The SAG Awards were full of lovely ladies and gents in black and blue who did not in any way remind us of bruises, along with welcome splashes of silver and purple, but what we loved across the board on the 15 outfits we’ve selected below is the way their cuts play up the perfect bodies of their wearers. Amanda Seyfried feared walking in her glorious Zac Posen, and Jennifer Lawrence almost tripped on her Dior as she stepped up to accept Best Female Actor, but we appreciate the sacrifices they made in the name of fashion. Tina Fey continued the winning streak she began at the Golden Globes, and Kiernan Shipka continued the one she’ll probably be on for decades more to come. It was all a pretty good showing for yet another contest for a naked statuette!

Now that the worst-dressed list is out of the way, time to rejoice in our happy, best-dressed roll-call from yesterday’s Critics’ Choice Movie Awards. It’s a small list, but packed with heaps of flavor. To begin with, we’re clapping our hands with joy at Anne Hathaway‘s minimal, shimmery, Oscar de la Renta gown. That smile, the cropped hair and the perfectly creamy makeup are the right accompaniments proving that sometimes, less is definitely more. Another absolute favorite is Marion Cotillard‘s frothy, applique Zuhair Murad Couture dress that is girly, fun and hit that line between playful and fashion forward. The Jimmy Choo “Tahi” heels have us squeeing too. Marion’s got serious style chops! Jennifer Lawrence‘s Prabal Gurung Pre-Fall 2013 gown brought grown-up glamor and drama to the carpet. The draping, the dual-fabric and the train are fantastic features and don’t overwhelm her, and the Chopard jewels, Jimmy Choo ‘Vamp’ sandals and a Roger Vivier clutch add the right amount of hardware. Naomi Watts was sexy as hell in a black strapless Emilio Pucci Resort 2013 gown with a sheer key-hole with turquoise Irene Neuwirth jewels and a silver Edie Parker clutch that provided the right hits of color and metal. Jaime King gave a Naomi a run for her sexy money in a strappy Jason Wu Pre-Fall ’13 semi-sheer gown with flashes of gold accessories and a black belt cinching her tiny waist. The side-swept curls and red lips are happily noted, as well. Rounding off the list is a surprise entrant — Helen Hunt. We bow down to her in that red Philip Armstrong Atelier column gown with those crystal and lace panelled cut-outs. Perfectly styled, and impeccably turned out with a hit of gold accessories — gold Rene Caovilla sandals, Martin Katz jewelry and a Lauren Merkin ‘Lucca’ clutch.

We’re back again, folks! Earlier today we brought you the breakdown for the actors nominated for the 2013 Academy Awards, and now we’ve returned to do the same thing for the actresses! There are so many incredibly talented ladies up for the award this year, it’s hard to know who to place your bets on for your inevitable Oscar Betting Pool. So we’ve tried to make it a little easier for you and “handicapped” each of the actresses to help you make your picks!
Jessica Chastain: Maya in Zero Dark Thirty
Why She Has A Good Shot: Chastain provided a strong emotional anchor amid the violence, terrorism and controversy in a film that chronicles the search for Osama Bin Laden.
What Might Get In Her Way: Geez, we heard that the Academy tends to respect dramas over comedies, but this sounds a little intense.
Jennifer Lawrence: Tiffany Maxwell in Silver Linings Playbook
Why She Has A Good Shot: Sure it’s a great movie and an awesome performance, but in our minds this is a nomination for blowing box offices sky-high with Hunger Games.
What Might Get In Her Way: President Snow.
The 16th Annual Hollywood Film Awards gala took place at The Beverly Hilton Hotel last night, and we have some bona fide A-listers who kept the fashion flag flying very high. Marion Cotillard can always be counted to hit it out of the ballpark, and she did just that in a gorgeous, edgy midnight-blue Christian Dior dress with metallic silver pointed pumps by the same designers. She also totally pulled off that ’40s hairstyle. Amy Adams also looked like a retro goddess with flowing titian hair and a fitted black Oscar de la Renta column with a mesh panel, with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, Tiffany jewels, and a YSL bag. Brava! The surprise entry on this list is Helen Hunt who went the sexy route in a slinky silver dress and strappy heels. Way to work it out, lady! While we’re certain that these three really deserve to be up here, we have a couple of entries we’re not quite so sure about, and need your help with.
Kerry Washington is so pretty and we love her black-and-white printed Monique Lhuillier dress. The Louis Vuitton shoes and clutch kind of ruin it for us, though. We feel the clutch clashes with the dress and the shoes are too twee for the whole thing. Then there’s Clea Duvall in that very feminine pink, flowing gown. We’re just not sure about that material sprouting out of her shoulders. Besides, we could not find one photograph of her smiling. That stone-faced expression is what she appeared to have on the entire time, and when one’s wearing such a soft, draped, girly gown … you have to sell it.

Looks like Kim Kardashian’s divorce from Kris Humphries is now official. “After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage,” Kim said in a statement to E! News. “I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don’t work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best.” Meanwhile, new hubby Kris sounds a lot less thrilled about the announcement, saying in a statement, “I’m committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents. I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce … I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.” They still had that new marriage smell, too!
While Kim and Kris might be ready to sign those divorce papers only 72 days after their nuptials, they are nowhere near the first celebrity couple to bail out of their wedded bliss just weeks or months after walking down the aisle. From Mario Lopez to Britney Spears, Liz Taylor to Lisa Marie Presley, let’s look back at our favorite shortest Hollywood marriages:
