Anne Hathaway, Claire Danes, Kaley Cuoco Reign Top 10 Worst-Dressed List At SAG Awards

Top 10 Worst-Dressed At SAG Awards

This is totally ruining our high over the SAG Awards best-dressed list, but it has to be done. Also, how is it possible that Anne Hathaway swings so wildly between getting it so right, and so wrong — nothing in between. Sadly, she got it so wrong at the awards show last night wearing a twee, frothy, half-sheer Giambattista Valli Couture dress that just didn’t do anything for us apart from making us say, “Why, Anne?” We do love her accessories in the form of her Jimmy Choo ‘Kalpa’ heels and her black Edie Parker clutch. We may be a tad harsh on Jessica Chastain as well — but it’s only because her people never seem to get fits right on her. The red McQueen gown maybe a beautiful, but it looks like it wants to crush her breasts, and to add insult to injury, it looks rumpled. We really don’t like the Harry Winston diamond necklace on her, either. It’s the wrong piece for the dress. Also, twee and in the same color, was Kaley Cuoco whose red lace Ramona Kaveeza dress made her look like a doily, even though her red velvet Giuseppe Zanotti heels gave her cred. Does anyone else think the new haircut with the bangs looks like a wig?

Rose Byrne was the wrong woman for her Valentino Resort 2013 gown because the fabric and the ruffles made her look matronly.  And while her hair and makeup were sweet and retro, Claire Danes went in the opposite direction with deep maroon lips that just looked incredibly harsh on her. They put us off, and her black Givenchy didn’t exactly impress either. Neither did Julianne Moore‘s Chanel Couture Fall 2011 gown, which like Jessica’s, had a major fit problem as well. Let’s just say the bodice took its cues from the name of the awards show and made her look like she was sagging. There’s more on the list, so carry on to the gallery to have a look.

Pastel Palettes Are A Big Trend On The Golden Globes Red Carpet

Pastel And White Trend At 2013 Golden Globes

While goth was a major trend at the Golden Globes last night, another major direction that the fashion was inclined towards was the diametrically opposite — pastels. Shimmering nudes, pretty neutrals, and creamy white were all spotted on stars providing a wonderful foil to the ever-prevelant black. Leading this brigade was Amy Adams in a romantic nude Marchesa gown with a tulle fishtail complete with Tiffany & Co. jewelery. Isla Fisher also chose a nude palette but sparkled thanks to beaded embroidery that was sewn all over her love Reem Acra gown. Amanda Seyfried was another highlight in a shell, flowing, lace-panelled Givenchy Couture custom-made gown which had us sold. Megan Fox nailed it, as well, in a blush-colored, strapless Dolce & Gabbana dress with Jimmy Choo shoes, Lorraine Schwartz jewelery and a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch. Bringing in the sexy were, who else, but Jennifer Lopez and Lea Michele. J.Lo worked it like a pro, pouring her curves in a nude Zuhair Murad long-sleeved gown covered in ivory lace overlay. Lea went her regular route by showing off some leg, but still looked quite lovely in a white, halter-necked, textured Elie Saab gown and bag paired with Lorraine Schwartz jewels and Giambattista Valli heels. Heidi Klum also showed off some major stems in a one-shouldered white Alexandre Vauthier gown with gold, embellished trim.

Adding little washes of pastel color were Kelly Osbourne and Nicole Richie. Kelly chose a mint green, fishtail Zac Posen gown that somehow, ended up working with her lavender hair. She buffed up her outfit with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, a Judith Leiber bag and Jacob & Co jewels. Nicole, on the other hand, was elegant in an vintage-looking, old-Hollywood inspired, pale blue and white Naeem Khan gown. She even worked in pale blue eyeshadow — how’s that for retro? Check out all our looks compiled in the gallery below and tell us who got the thumbs-up.

From Kaley Cuoco To Julianna Margulies, So Many Celebs Went Goth At The Golden Globes

Goth Fashion at the Golden Globes

E!’s Ryan Seacrest kept predicting the Golden Globes red carpet would be a rainbow of color. While we love, love, loved the pops of vibrant color we did see, we were completely surprised by the sea of black, dark lipstick and Gothic details. From Kaley Cuoco‘s purple lip to Giuliana Rancic‘s Victorian gown, celebs took it dark on the red carpet. Seriously, both Julianna Margulies and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley are basically high-fashion dominatrices. Dominatri? What we’re trying to say is, middle school us would be all about these Goth looks.

Olivia Munn Gives Taylor Swift Her People's Choice Award

Awards Season 2013 kicked off tonight with the People’s Choice Awards on CBS, and while we didn’t get any nip slips or f-bombs or other kind of flubs, host Kaley Cuoco and a cavalcade of stars kept it moving with some solid banter. From Ellen DeGeneres‘ Mayan prediction to Chris Colfer‘s fanfic shout-out, our favorite gems (other than Sandra Bullock‘s tear-jerking Favorite Humanitarian Award’s speech; we’re not going to try to recapture it) included…

Ashley Greene, Kaley Cuoco, Selma Blair Prove Hollywood’s Ladies Get Genteel For Polo

Third Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic

Nothing like a spot of polo over the weekend. It all looks so elegant with the pretty dresses, tea and champagne. And hot polo players. The Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic is an annual affair that most of Hollywood’s ladies turn up for because it’s such great fashion exposure for them. By the looks of it, this year was the third time in a row they threw a quite successful event, held at the Will Rogers State Historic Park in Pacific Palisades, California. Ashley Greene led the festivities in a gorgeous white Antonio Berardi bandage dress with nude pumps by Giuseppe Zanotti. Kaley Cuoco looked light and summery in a printed Brian Rennie for Basler dress — love the pocket detailing. Rose McGowan was there too, wearing a purple Philip Lim jumpsuit, Brian Atwood shoes and a Bruno Magli clutch. Mandy Moore wore almost the same shade, but in a printed dress version by Lela Rose with Christian Loubotin heels. Our best-dressed goes to Alessandra Ambrosio who wore an amazing color-blocked, maxi BCBGMAXAZRIA dress. We’re also totally feeling Selma Blair‘s Skaist Taylor blue jumpsuit and Marc Jacobs sandals.

Yellow Trends At The Emmy Awards, We’re Not Sure If That’s A Good Thing

Trend: Yellow Gowns At The Emmys

We’re normally quite happy to see bright citrus colors on any red carpet, but this year’s Emmy Awards may have changed all of that. Who doesn’t love yellow, right? Us, normally, but this time the shade was anything but a ray of sunshine at the event. Claire Danes‘ Lanvin toga-gone-wrong (we’re weeping that it’s a Lanvin) and Julianne Moore‘s Dior Couture fancy nun’s habit already got them on this year’s worst-dressed list. Coming this close to being added on that list is Julie Bowen, whose Monique Lhullier gown looked jarring on her, especially since her hair was all wrong. Kelli Garner was a tad more on the mustard side of the shade card, but her dress was drapes gone all wrong, mismatched makeup and silver shoes that should not have been put on her feet. Getting it somewhat right was the gorgeous Hannah Simone whose one-shouldered romantic, custom Emilio Pucci dress was a step in the correct direction. We just wished someone had pulled the bodice up a little because it makes her girls look droopy and lumpy because of the ruching on the bodice. Loving her Lorraine Schwartz gold leaf earrings, though. Kaley Cuoco came close too, with her sunshine Angel Sanchez dress. The fit let her down again, but the messy braid and rose pink lipstick are ace! The only person who got yellow completely right was the unknown-on-these-shores, Renee Bargh, who is an Australian television presenter. She worked it in a simple strapless gown and gold circle necklace. Take note, ladies.

Nora Ephron Remembered For Her Inspiring By Generations Of Celebs

Nora Ephron dies at ages 71

Oh man, this has hit plenty of people pretty hard. Amazing screenwriter, director, author and three-time Oscar winner Nora Ephron died of leukemia last night at 71. Where would movie history be without classics like Sleepless in SeattleWhen Harry Met Sally and You’ve Got Mail? Not only was she a genius in the romantic-comedy genre, but she could also write a hell of a drama— Silkwood. She could write beautifully, period. Her essay collection I Feel Bad About My Neck is also evidence of that.

Considering her career spanned decades, she also ended up inspiring many generations of stars, and made some very close friends in the business, along the way. They’re all grieving over her sudden, sad passing. Close pal, Meryl Streep, told the New York Times, “You could call on her for anything: doctors, restaurants, recipes, speeches, or just a few jokes, and we all did it, constantly. She was an expert in all the departments of living well.” There have also been a series of tweets from a diverse selection of celebrities, all expressing their sorrow. Steve Martin wrote, “She was the one you wanted to read, to listen to, to be in the company of. Nora Ephron. Incomparable wit; delightful friend. Sadness reigns.” One of the younger celebrities, inspired by her career, Kaley Cuoco has tweeted, “RIP Nora Ephron Loved her work Loved her direction Loved her writing Blessings and thoughts to her family.”

We have a selection of tweets after the jump from people like Bette Midler, Jessica Biel, Debra Messing, Russell Simmons and Sarah Silverman. Justin Timberlake‘s tweet is right below. Our sincere condolences go out to her family and friends. She sounded like one incredible lady.

7 Questionable Looks From The 2012 SAG Awards Red Carpet

It’s unfortunate that three ladies from Glee have made it to this SAG Awards list but we can assure you that they’re all on for very valid reasons. We’ll tackle Lea Michele first. It’s odd that she’s on here because she’s been doing so well with red carpet fashion lately, but our problem with her silver-grey Versace get-up she chose tonight is that it washed her out. A brighter lip, perhaps? A different colored shoe? But our biggest issue is with that hip-high slit, which looked tacky. Diva, please!

Then there’s Heather Morris, whose Masai Payan dress just doesn’t work because one half looks like it’s made from pleather and the other half is sheer panels that look confused. Her hairstyle ages her unnecessarily, too. Finishing up the trio is Jenna Ushkowitz in Rebecca Minkoff. The mixture of florals and the sheer paneling, again, makes it a fail.

Rose Byrne wore one of her favorite designers (Elie Saab) but picked a white jumpsuit completely encrusted with sequins, slashed down the front. We have a problem with jumpsuits on red carpets as it is, and this one is just not good. We also don’t know what Busy Philipps was thinking? That much boho is a no-no. We wouldn’t wear this to the beach, let alone an awards show. Shailene Woodley wore a floral L’Wren Scott, but didn’t pay much attention to her hair or makeup. As a result, the dress looked a bit like an arts and crafts project on her. Rounding up the list is Kaley Cuoco whose feathered Ramona Keveza combined with the braided hair borders on milkmaid territory. Could any of these looks be salvaged, or should they just be savaged? Let us know in the comments section!

Kaley Cuoco Is Engaged

The Big Bang Theory‘s resident hottie Kaley Cuoco is engaged to boyfriend and addiction specialist Josh Resnik. Her spokesperson confirmed the news to People, saying, “the surprise proposal took place during a quiet date night at home. The couple are very happy and excited to begin planning their wedding.” (BTW, before hooking up with Josh, Kaley dated her TBBT co-star, Jonathan Galecki for two years and they split up last year in September.)

Happy responses to the news are pouring in on her Twitter feed, and Kaley tweeted, just a couple of hours ago, “Thanks to everyone’s well wishes! So sweet and means a lot to us!” They haven’t set a date just yet, but we’re sure they’ll release more details in coming months. Congratulations, you two!

Ashley Tisdale, Keri Hilson Get Nude, Photoshopped For Allure

In case you were wondering why Keri Hilson, Ashely Tisdale, Bridget Moynahan and Kaley Cuoco stripped down for these Allure nude celebrity photos, the answer is: to demonstrate the Blur tool in Adobe Photoshop C4. We mean, to show how comfortable they are in their skin! In all seriousness, Hilson’s head looks like it belongs on the alien at the beginning of Katy Perry‘s E.T. video; there is not a person alive who’s chin looks like that when they’re lying down. What’s worse, apparently Kaley Cuoco borrowed Lady Gaga‘s skinny monster torso from the Bad Romance video. Don’t forget to pick up your skeletal ribcage for summer!

We already know these ladies are fine as the day is long; did we really need to have every skin imperfection and stray hair completely erased from their bodies?  If we want to see plastic hotties, we’ll buy a Bratz Doll. “I’ve always wanted to be sure my parents approve of what I do,” Tisdale said, explaining why her mother accompanied her to the shoot. Considering Ashley looks like she has the starring role in Mannequin 2: One The Move alongside Meshach Taylor, we’re sure her mom is all kinds of proud.

See Ashley and Keri’s photos from the Allure photo shoot in the gallery below.
