The biggest party of the Broadway season went down on Sunday night at Radio City Music Hall. In addition to Hugh Jackman hopping and T.I. rapping lyrics from The Music Man — oh yes, that happened — attendees brought out dramatic colors and ever louder headgear for the annual celebration of theater.

2012! The year of The (supposed) Apocalypse. The year of “Call Me Maybe” (which may be related to the Apocalypse, who really knows?). And, finally, the year of a few ill-fated celebrity hookups. Call them flings or fleeting romances or however else you hold on to your faith in true love, from Skrillex and Ellie Goulding to Russell Brand and Ginger Spice, these are the celebs who got together and then quickly broke apart this very year:
We’ve seen what lots of crossover stars wore on the Emmys red carpet. By that we mean actresses who we’ve seen in films but have lead roles in major television dramas now. Like Ginnifer Goodwin (love the orange gown), Zooey Deschanel and Claire Danes (yellow gown fail, sadly.) We even saw the grand Jessica Lange winning ‘Best Supporting Actress In A Miniseries’ for American Horror Story and Julianne Moore (another yellow misstep, but love her anyway) who won ‘Best Actress In A Miniseries’ for Game Change. But there were other bonafide movie stars attending the event — ladies who we associate with the film world even if they dabble on the TV world. Nicole Kidman led the way looking statuesque in a white Antonio Berardi column with aqua sequined overlay. It’s unusual, and we still have to mull over whether we like it or not. Kate Mara requires no mulling over because she looked fabulous in a soft, vintage-looking Badgley Mischka dress with Christian Louboutin shoes. Ashley Judd, sadly, took us to the other end of the like spectrum: dislike. Her plum custom Carolina Herrera did her no favors and she looked fussy and matronly, especially with that bouffant up-do. Lucy Liu brought the glam right back in a metallic mesh Versace column. Trust her to set it straight again. We end on a low note though — saving the not-so-best for last. Amanda Peet, why would you wear this? The lovely actress looked washed out and insipid in an ill-fitting pale pink Calvin Klein gown. Want a closer look? Head on to our gallery.

The last major boyfriend that we kept hearing about before Drew Barrymore started dating, and eventually married Will Kopelman was Justin Long. They were, allegedly, on and off, but always looked so adorable when spotted together. But life goes on, and Drew is expecting her first baby with her new hubby, and sources are abuzz with the fact that Justin has a new main squeeze as well. Apparently, the actor is dating Rooney Mara‘s older sister, Kate Mara. It’s reportedly a “very new relationship,” and the duo were seen getting their couple on in New York this weekend, where Kate took him out for his birthday, according to Us Weekly.
That was on the second of this month, FYI. Coincidentally, that’s also the same day Drew got married! So her wedding anniversary is on his birthday, which has to be a tiny bit weird, right? No? OK — back to the happy bit. The couple that watches musicals together, stays together. That’s our new thing. Long and Mara went to see Jesus Christ Superstar on Broadway late last month. A source reveals, “They were awesome and came backstage after to meet the cast.” We can totally see this working out. They look cute together!

Hey, do you think there are any actresses who’d like to be in the sequel to the biggest non-James Cameron movie ever? Casting for The Dark Knight Rises is well underway, with The Hollywood Reporter revealing a shortlist of the ladies auditioning for roles in the film. While no one’s saying if previously featured parts like Catwoman, Poison Ivy or Vicki Vale are making a return to the franchise, word is Talia, daughter of Batman Begins baddie Ra’s Al Ghul and enthusiast for skin-tight body suits, is going to play a part in Rises. If there’s another part available, we’re guessing its Sexy Villainess In Tight Clothing or Sexy Gainfully Employed Woman In A Frustrating Relationship With Bruce Wayne.
Check out the gallery below to see all the women who could potentially be joining Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Inception’s Tom Hardy (one of our Biggest Bad-Asses Of 2010) in the guaranteed Bat-smash.
