We’ve heard of establishments with a “No Shirt, No Service” rule and we’ve heard of swanky restaurants with a “Jacket Required” pre-requesiate. We’ve never heard of a place where you have to wear a jacket, but go topless, but according to this year’s sexiest magazine covers, it’s the latest and greatest fashion trend that will never hit the mainstream.
Did Diddy or didn’t Diddy? That is the question concerning his alleged hookup with Bikini Queen Kate Upton! The two were reportedly seen getting more-than-friendly at the Miami nightclub LIV, living it up in the VIP section late last month, and now they’ve apparently reunited in New York this week.
OK, last night’s Super Bowl featured plenty of the old-school ads: a woman in a bikini advertising the “topless” Fiat, guys doing ridiculous things to get good luck for their team, Bar Refaeli kissing a nerd (god, we still can’t get that sound out of our heads!). But as if to match Beyonce and her all-female band, the commercials seemed to be heavily tilted towards women (and the sensitive men we love), at least compared to most sporting events. (Which, duh, in 2011 and 2012, ladies made up 45 percent of the Super Bowl TV audience, so it’s about damn time!) We already had a hint that this was happening last week, when we got sneak peeks at the Seth Rogen/Paul Rudd-led Samsung ad and the “Space Babies” Kia commercial. Here are more of our favorites:
1. Calvin Klein “Concept”
This one wins the prize for most gratuitous use of a topless model, male or female. But we’d be lying if we said we didn’t rewind it at least once. Read more…
A lot of celebrities had double duty on Saturday night as there were a number of Super Bowl parties happening in New Orleans, most notably the GQ Super Bowl Party with Lil Wayne performing and the DIRECTV Celebrity Beach Bowl, where Justin Timberlake brought Jay-Z onstage. The celebs at the earlier party were pretty casual, but they cleaned up quite nicely for the evening to-do. Except Josh Hutcherson and Chace Crawford, who showed up in denim and a baseball cap and a lot of facial scruff, respectively. They should have taken style cues from Ryan Kwanten and Matt Bomer who both nailed it in sharp suits.
Of course, our eyes were trained on one very gorgeous Ian Somerhalder who turned out in a simple black shirt and jeans. Simple … but perfect, as always. The two ladies in attendance also did quite nicely. Kate Upton slicked on some red lipstick, twisted her hair up in a messy updo and slid into some skinny black pants, a leather bomber jacket and a pair of dark cherry-pointed pumps. Can’t really go wrong with that, right? Hayden Panettiere also took on a three-piece combination but topped hers with a white blazer and beautifully ironed shiny hair. The piece de resistance was her neon orange pumps. It takes a lot to upstage Kate, but we think Hayden managed it. Have a look at our gallery below to see full-length pictures of everyone in attendance.
Just last week, the new Mercedes Super Bowl ad was all about Kate Upton washing the swankin’ new car in slow motion. Of course, there was talk of it being pulled off the air because it was too sexy for audiences. Has that talk achieved its purpose? Because the extended cut of the advertisement — see it above — has been released and there’s a lot less Kate in it, and she’s also a lot more clothed! At the same time, we love this ad and you will too, even with Kate being in it for five seconds. Set to the soundtrack of Sympathy For The Devil by The Rolling Stones, the story’s about your regular, everyday Joe being tempted in the form of the always awesome Willem Dafoe, portraying Lucifer. Lucifer offers him everything — money, beautiful women (that’s where a Marilyn Monroe-esque Kate is featured,) fame (he parties and dances with Usher) and the fast life. Will average Joe take up the offer? That remains to be seen. Watch the video!
Kate Upton found herself facing a ban from the small screen last year for her questionably smutty Carl’s Jr. hamburger ad. And now history is repeating itself as her latest TV spot for Mercedes-Benz is feared too sexy for broadcast during the Super Bowl. Wait, what? Are you serious? What does that even mean!? You guys, this will not stand! Banning a Kate Upton ad for being too sexy? That’s like banning Thin Mints for being too delicious!
The ad in question features a short shorts and tank top clad Upton washing and blowing bubbles at a brand new Mercedes CLA. Oh, in slow motion. We forgot that part. It’s sort of like a really hot lava lamp (is that mean? that sounds mean). We’ve helpfully posted it at the top of the post. Check it out and judge for yourself! And then head on down to the gallery below while you’re at it to relive some of Kate’s steamiest moments!

We’re not trying to tell Vogue Germany what to do here, but when you’ve landed Kate Upton for a photo shoot, you don’t need a bunch of elaborate sets and background dressing. Be real, the work just kind of takes care of itself. Just look at Terry Richardson’s pics with the buxom Sports Illustrated bikini model. It looks like he took them in his mother’s basement! So when we saw that Vogue Germany took the uber fancy route and posed Upton in front of a vintage Ferarri, on the back of a huge swan, and in the feild of some rambling estate, it prompted us to offer some helpful advice to the magazine: You’re overdoing it.
Excuse us while we let out a prolonged “duh!” Hunger Games franchise queen Jennifer Lawrence is beloved all over the world for her acting skillz, refreshing real talk and (of course) her gorgeous style and super hot bod. And now AskMen.com just bestowed upon her the title of Most Desirable Woman of the Year! 2012 has definitely been the year of the J-Law, since her record busting turn as Katniss Everdeen earlier this year. She’s covered W, Vogue and Elle magazine, become the new face of Dior, and most recently switched it up with the indie cred-getting Playbook Silver Linings. That’s a hell of a year for anyone, let alone a 22 year old!
And now she can add Most Desirable Woman to her impressive trophy stash! It’s a pretty serious honor when you consider her stiff competition, including the likes of pop goddess Rihanna, Esquire’s respective sexiest women of the year Miranda Kerr and Mila Kunis, runner/YouTube celebrity Michelle Jenneke and SI covergirl Kate Upton. Head on down to the gallery below to see how they ranked, and which other lovely ladies made it into the top 10.
