We’ve already begun squealing about the return of Jim Carrey in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone after the actor’s virtually acting-free 2012…and, um, those other years before that. That’s when we realized that a ton of our favorite celebs will be all over our big and small screens in 2013 (not to mention our internets, with all their interviews and such) after a dry spell. For example, according to IMDb, this year Carrie star Chloe Moretz and Oz the Great and Powerful lead James Franco return in seven and six film projects respectively. Natalie Portman and Rooney Mara have both been off the scene since 2010′s Black Swan and 2011′s Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. And Michael Cera? More Arrested Development means more sweet, sweet George Michael for your eyeballs.
Of course, some of these celebs seemed like they never left the limelight (see also: James Franco). Did you know Melissa McCarthy was in only one film in 2012? In Vanessa Hudgens‘ and Dwayne Johnson‘s case, it was the same film. (We didn’t know if either of them would bounce back from Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, but here we are.) Check the gallery below to find out more about their respective upcoming projects, and what other celebs we cannot wait to see more of this year.
We all get by with a little help from our friends, but celebs even more so. After all, Hollywood is a tough biz, and the only way to survive the ups and downs of Tinseltown is by surrounding yourself with a few true pals who will stick by your side in good times as well as during the bumps and slumps. We’ve long loved the enduring bond Oprah Winfrey and her BFF Gayle King share, and got teary-eyed this awards season watching Busy Phillips escort her nominated pal Michelle Williams to every event in town. And who can resist dudes like Tom Sturridge andRobert Pattinson and Jay-Z and Kanye West, who are always on hand to support each other’s personal and professional triumphs?
And then there are gals like Snooki and J-Woww, who have stuck by each other from day one in the Jersey Shore house. Through booze, bitch slaps, anonymous note-leaving, Vinny sex and drunken fights on the streets of Italy, they’ve never left each other’s side. The girls have a new reality show premiering tonight on MTV chronicling — what else? — the ups and downs of their friendship. In honor of their unbreakable bond, we’ve got 35 of the Most Adorable Celebrity Besties in the gallery below. Have a fave pair? Shout ‘em out in the comments.
Oscar who? The nominees for the the 2011 MTV Movie Awards -the only award show that REALLY matters- are fresh off the presses today! The Twilight Saga’s Eclipse came out on top, grabbing a total of eight nominations, followed by Inception with seven, and Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 with six. All are nominated for Best Movie, along with (you guessed it) Black Swan and The Social Network.
SNL’s Jason Sudeikis is set to host this year’s show, which airs on Sunday June 5th at 9 PM from Los Angeles. And judging from the nominees, it’s going to be heavy on the heart-trobs. The Best Male Performance category will feature Robert Pattinson’s jawline going head to head with fellow Twi-Bro Taylor Lautner’s rock hard abs. But that’s not all! Wiz-kid hottie Daniel Radcliffe will also be weighing in as well as Hollywood Homecoming King Zac Efron for his role in Charlie St. Cloud. And Jesse “For The Last Time I’m Not Michael Cera” Eisenberg, well…he’s just happy to be included (for The Social Network, natch).
For the ladies, Emma Watson and Kristen Stewart rep their mega-blockbuster supernatural franchises (Harry Potter and Twilight, respectively), alongside Natalie Portman for her Academy Award winning role in Black Swan, Emma Stone in her not-Academy Award winning role in Easy A, and Jennifer Aniston for her performance in Just Go With It.
But you don’t have to wait til June to get in on the MTV Movie Awards action. Visit MTV.comto cast your vote for your favorite nominees! Make your voice heard! Check out the complete list after the jump.
Apart from a few misses, we generally love Anne Hathaway’s (photos) sense of style, and her outfit at the L.A premiere for Rio on Sunday is probably going down as our favorite. Anne’s purple fringed Gucci dress and sexy gladiatrix stilettos have us drooling. We don’t exactly get the hipster glasses but she’s lovely enough to pull them off. But we’re counting on you to tell us whether we need to wear glasses for thinking they look good.
We’re also loving Will.I.Am‘s kicky sneakers with the inferno design. But more than anything else, we’re very grateful that Rodrigo Santoro showed up looking as drop-dead sexy as ever. Check out our gallery below for the low-down of celebrities who showed up for the event.

The FABLife is playing March Celebrity Madness this month, putting 64 of our favorite stars into brackets and having you vote to decide our ultimate FAB icon. First we’ll be pitting four similar celebs against each other in the divisionals, with the winners pairing (and squaring) off in our Sweet 16 until only one is left standing. It’s just like the NCAA, except…ok, it’s nothing like the NCAA.
Our second category concerns the handsome young men who starred in The Social Network: Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield and Armie Hammer. While JT is definitely the biggest star, Eisenberg has certainly made a strong impression in countless indie flicks and films whose titles end with “land.” Meanwhile, Garfield will fly across the screen as the new Spider-Man in 2012 and Hammer—who almost played Batman in a Justice League movie—will make whoopie with Leonardo DiCaprio in J. Edgar. They might not be making Mark Zuckerberg money, but none of them can complain. Which one is your favorite? The polls don’t close until Friday, March 25th, so vote early and vote often!
Though cleavage, high hems and backless gowns often garner all the attention at award shows, we’d like to take a minute to toast tuxedos and the studly actors who so nicely fill them out. Robert Pattinson (photos) notoriously goes from hobo to smokin’ hot for red carpet events, while Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp are veterans of formal affairs. Justin Bieber is surprisingly confident in a tux for a teenager and Ryan Gosling…well, he looks adorable in whatever he’s wearing. The Social Network‘s award season sweep continued at last night’s National Board Of Review gala, with the movie taking home Best Film, Best Actor (Jesse Eisenberg), Best Director (David Fincher) and Best Adapted Screenplay (Aaron Sorkin). Other winners included Another Year‘s Lesley Manville (Best Actress), Christian Bale (Best Supporting Actor) and Jennifer Lawrence (Breakthrough Performance). Not a lot of surprises, though the quickly forgotten Ryan Reynolds vehicle Buried got Best Original Screenplay and made the Board’s Top Ten Independent Films list. Guess we’ll go put that on our queue.
See photos of the winners, as well as stars like Blake Lively and Jennifer Garner, in the gallery below. Find out if The Social Network continues its winning streak at the Critics’ ChoiceMovie Awards, airing on VH1 this Friday.
