Kate Upton, Ian Somerhalder And More Of Hot Hollywood Show Up For GQ’s Super Bowl Bash

Celebrities at GQ's Super Bowl party

A lot of celebrities had double duty on Saturday night as there were a number of Super Bowl parties happening in New Orleans, most notably the GQ Super Bowl Party with Lil Wayne performing and the DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl, where Justin Timberlake brought Jay-Z onstage. The celebs at the earlier party were pretty casual, but they cleaned up quite nicely for the evening to-do. Except Josh Hutcherson and Chace Crawford, who showed up in denim and a baseball cap and a lot of facial scruff, respectively. They should have taken style cues from Ryan Kwanten and Matt Bomer who both nailed it in sharp suits.

Of course, our eyes were trained on one very gorgeous Ian Somerhalder who turned out in a simple black shirt and jeans. Simple … but perfect, as always. The two ladies in attendance also did quite nicely. Kate Upton slicked on some red lipstick, twisted her hair up in a messy updo and slid into some skinny black pants, a leather bomber jacket and a pair of dark cherry-pointed pumps. Can’t really go wrong with that, right? Hayden Panettiere also took on a three-piece combination but topped hers with a white blazer and beautifully ironed shiny hair. The piece de resistance was her neon orange pumps. It takes a lot to upstage Kate, but we think Hayden managed it. Have a look at our gallery below to see full-length pictures of everyone in attendance.

Pastel Palettes Are A Big Trend On The Golden Globes Red Carpet

Pastel And White Trend At 2013 Golden Globes

While goth was a major trend at the Golden Globes last night, another major direction that the fashion was inclined towards was the diametrically opposite — pastels. Shimmering nudes, pretty neutrals, and creamy white were all spotted on stars providing a wonderful foil to the ever-prevelant black. Leading this brigade was Amy Adams in a romantic nude Marchesa gown with a tulle fishtail complete with Tiffany & Co. jewelery. Isla Fisher also chose a nude palette but sparkled thanks to beaded embroidery that was sewn all over her love Reem Acra gown. Amanda Seyfried was another highlight in a shell, flowing, lace-panelled Givenchy Couture custom-made gown which had us sold. Megan Fox nailed it, as well, in a blush-colored, strapless Dolce & Gabbana dress with Jimmy Choo shoes, Lorraine Schwartz jewelery and a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch. Bringing in the sexy were, who else, but Jennifer Lopez and Lea Michele. J.Lo worked it like a pro, pouring her curves in a nude Zuhair Murad long-sleeved gown covered in ivory lace overlay. Lea went her regular route by showing off some leg, but still looked quite lovely in a white, halter-necked, textured Elie Saab gown and bag paired with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Giambattista Valli heels. Heidi Klum also showed off some major stems in a one-shouldered white Alexandre Vauthier gown with gold, embellished trim.

Adding little washes of pastel color were Kelly Osbourne and Nicole Richie. Kelly chose a mint green, fishtail Zac Posen gown that somehow, ended up working with her lavender hair. She buffed up her outfit with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, a Judith Leiber bag and Jacob & Co jewels. Nicole, on the other hand, was elegant in an vintage-looking, old-Hollywood inspired, pale blue and white Naeem Khan gown. She even worked in pale blue eyeshadow — how’s that for retro? Check out all our looks compiled in the gallery below and tell us who got the thumbs-up.

Sparkles Proliferate On The CMA Awards Best-Dressed List (Yes, Taylor Swift Is On It)

Best-Dressed At The 46th Annual CMA Awards

So much sparkle at the CMA Awards last night! The only person on this best-dressed list who broke the trend was Jennifer Nettles who was beautiful and baby-bumpin’ in a deep, chocolate brown column. Simple, elegant and so very flattering. Kellie Pickler rocked her shaved head in a pale blue flowing Pamella Roland gown, which had a princess train. She paired it with matching and Tacori earrings. We like the fact the fact that the hair is so punk and the gown is so feminine. Adds a nice contrast! Hayden Panettiere — appropriately starring in Nashville — wore a stunning seafoam green Charleston frock by Georges Chakra Couture water and paired it off with a sparkling emerald strappy heels and clutch combination. Unusual choice, but so eye-catching! Martina McBride wore a bronze Grecian overlay gown secured at the waist by a thin gold belt. It complemented her coloring beautifully.  Last, but not least, was Taylor Swift who picked a very pretty Jenny Packham gown, which had red sequined flower embellishment scattered all over it, with Jimmy Choos and Neil Lane jewels. Very Taylor! But who was your very best-dressed on this short but sweet list?

Emmys Worst-Dressed? Claire Danes, Zosia Mamet, Emily VanCamp And Others Troubling Us

Claire Danes, Emily VanCamp, Zosia Mament
First of all, no one on the red carpet of the Emmy Awards was particularly awful, well with the exception of Phoebe Price, who really goes for awful every time. But there was a handful of ladies — ladies whom we love and admire — who made us scratch our heads and want to send angry letters to their stylists. Mostly, there was a disturbing trend in being terrible to boobs. The gowns on Emily VanCamp, Claire Danes, Morena Baccarin and Zosia Mamet were rather unkind in the bust area, and after spending a little too much time admiring Kat Dennings‘ girls tonight, that just made us sad. Anna Chlumsky and Hayden Panettiere disappointed us by wearing gowns that would look amazing on someone 20 years their senior. Leslie Mann, meanwhile, made a terrible choice of color, and we wanted to rip the sleeves off of Julianne Moore’s gown and the ruffles off Elisabeth Moss‘.

Again, none of these were offensively bad. And maybe you disagree? Let us know in the comments and on Twitter!

Revolution, The Mindy Project, Arrow And Other New Shows Making Us Thrilled For Fall

Revolution, Last Resort, Arrow, The Mindy Project

The air is crisper and cooler; it’s a little darker when I leave the office, and the public pools are closed. I’m always of mixed emotions when we think about the end of summer, until I remember that my DVR will soon be filled with new imaginary friends and enemies. Of course, I’m also happy to see the old ones return — and you should totally have your TV locked on VH1 at all times — but I thought I’d take a second to tell you about the top 10 new shows I’ve had a chance to check out and am already either totally hooked on, or willing to ask out on a second date. Beginning with my favorite…

Revolution
No one does TV pilots like J.J. Abrams. And for this one, the Lost/Alias/Felicity/Fringe creator teamed up with Iron Man director Jon Favreau and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke, so it’s no wonder it looks and feels like a movie more than an hour-long drama. I am already totally hooked on the quest of a girl named Charlie whose father maybe probably knew why all the power in the world went out 15 years ago, especially because her quest involves finding her uncle Miles, who happens to be played by Billy Burke. Also, there’s some kickass, Lost-ian world-building for good measure. Premieres Monday, September 17, at 10 p.m. on NBC.

What the Critics Say: “Favreau brings a lot of strong energy to Revolution, giving appropriate weight to moments like that opening sequence and delivering action that is more notable and big than is normal for network TV – a sword fight Miles has with multiple foes is incredibly fun and cool, and instantly helps Burke (bringing the right world-weary vibe to the proceedings) establish that yes, the dad from Twilight can play a kickass hero.” — IGN

The Mindy Project
Mindy Kaling won fans and fame playing cute in front of the camera and smart behind the camera on The Office. Now we get to see her meld those qualities more smoothly (again in front of and behind the camera) in a way that will have many ladies nodding their heads as much as we’re rolling on the floor laughing. Her character, OBGYN resident Mindy Lahiri, aspires to live in a romantic comedy — and succeeds in at least getting to part in those movies where she dates the wrong guys, gets in hilariously slapstick disasters and shows how much pluck and ingenuity she has when it really counts. Not life-changing stuff here, but totally endearing entertainment. Premieres Tuesday, September 25, at 9:30 p.m. on Fox.

What the Critics Say: “It warms me to the the cockles of my heart to see a female protagonist on television who is not white or movie star skinny looking hot, banging babes, making mistakes, and being hilarious, and I can’t wait to see the rest of what Mindy has in store for us.” — Crushable

Jessica Biel, Maria Sharapova, Zooey Deschanel Vie For Best-Dressed At The ESPY Awards

2012 ESPY Best-Dressed List

Of all the athletes and celebrities who attended the ESPY Awards yesterday at the Nokia Theatre in L.A., seven beautiful ladies really stood out from all the rest. We’ll start with Jessica Biel who nailed it in a retro, flirty, white Christian Dior Resort 2013 mini-dress. We loved the slightly bouffant ponytail and the ankle-strap Nicholas Kirkwood for Roksanda Ilincic Spring 2012 heels with the lime green soles. Hayden Panettiere went old Hollywood-glam in a sparkling, strapless Giorgio Armani column with side-swept hair. We loved the fact that she didn’t go with the expected red lip and went for glowing, sun-kissed skin instead. Then there was the gamine Zooey Deschanel in a bedazzled, gold Oscar de la Renta frock and Edie Parker clutch with a red belt and Sergio Rossi pumps. Very different from the minimal purple Armani gown Olivia Munn wore with Bvlgari jewels. You can’t have an ounce of extra weight to pull that off! Major props to Maria Sharapova as well, who looked stunning in a cornflower blue J. Mendel Resort 2013 gown. There’s more to this list, but you’re going to have to look through our gallery for all the looks. Do tell us who you think deserves the best-dressed title.

Miley Cyrus Debuts Her Teddy Roosevelt Inspired Tattoo. Yup, Add That To Our List Of WTF Celebrity Ink

Miley Cyrus gets a Teddy Roosevelt tattoo

Ke$ha topped the list of our 20 Worst Celebrity Tattoos a few weeks back when she proudly displayed her inner lip ink reading “Suck It” on instagram. But now the dollar-signed-one might have some competition in Miley Cyrus, who was seen today showing off her new Theodore Roosevelt-inspired tattoo. We say “might,” because honestly we’re not sure how to feel about it. Body art inspired by our 26th president isn’t something we come across on a regular basis. On one hand, we guess it’s a pretty cool quote taken from a 1910 speech in which he said “So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat.” But on the other hand…what? And furthermore, WTF? We know you’re just being Miley, but damn. Maybe she’s still feeling the patriotism from her 4th of July festivities. Head on down to the gallery below to see more celebrity tattoos that left us scratching our heads!
