 50′s inspired icy blue Oscar de la Renta frock. Enjoy the pictures!

Rihanna, Jennie Garth, Brittany Snow Heat Up GQ Party In Red, Cassie, Rashida Jones, Julianne Hough Flop In Monochrome

GQ Men Of The Year Party: Rihanna, Jennie Garth, Cassie

The 2012 GQ Men Of The Year party was held at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. last night and as you can see above, the ladies took the black carpet quite seriously. Red means business and that’s the color a slew of stars decided to wear, as you can see above. And they all rocked red lipstick too, with the exception of Jenna Dewan who did a strong eye and neutral lip.She wore a tomato Amanda Wakeley dress with very sexy Christian Louboutin ankle-straps in the same shade. Brittany Snow wore a slinky vintage YSL dress with Jerome Rousseau heels. Then there was Rihanna who slayed them all in a very minimal strappy Calvin Klein mini dress and Manolo Blahnik sandals. Completing the red quartet was Jennie Garth and we don’t know who designed her peplum dress but it hugged every curve and made her look like a bombshell.

gq men of the year

Monochrome didn’t fare as well as red sadly. Julianne Hough wore a Temperley London white suit that looked like something out of Saturday Night Fever. It also really needed to be hemmed as we couldn’t see her Brian Atwood shoes but at least her Roger Vivier gold clutch was cool. Rashida Jones — gorgeous woman that she is — got it all wrong by wearing a Marni top with a Band of Outsiders jacket, Giorgio Armani shorts, accessorizing with earrings by Dana Rebecca, Christian Louboutin shoes and bag, and rings and bangles by Crow’s Nest. It was just too much of a mish-mash and she looked squat, which she most definitely is not, due to those shorts. Diane Kruger went into weird avant garde territory by wearing a Cushnie et Ochs dress and Vanessa Bruno jacket which did not sit well, but her Jason Wu bag and Jimmy Choos were to die for. Cassie‘s Anthony Vaccarello gown looked like someone had a go at it with scissors but again, the Jimmy Choos were hot. Check out our gallery for all these looks along with all the other women who turned up. Favorites like Emily Vancamp (in a Reem Acra dress, and Brian Atwood heels,) Krysten Ritter (Dolce & Gabbana top and skirt) and Alessandra Ambrosio who was wearing a Sally LaPointe dress all made an appearance.

Yellow Trends At The Emmy Awards, We’re Not Sure If That’s A Good Thing

Trend: Yellow Gowns At The Emmys

We’re normally quite happy to see bright citrus colors on any red carpet, but this year’s Emmy Awards may have changed all of that. Who doesn’t love yellow, right? Us, normally, but this time the shade was anything but a ray of sunshine at the event. Claire Danes‘ Lanvin toga-gone-wrong (we’re weeping that it’s a Lanvin) and Julianne Moore‘s Dior Couture fancy nun’s habit already got them on this year’s worst-dressed list. Coming this close to being added on that list is Julie Bowen, whose Monique Lhullier gown looked jarring on her, especially since her hair was all wrong. Kelli Garner was a tad more on the mustard side of the shade card, but her dress was drapes gone all wrong, mismatched makeup and silver shoes that should not have been put on her feet. Getting it somewhat right was the gorgeous Hannah Simone whose one-shouldered romantic, custom Emilio Pucci dress was a step in the correct direction. We just wished someone had pulled the bodice up a little because it makes her girls look droopy and lumpy because of the ruching on the bodice. Loving her Lorraine Schwartz gold leaf earrings, though. Kaley Cuoco came close too, with her sunshine Angel Sanchez dress. The fit let her down again, but the messy braid and rose pink lipstick are ace! The only person who got yellow completely right was the unknown-on-these-shores, Renee Bargh, who is an Australian television presenter. She worked it in a simple strapless gown and gold circle necklace. Take note, ladies.

Fox’s Upfront Presentation Brings Out TV’s Top Players: Britney, Lea, Demi, Mila And Co.

Fox Upfront Presentation 2012

Around the same time that the NBC stars were celebrating their new fall lineup, Fox’s Upfront presentation for advertisers was also happening in NYC. Both channels brought in their bigtime stars, but we feel Fox may just have inched ahead. This was also, in part, because of the news we published yesterday that Britney Spears and Demi Lovato were officially named as the newest judges on The X Factor.

But they were, by no means, not the only stars who came to the presentation. Fellow The X Factor judges Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid were also there. A ton of the Glee cast showed up as well. Lea Michele led the way in a lovely, delicate Pucci dress with Casadei shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Naya Rivera wore the one mullet dress we’ve ever liked, a Lublu number that she paired with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. Jenna Ushkowitz wore a summery Rebecca Minkoff design, completing the trio of ladies from the show. Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer and Darren Criss represented the show’s dudes. New Girl star Zooey Deschanel was also there in a Carven dress and Miu Miu heels, as was her co-star Hannah Simone. And surprise surprise, a casually dressed Mila Kunis came for the event as well. Take a look at all of them, in the gallery below.
