Considering yesterday’s Tribeca Ball red carpet was more meh than fabulous, we expected the Tribeca Film Festival’s Vanity Fair party to up the ante. Sadly, it didn’t. There were some stand-outs. Jessica White nailed it again in a cream gown with lace overlay and a sexy slit up the draped thigh. Helena Christensen looked fresh and fine in a summery white cocktail frock which was yards better than her pastoral maxi at the Tribeca Ball. Sticking to the white theme was Leelee Sobieski wore a very simple Jil Sander gown (see above right) that we absolutely love. Unfortunately, she killed it with a weird Star Wars-esque ‘do.
There were a couple of other head-scratchers too. Like why would Catherine Zeta-Jones put on that terribly unflattering metallic gray Michael Kors frock? Why would someone as gorgeous as Lily Cole put on a glorified sack? Why would Dakota Fanning (who was also a juror in the World Competition Category) put on a weird headband when her hot pink Lanvin dress was lovely enough on its own? To answer all these questions and to ask a couple of your own, head to the gallery to check out what everyone wore.

We’d like to save the best for last, so we’re going to start with who didn’t hit the mark at last night’s Tribeca Ball in New York. The event was honoring Robert de Niro, FYI, and was held at the New York Academy of Art. We’ll start with Solange Knowles on the left. Love the coral lips and print blouse, but not exactly loving those high-waisted, shiny trousers. Taking “shiny” to a whole new level is Carla Gugino, in the middle. She’s such a beautiful woman, but that bouffant hair is all wrong, especially when paired with that red, satin dress. We get she was trying to go retro, but couldn’t get it right. Then there’s Paz de la Huerta on the right. We don’t even know what to say, or where to begin. Just … NO.
We’re moving on to the meh pile next, which comprises Padma Lakshmi and Helena Christensen. To see what they wore, and what we have to say, click after the jump. The best dressed lot also awaits you! Read more…
(It’s that time of year again! Welcome to TheFABlife Bikini Awards, where we pit half-naked celebs against each other and you vote for the finest skin-flaunter of the summer of 2011.)
Voting is now closed. Thanks for participating!
It’s a no-brainer that models are gonna look ahhhh-mazing showing off some skin. After all, it’s what they’re paid the big bucks to do. This summer, some of the industry’s finest cat-walked across the sand in some skimpy and sexy numbers. But who deserves the big prize? Duking it out are Kate Upton, Helena Christensen, Janice Dickinson, Alessandra Ambrosio and Miranda Kerr!
Can you imagine this woman is 42 years old? We can’t stop staring at her! It’s like she topped the pool of the genetically gifted! Helena Christensen is in Ischia, Italy currently and is taking advantage of the fine weather. That translates directly into beach time. She’s at the eight-day Ishcia festvial there, the same one where Gerard Butler was honored as Actor of the Year. Not that he’s going to get any attention whatsoever if she continues to wear a bikini! We salute you, oh Helena! Once a supermodel, always a supermodel. Just don’t let your boss catch you staring (NSFW alert!)

When Vanity Fair throws a party, everybody comes. So it was no surprise that when they threw a party at the Tribeca Film Festival, celebrities, old and new, and of every profession turned up. Young Hollywood was ably repp’d by Anna Kendrick and Abigail Breslin. Hollywood royalty, on the other hand, included the likes of Robert de Niro, Harvey Keitel, Christopher Walken and director, Ron Howard.
There were designers (Calvin Klein and Diane von Furstenberg), rappers (Pharrell) and supermodels (Helena Christensen) that went as far back as Lauren Hutton, even! From the miscellaneous lot, Jerry Seinfeld, Zach Braff, Martha Stewart, Ed Burns, and Emily Mortimer showed up. Take a look at our gallery to watch the motley crew arriving at the do.

It was all about pockets at Stella McCartney‘s Spring 2011 Fashion Presentation in New York yesterday – not on the runway, but in the audience. We’re huge fans of dresses with pockets, but the trend was out in full force on every attendee, whether they were in a skirt, dress, jeans or jumpsuit. Honestly, not a single person could resist hiding their hands for these photos. Two is a coincidence, three is a trend, and ten is like, a wart epidemic or something, what are these people hiding?

If there’s one thing that sounds completely unappealing to us, it’s the thought of someone – anyone – jogging naked. There’s a lot of stuff that flaps around when one jogs, which is why we have so many Spandex athletic garments that restrain said flapping items. So even though supermodel Helena Christensen is one of the most beautiful women in the world, we still don’t want to imagine her out for a run in nothing but her cross-trainers. Alas, naked Helena the focal point of Reebok’s new ad campaign for their EasyTone trainers and as hot as she is, it doesn’t change our mind.
This isn’t the first (or second…or third) time Christensen has been naked, but it is the first time she’s done so while peddling sneakers. In a PR-rrific quote, she says this about the shoes: “With my busy schedule it’s a perfect way to do something without spending hours in the gym. I’m impatient, when I try something I like to see results immediately. I could feel these working right away which is why I’ve stuck with them.” But can they get us as shiny as she is? That’s the real question.
Most people were introduced to Danish supermodel Helena Christensen while she was romping around the beach, topless, in the video for Chris Isaak’s song “Wicked Game”. Christensen was 21 when that came out and it’s hard to believe she is 40 now, but she still looks amazing and she’s not letting her age stop her from disrobing yet again. Christensen is featured on the cover (link is kinda NSFW) of the summer issue of French magazine Citizen K looking as hot as she did rolling around at 21.
The naked cover shot is just one in a long line of recent nude covers, most notably Sharon Stone‘s bare-breasted shot on Paris Match last month. These women look amazing, not just for their age but just in general. Bless them and their gene pools. We’re jealous. [Photo: FilmMagic]
