From Kaley Cuoco To Julianna Margulies, So Many Celebs Went Goth At The Golden Globes

Goth Fashion at the Golden Globes

E!’s Ryan Seacrest kept predicting the Golden Globes red carpet would be a rainbow of color. While we love, love, loved the pops of vibrant color we did see, we were completely surprised by the sea of black, dark lipstick and Gothic details. From Kaley Cuoco‘s purple lip to Giuliana Rancic‘s Victorian gown, celebs took it dark on the red carpet. Seriously, both Julianna Margulies and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley are basically high-fashion dominatrices. Dominatri? What we’re trying to say is, middle school us would be all about these Goth looks.

From Snakes On A Plane To Gigli: The Least Award-Worthy Roles Of The 2013 Golden Globe Nominees

The least awards-worthy roles for 2013 Golden Globes nominees

The nominees for the 2013 Golden Globes were announced bright and early this morning, and the list didn’t feature a ton of surprises. Perhaps the most surprising part is that these men and women have all kept truckin’ with their acting careers despite having made some hilariously bad role choices in the past. Congrats guys, you’re an illustration of the enduring human spirit! Or maybe you all just got better agents…

To be fair, folks like Leonardo DiCaprio, Helen Hunt and Joaquin Phoenix when they made their turkeys, so they didn’t know any better. But not everyone in this list has that excuse! Ben Affleck might have a GG nod for best director with Argo, but it still doesn’t excuse the fact that he helped bring Gigli to life. And why have we all forgotten that The Good Wife’s Julianna Margulies was in Snakes On A Plane, or that Alec Baldwin appeared as Mr. Conductor in the children’s train movie Thomas And The Magic Track? It’s pretty priceless!

Let’s dive deep into the IMDB page of these acclaimed thespians and pull out some truly amazing forgotten films. It’s like cinematic naked baby photos! And always remember: You too can still rise to the top, even if you’ve made a movie as bad as She-Devil.

Claire Danes, January Jones And More Of Our Fave TV Actresses Class Up The Hollywood Reporter

Hollywood Reporter Cover, TV actresses

This is quite a cover. We have Claire Danes, Mireille Enos, January Jones, Julianna Margulies, Emmy Rossum and Kyra Sedgwick looking so incredibly elegant on next month’s The Hollywood Reporter. That’s HomelandThe Killing, Mad Men, The Good WifeShameless and The Closer repped respectively. Talk about your power television sextet. We know these lovely ladies all do films as well, but the TV angle is the one that smacks you in the face. The interview — or round table discussion — has everything from Jones discussing “Fat Betty” to Rossum talking nude scenes to Enos talking about kissing Brad Pitt. That last bit especially caught our attention, with the actress admitting, “Is it wrong to admit that having to kiss Brad Pitt was very, very terrifying? It was on World War Z, which I shot last summer and it was the second day of shooting.” We’d take her place anytime.

We actually laughed out loud at January’s description of the moment she first saw the heavier version of her Mad Men character onscreen. “I saw it on the air, paused it and went screaming into the other room,” she jokes. And where else are you going to get Emmy saying, with regard to her nude scenes, “But originally, when they made the contract it was like, “You will show partial side boob, you will show two cheeks …” Julianna chimed in with, “Those contracts are always so funny.” Read the full interview here to get your fix, because it gets much funnier.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Julianna Margulies Make A Literal Splash At Cosmopolis Premiere

Kristen Stewart, Tom Sturridge, Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche, Julianna Margulies at the Cannes premiere of Cosmopolis

From what we can tell, David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis is not the side-splitting comedy of the summer. And yet, the photos coming out of the photocall and premiere of the film at Cannes make it seem like the fest’s funniest event yet. Maybe that’s due to star Robert Pattinson’s relentless red-carpet face-making. Or due to the fact that it was pouring at the premiere, and the celebrities in attendance, like Julianna Margulies, could do nothing but laugh at how drenched their gorgeous gowns were getting.

Other random celebs mugging for the cameras at the premiere included Cuba Gooding Jr., Bonnie Wright and Kelly Rutherford. Model Natasha Poly showed the most daring amount of skin at the event, but she had a surprising rival in the side-boob game: none other than Kristen Stewart, in a plunging red Reem Acra stunner. She arrived ahead of her boyfriend and was instead on the arm of pal (and her On the Road co-star) Tom Sturridge.

10 Best-Dressed At The Cannes AmfAR “Cinema Against AIDS” Gala, With One Bonus Addition

Best-dressed at Cannes amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala

We always have such high hopes for the annual amfAR “Cinema Against AIDS” gala that happens at Cannes. It’s normally a fashion extravaganza and there’s always a celebrity or two who ends up surprising us. This year, some of the picks on this list did surprise us. Because our regular sartorial favorites — like Nina Dobrev (who fell short in an electric blue, sequined Elie Saab column) — didn’t make it, and Kim Kardashian did. Still, we have to give props where they’re due and Kim worked it in this mustard Elie Saab and old Hollywood red lips, The color is perfect against her skin tone, the fit is great and even though the girls and the gams are out to play, it’s still all very tastefully done.

The models also really stood out with Doutzen Kroes wearing a futuristic and very flattering white Versace gown with silver detailing. Irina Shayk was sheer elegance in a sweeping, taupe Roberto Cavalli gown with gorgeous emerald jewelry. Also spotted look their very best were Kylie Minogue in tangerine Emilio Pucci and  Rose McGowan who paid homage to her name in a rose-pink Atelier Versace gown with Chopard jewels. Look at the rest of the fabulously dressed stars in our gallery below. We also have one bonus picture for you. She’s not a celebrity, but a celebrity’s fiance but really deserved to be on the best-dressed list as well. Click after the jump to see who she is.

Fashion At The Tribeca Ball: Who Was Fab, Who Was Meh And Who Was Awful?

We’d like to save the best for last, so we’re going to start with who didn’t hit the mark at last night’s Tribeca Ball in New York. The event was honoring Robert de Niro, FYI, and was held at the New York Academy of Art. We’ll start with Solange Knowles on the left. Love the coral lips and print blouse, but not exactly loving those high-waisted, shiny trousers. Taking “shiny” to a whole new level is Carla Gugino, in the middle. She’s such a beautiful woman, but that bouffant hair is all wrong, especially when paired with that red, satin dress. We get she was trying to go retro, but couldn’t get it right. Then there’s Paz de la Huerta on the right. We don’t even know what to say, or where to begin. Just … NO.

We’re moving on to the meh pile next, which comprises Padma Lakshmi and Helena Christensen. To see what they wore, and what we have to say, click after the jump. The best dressed lot also awaits you! Read more…

The Golden Globes Back Story: 20 Of The Sexiest Backs On The Red Carpet

Swooping cowls, cut-outs, drapes, racer-backs, sheer lace work … Golden Globe gowns were as sexy from the back as they were in front this year. Whether it was Lea Michele‘s sheer silver Marchesa to co-star Dianna Agron’s and Evan Rachel Wood’s avian-inspired, red-hot lacy Giles Deacon dress and Gucci Premiere emerald gown, respectively —- the back is officially back. A couple of other favorites include a Glee actress again. Naya Rivera stunned in a silver Vera Wang gown which had a lovely keyhole back. We also truly appreciated the back view of Kathleen Robertson’s Maria Lucia Hohan dress, Stacey Keibler’s stunning Valentino, Kate Beckinsale’s Roberto Cavalli and Heidi Klum’s sexy Calvin Klein. Click through our gallery for the all the different looks and let us know what you think.

The 2011 Emmy Worst Dressed List: And The Award For Hottest Mess Goes To…

While the 2011 Emmy Best Dressed list might contain some undeniably gorgeous ensembles, the Emmy Worst Dressed List is equally long and illustrious. From Gwyneth Paltrow‘s midriff-baring goth prom dress to Paz de la Huerta‘s lavender lip gloss and runaway weave to James Woods‘ apparent Botox overdose, the stars were getting hot and sloppy at the 63rd Annual Emmy Awards. The question, of course, is: who was the hottest and the sloppiest?

10 Emmy Winners Looking Like They Just Stole An Emmy

Despite being up against super talented and perhaps just-as-worthy candidates in their respective categories at the Emmy Awards tonight, each of the winners pictured below won fair and square (to the best of our potentially naive knowledge). And yet, when photographed in the press room with their just-nabbed golden trophy, Melissa McCarthy, Peter Dinklage, Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen (among others) rocked faces of guilt, sneakiness, and paranoia.
What gives, Emmy champs?! Nobody’s gonna still your hardware! See nine very suspicious actors below. [Photos: Getty Images]

Stars Style Up For Metropolitan Opera Premiere

Who knew there were so many gorgeous Rossini fans out there? The Metropolitan Opera’s premiere of the composer’s Le Comte Ory paid host to lots of lovely ladies last night, including Olivia Munn, Claire Danes, Emmy Rossum and Claudia Schiffer, as well as haggard hipster icons Lou Reed, Patti Smith and Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen, who may want to reconsider the “matching circular sunglasses” look, among other things. Are all these people big opera fans or do they just like to show off their style at classy soirees? Either way, we’re not complaining.

See what everyone wore to the Met in the gallery below.
