After the wild antics of last week, the most recent episode of Mad Men took a much darker turn when it dealt with the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. Between the race riots, general fear and loss of hope, this installment was so depressing that by the end we were longing for the good old days of straight up aimless existential despair. Needless to say, most of the characters were too bummed out to engage in their usual sex, drugs and rock shenanigans, but we tried our best to bring you the best (or worst) from Don and the gang.
Mad Men is known for being all buttoned down, black and white, class and sass. But in Sunday night’s Season 6 premiere we rang in the year 1968, which means we are smack dab in the heart of the The Sixties. You know: The colors, the drugs, the free love, the awesome music…and the unfortunate facial hair. So in honor of Don Draper’s arrival into this new era, we’ve decided to recap the show based on three critera: Sex, Drugs and Rock ‘n’ Roll!
APRIL 7 APRIL 7 APRIL 7! Did you get that? You better mark that date in your calendar with ink (no, no, with blood!) because that’s the day our beloved Mad Men returns to the airwaves for its 6th season on AMC! Show creator and drama virtuoso Matthew Weiner has been doing the press rounds, opening up on the latest developments and what we can expect from the surely-epic 2-hour premiere.
“This year it’s really constructed like a film,” he tells Entertainment Weekly. “It is its own story and hopefully it foreshadows the rest of the season…You should know what happened at the end of last season before you see the episode. The whole season is in reference to last season.” OK, sounds good Matt. But what about the plot!? Does Don cheat on his new wife Megan? Will Peggy return to the Sterling Cooper fold? Not surprisingly, he’s staying rather tight-lipped on the subject. But we’ll be counting down the days until we find out! These moody black and white promo photos will have to hold us over.

Excuse us while we let out a prolonged “duh!” Hunger Games franchise queen Jennifer Lawrence is beloved all over the world for her acting skillz, refreshing real talk and (of course) her gorgeous style and super hot bod. And now AskMen.com just bestowed upon her the title of Most Desirable Woman of the Year! 2012 has definitely been the year of the J-Law, since her record busting turn as Katniss Everdeen earlier this year. She’s covered W, Vogue and Elle magazine, become the new face of Dior, and most recently switched it up with the indie cred-getting Playbook Silver Linings. That’s a hell of a year for anyone, let alone a 22 year old!
And now she can add Most Desirable Woman to her impressive trophy stash! It’s a pretty serious honor when you consider her stiff competition, including the likes of pop goddess Rihanna, Esquire’s respective sexiest women of the year Miranda Kerr and Mila Kunis, runner/YouTube celebrity Michelle Jenneke and SI covergirl Kate Upton. Head on down to the gallery below to see how they ranked, and which other lovely ladies made it into the top 10.
Merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah, joyful Kwanzaa, and — why not? — happy birthday too, while you’re at it! It’s the holiday seasons, folks; the time of year for giving to our nearest and dearest. And for you, dear readers, we could think of no better gift than 100 of the sexiest bikini photos that this year had to offer! We’ve got some of everybody, and we do mean everybody. There might even been one of you in there. We’ve got that many!
Of course this uber-gallery is presided over by Beyonce, who ruled over our 2012 Bikini Awards just like she does with the rest of the known universe. In fact, she was able to defy time and win the coveted award with pics that were (technically) from 2011. That’s the power of Queen Bey! In addition to her, our list is chock-full of other pop queens like Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Lady Gaga, and big-screen A-listers like Scarlett Johansson, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Alba. TV personalities Maria Menounos and Angela Simmons made a strong showing, too. We’ve also got shots from the usual suspects like reality star Kim Kardashian, never-shy Twitter mama Adrianne Curry and Coco, the Patron Saint of Donks.
Some of our very own VH1 stars like Mob Wives’ Drita D’Avanzo and Basketball Wives’ Evelyn Lozada put in an appearance, as did Hunger Games leading lady (and our personal favorite) Jennifer Lawrence. Professional hotties Kate Upton and Brooklyn Decker look straight out of the pages of Sports Illustrated, while Victoria’s Secret Angels Miranda Kerr, Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima are simply heavenly.
So tear off the wrapping paper and dive in to our terrific 2012 retrospective of everyone’s favorite two-piece. Happy Holidays!

If Mad Men’s Jessica Pare only cultural contribution was the musical Prozac known as “Zou Bisou Bisou,” she’d still definitely deserve special mention on this site (and in the history books). But as it happens, she is also incredibly gorgeous and has gone on to become our TV heartthrob of the season. Yes we admit it: We have a crush on Don Draper’s new wife. And if he found out, he’d probably make this face.
Thanks to the sixties setting of the show, we’re used to seeing Jessica rocking seriously groovy classic vintage styles. In fact, it’s kind of gotten to the point that we sometimes totally forget that Ms. Pare exists right now in 2012! And she still looks just as gorgeous as she did in 1966. How many people can say that!? (OK, maybe Cher…) In honor of Jessica’s 30th birthday today, we’ve assembled 20 pictures of her being wayyy too hot for the old fashion world of Mad Men, where the miniskirt is still causing heart attacks. We can’t even imagine what Don would say if he ever saw her scandalous not-safe-for-Sterling-Cooper scene in Hot Tub Time Machine. But whatever he does, it would probably also involve this face.

This is the time of year where we show thanks and gratitude for all of the things that brought us joy and gave our lives meaning in the past year. So naturally, we chose to highlight this piece of forgotten pop perfection unearthed by Mad Men for its long awaited season-five premiere. In the words of Popeye, we are what we are. When Don Draper’s (Jon Hamm) gorgeous new wife Megan (Jessica Pare) stepped into the spotlight to serenade her husband with the 1960 French minor hit “Zou Bisou Bisou,” our mouths dropped. Not only had we never heard anything so cloyingly sweet, upbeat and peppy in our entire lives, but we were definitely not expecting it on a show that can be as soul-crushingly depressing as Mad Men.
Yes, it is literally impossible to feel bad while listening to this track. Don’t believe us? Well, to prove it we’ve assembled the top 10 saddest movie scenes of all time in the video above. Mufasa’s death in The Lion King? E.T. returning to his home planet? Noah and Allie’s farewell in The Notebook? Artax’s demise in The Neverending Story?* Trust us, these moments don’t stand a chance again the unfailingly optimistic and effervesent tune that will get lodged into your skull for months. So whenever you’re having a rough day, just remember this song: It’ll cheer you right up! Or at least make you so annoyed that you’ll forget whatever was troubling you…
*Note: Does not work with the opening few minutes of Up.
Mr. and Mrs. Draper in Hawaii? The possibilities are endless! Imagine if Mad Men — just for a moment — shed its serious vibe and did a Gidget/Elvis/Brady Bunch-style romp. Well, probably not. Imagine if Jon Hamm had similar difficulty hiding his, er, gifts, as he had on the streets of New York and Boston. Er, no such luck. OK, how about Jessica Pare showing off her flawless skin and body in a super cute floral bikini while Jon gives us a good look at his chest in all its unwaxed glory? Success! Actually, these pics, from the first shoot of the show’s season six premiere, are rather promising. Don and Megan look like they’re trying to smooth out the difficulties their career-related fights caused at the end of last season, but we bet there will still be a considerable amount of tension between them too. Come up with your own theories on what will go down in the Aloha State when you look at these pics:

You can always count on VH1 to ask celebrities the most important questions on the red carpet. We headed to the Emmys with one mission and one mission only: to get as many stars as possible to sing their favorite TV theme songs. After all there are SO many good ones! Just try to pick your favorite. Cheers, Friends, The Jeffersons, Punky Brewster, Facts of Life, Welcome Back Kotter, New Girl, the amazing instrumental jams of The Cosby Show and Beverly Hills, 90210 — can you choose just one? The stars we talked to at the Emmys gave it their best shot and some even sang their picks because really, that’s the only way to do it. Wanna see what it looks like when Hank (Dean Norris) from Breaking Bad sings The Brady Bunch theme song? How about The Amazing Race’s Phil Keoghan singing Gilligan’s Island? Yeah, we thought so. Click on, friends.
Let’s be real. Comedic geniuses and BFFs IRL Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have never looked better. Flaunting their figures in Vivienne Westwood and Stella McCartney frocks respectively, the pair looked confident, sexy and positively radiant. Whatever you’re doing, ladies, it’s working.
Other red carpet highlights included Kat Dennings‘ flawlessly foxy red-on-red look and Heidi Klum‘s doubly sky-high slits. Mad Men‘s Jessica Pare took a page from the Megan Draper fashionable playbook and rocked a custom Jason Wu black and white ensemble.
