Is Jennifer Lawrence suffering the fate of Anne Hathaway now that the awards season is over? Quite possibly. The actress is taking steps to not turn into the next Hathaway. She’s avoiding red carpets and simplifying her look and demeanor.
Who’s been wowing us on red carpets? Lindsay Lohan makes our dreams come true, and the bloopers from Anchorman 2 might be even funnier than the movie.
The talented stars rounding out this year’s contenders for the Academy’s acting categories have undoubtedly blown us away with their powerful roles. With such a strong crop of celebs vying for Oscar statues, it’s almost hard to believe that any of them have any film credits that don’t quite live up to what they’ve recently delivered to audiences.
But alas, plenty of 2014′s acting nominees have cringeworthy roles under their belts. So what are some of the worst flicks from this year’s hopefuls?
Kendall and Kylie Jenner are taking Mexico by storm, Mila Kunis reveals how she and Ashton Kutcher keep their love life interesting, and Anchorman 2 is going back to the big screen.
Elizabeth Banks can’t have her cake and eat it too, Bethenny Frankel is disappearing from daytime, and Michael Keaton is on board for a Beetlejuice sequel.
If you ever believed that you and your friends could lift the weight of a human body with only a combination of your index and middle fingers, some candles and heavy chanting, then you were probably a big fan of The Craft in the ’90s. That being the case, you definitely remember saving up for deep purple lipstick like Nancy wore in the movie. Yes, The Craft and the popularization of witch culture (eventually bleeding into fashion), saw many a pubescent girl with smudged purple lips that most likely looked more bruised than broodingly occult.
It’s been a while since Nancy and the girls did their magic, but once the spell was cast, there was no turning back. Now, witch inspired lipstick has been the calling card of many a movie star, pop singer and fashionista. Most recently, we saw Lorde clean up at the Grammys while wearing a rich shade of deep plum lipstick, and rocking a decidedly witchy vibe in her monochrome outfits and long black hair.
In celebration of our favorite witches, Lorde’s iconic Grammys wins, and the fact that we just can’t get enough plum shades on our lips, we’re taking a look at some of the best witch inspired lips of the past few years. These are some babes who know how to exfoliate.
Let’s not mince words here. American Hustle, more than anything, was a foray into the many and varied ways into which Amy Adams‘ cleavage could be exposed. From spangly dresses with plunging necklines to the more humble wrap around dress, Adams’ greatest assets were consistently and brazenly on display. Not that anyone is complaining.
The 2014 Golden Globe Awards are all wrapped up, and we’re about ready to grab our own cocktails after spending the evening watching actors drink. But first, we decided we should probably help those of you who’ve been boozing it up all night remember what was ACTUALLY funny (not just beer goggles funny) about everyone’s favorite drunk awards show. Whether it was laughs scripted for hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, spontaneous live-show errors (sorry, Wolf of Wall Street girl we don’t know) or awesome victory speeches (Matthew McConaughey ftw), the Globes lived up to their reputation. Here we count down the 10 most hilarious moments. (Also, here are the best GIFs of the Golden Globes.)
We’re wrapping up year three of our intense friendship with Jennifer Lawrence, and she doesn’t even know it. In the past 12 months, she’s racked up all the awards and Hunger Games: Catching Fire box office dollars every movie star dreams of, and her crazy good turn in American Hustle (in select theaters today, everywhere December 20) is just going to keep those kudos coming. But the SAG and Golden Globe nods are not what we’re really talking about here. It was in her many interviews, acceptance speeches and red carpet moments that Jen (she let’s us call her that, in our head) really convinced us that she’s the BFF we always wanted — always ready with a fart joke or a self-deprecating comment to brighten our day. We feel like we’ve been in those green rooms doing shots with her, hanging out at her place eating Cheetos, and whispering in her ear when our middle school celebrity crushes walk in the room. Is it healthy to think this way? Jen’s American Hustle co-stars and director David O. Russell were no help at all in dissuading us from our illusions. Watch them refuse to trash talk her above, and then reminisce with us about all the ways she made us think she’s one of us.
Which TV host revealed his family still sends fruit cakes during the holidays? Emmy Rossum strips down, and Katey Sagal gives us a peek into one of the main points of drama on Sons Of Anarchy.
