Jessica Simpson confirmed the pregnancy we pretty much all knew about already with a tweet yesterday that read, “Merry Christmas from my family to yours!” accompanying a deadly cute photo of 7-month-old daughter Maxwell Drew in front of the words “Big Sis” written in the sand. It by far surpasses Simpson’s “Mummy” tweet from last Halloween, and also makes us really wish she’d been able to break this news herself, rather than some “friend” who sold the story to Us weeks ago.
UPDATE: Weight Watchers also let Jessica announce her new pregnancy in a 30-second ad, released today. “Being healthy has become a part of who I am, which is great timing, because I’m having another baby,” she says. (WW made sure to add a printed message on the ad that says, “Pregnant women are not eligible to join Weight Watchers. Jessica has stopped following the plan and intends to return after she gives birth.”)
The announcement made us think back to all the other varied ways in which celebrity moms announced their big news to the world in 2012. Here are some of our favorites:
Snooki’s “OMG! I’m Pregnant!” Us Weekly Headline: This is another one we pretty much already knew about before the story was published, but the fact that we could totally hear Snooki’s voice as we read that headline made it more unique than your typical pregnancy story sold to a tabloid.
Amber Rose Follows Beyonce’s Example: Following a couple of weeks of speculation, Amber accompanied Wiz Khalifa to the MTV VMAs this year in a lacy skintight gown and caressed her little bump on the red carpet, leaving no more doubt about their big news. Months later, it looked like Jenna Dewan-Tatum was doing the same red-carpet reveal in her flowy princess gown at VH1 DIVAS, but she and Channing Tatum decided to let us guess for a few more hours before going the typical publicist-to-magazine route.
Did we call this yesterday, or what? Actually, we didn’t really call it, as we tried to respect Jenna Dewan-Tatum and Channing Tatum’s wishes to announce their big news — that Jenna’s pregnant with their first baby — in the manner of their choosing, i.e. by having their rep confirm the news to Us Weekly and People today. But we just couldn’t ignore the fact that Jenna’s empire-waisted, princess-worthy gown screamed “baby bump” last night at VH1 DIVAS. And when Jenna and Elisha Cuthbert were onstage introducing Ciara, the Step Up star totally touched her belly in that semi-subconscious expectant mother way.
Jenna and Chan “are pleased to announce that they are expecting the birth of their first child next year,” their rep told People. Congrats, you two! We hope the world can stand the inevitable cuteness a Tatum baby will bring. To prepare ourselves, here are some adorable pictures of the happy parents-to-be:

We don’t really mean that headline how you think — since we’re against calling “baby bump” on ladies who have yet to announce anything themselves. We’re mostly just admiring Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s fairy princess look — complemented by that princess-worthy headband and bright, youthful makeup — on its own merit. But when we saw Mrs. Channing Tatum step onto the purple carpet for tonight’s VH1 DIVAS, where she’s a presenter, we thought, “Whoa, mama.”
“On the way to @VH1DIVAS! I am in full fairy mood tonight,” Jenna tweeted.
Also, this empire cut is like one of the many dresses we pregnant ladies saved from our un-knocked-up days and have been able to pull out and wear in full, er, bloom too. So, if Jenna is not yet carrying a mini-Chan, this sexy look might inspire her Sexiest Man Alive to get to work on that ASAP, and then she can recycle this look later!
“I’m ready; I think she’s ready,” Channing Tatum told People about starting a family in his Sexiest Man interview last month. We’re ready for you, too!

Taylor Swift is holding hands with Harry Styles of One Direction, Lindsay Lohan is partying down and stealing the sweatshirt of Max George from The Wanted. Boy bands are back in a big way, and they’re stealing some of the brightest lights in tinsel town! But then again, who could blame them with their cool hair and cool clothes and…other cool guys with cool hair and cool clothes around them. Gah, sometimes is really does pay to travel in groups!
Tay and Lilo are definitely not the first famous ladies who have been swayed by the charms of a boy-bander. And chances are high that they won’t be the last either! Sure, everyone knows about Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake, but remember that time he hooked up with Jenna Dewan? They obviously didn’t last, but we guess she made out ok in the end by marrying Channing Tatum and all. Before her punch-filled love triangle, Halle Berry stepped out with New Kid on the Block Danny Wood. Joe Jonas can count Camilla Belle and Taylor Swift among his suitors, whereas Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus preferred his brother Nick. Head down to the gallery below to see the boy-band hookups that you totally forgot about!

The Marchesa show was always going to be a big draw since it’s such a celebrity favourite. We were hoping for a couple more A-Listers, but hey, Fashion Week’s such a packed schedule that this lot is just fine. Kanye West, check. Kim Kardashian, looking strangely like Big Bird, check! Tyra Banks … check. But hold up. That smizing is really beginning to freak us out. Like … this is something right out of The Exorcist now. That — and her hair. What can we say about her hair? We can’t. We’ll just let you gaze in wonder at the photograph below.
Yeah. That. It is unreal. It goes beyond volume. And it’s as if she’s smizing right at us! How much more perfect could it get? Others present at the show were a ladylike Stacy Keibler, a very excited Sarah Hyland, a casual chic Rachel Roy, a retro-looking Jenna Dewan and Michelle Trachtenberg who looked like her Gossip Girl character, Georgina Sparks in sunglasses. Check them all out in the gallery below. Werk!

We kind of love dramatic makeovers. Miley Cyrus chopping off her hair and going super blond really did it for us. It seems to be such a gutsy and freeing thing to do and who doesn’t love that? The next celebrity, post-Miley, to go in for a brand new look, surprises us. It’s Jenna Dewan-Tatum who, as you can see from the photograph above on the right, has gone choppy and blond as well. Jenna seems like such a girly-girl (we mean that in a good way), which is why this drastic change has thrown us for a loop. She tweeted out the new ‘do, writing, “Do blondes really have more fun?? About to find out.” We have to say, we love this on her. And when you see the before-and-after- pictures, as we’ve presented to you above, you’ll see what a massively different avatar this is. She tweeted an explanation later, saying, “Oh, and the new hair is just for a role guys…started a new movie today.” Is that a wig? It doesn’t seem to be a wig? Maybe she meant she’ll go back to her regular hair right after she’s finished filming her role.
Anyway, since we’ve got two celebrities going short and blond within a week of each other, we wanted to know what your thoughts are on their makeovers. We’ve got Miley’s new look right after the jump, with a poll asking you who looks better — Jenna or Ms. Cyrus? Go ahead and vote! Read more…
If our husband were Channing Tatum, we’d make him take us on a romantic, sunny boat ride to make up for showing the entire world his butt, too! Then again, if our husband were Channing Tatum, we would constantly be encouraging him to show people his butt since, you know, he’s Channing Tatum. Don’t we get to brag on that butt a little? Hmmm, you know, the whole situation is a real Catch-22. A Channing-22, if you will. Luckily, Jenna Dewan had plenty of time to ponder the existential intricacies of her beloved’s big-screen pantslessness as the Magic Mike star and his bride motored around Italy’s Lake Como this weekend. The couple was visiting George Clooney and Stacy Kleibler at Clooney’s estate in Villa Oleandra, so at least Jenna had someone to commiserate with. Someone who understands her pain. Pain which is also sheer joy about your husband’s butt.
In addition to nautical pastimes, the two couples visited Bellagio and dined at Villa d’Este, which we are 98 percent certain are not the Italian names for Arby’s and Burger King. That’s where our partners typically take us by way of apology to us. Because they know and love us for who we really are. That’s what‘s all normal couples do, Right?

Call us out of the loop (never!) but we really didn’t know that the “Women In Film Crystal + Lucy Awards” were such a big deal. But so many stars turned up for the event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in L.A. that we sat up and took notice. Leading the way and looking like a young Bridget Bardot was Chloe Moretz. She was the recipient of the 2012 Women In Film Max Mara Face of the Future award and fittingly wore a Max Mara dress with Rupert Sanderson shoes, and a vintage bracelet by Susan Caplan. Also wearing Max Mara, but not to such a winning effect, was Jenna Dewan Tatum, in a pale jade jumpsuit with Jimmy Choo shoes, a Swarovski purse, and Irene Neuwirth jewels. Christina Applegate notched up the brand’s cred again, though. She received the Norma Zarky Humanitarian Award wearing a cherry red Max Mara dress with Louboutin heels. Stylin’!
That wasn’t by any means, the end of Max Mara’s reign on the red carpet. Cobie Smulders also wore the brand with a lovely blush-hued frock and a contrast waistband. Viola Davis was her usual best-dressed self wearing a Max Mara black strapless dress and ruby lips. Meryl Streep also had the brand’s “Elegante’” dress with a black grograin waistband on. Take a look at the gallery to see all our fashion picks!

We feel really bad for the ladies on the worst-dressed list at the MTV Movie Awards. A couple of tweaks to their outfits and they could have been on the best-dressed list, easily. None of the looks in this selection are heinous, except a few. Brooke Hogan would be one of the few. We can’t even begin to deal with her bedazzled, stomach-baring WTF of an ensemble. Another, would be Ciara, whose red Balmain mini-dress crosses the line from sexy short to wardrobe malfunction short. We get that the deep neckline and little skirt slit are supposed to be artful, but they looked ripped. Julianne Hough should be given the memo that a peplum is not necessary for everything. Especially not ’80s looking lace Sally LaPointe cut-out dress. They make the dancer look boxy when we know she isn’t at all. Bad silhouette.
Now on to the ones we truly feel sad about. We love Christina Ricci, but we feel she’s got so tiny that nothing fits her right anymore. Her Christian Siriano strapless number would have looked awesome if she could fill it out a little. As a result, the fabric swamps her and it, somehow, looks synthetic. Lucy Hale fell prey to that same problem. Her color-blocked Catherine Malandrino dress just didn’t sit right on her, which is shame, because Lucy is so lovely! We also beat our heads about Elizabeth Banks, whose sartorial flag normally flies high. We just coudn’t get on board with her black Elie Saab jumpsuit. The detail down the arms and bodice looked … spidery. Look, weird fashion stuff can also be amazing when people own it. She’s trying desperately to own this — we love the makeup and hair — but the outfit has run away with her. Better luck next time. That applies to all these ladies. Have a look at the gallery to see who else is on the list.
