Twilight Stars’ Post-BD2 Careers: Whose Slate Is Full, Who’s Searching Help Wanted?

Some of the Twilight stars have plenty of movies lined up, while others are waiting for a new project

The Twilight stars look particularly yearbook-y in this photo from Comic-Con.

Even the most amateur of movie biz followers knows that stars of mega-franchise movies face a huge hurdle when it comes to finding work later But then again, for every Elijah Wood or Mark Hamill, there’s an Emma Watson or Harrison Ford. Which category will the Twilight cast fall into? We’re taking a close look at all the movies our favorite vampires and werewolves have lined up here, and while we were a bit surprised to see who’s dance card is all filled up and whose IMDb page is looking a little blank at the moment, we’re also choosing to see those empty calendars as great opportunities. Especially now that casting directors must be noting all the cash that Breaking Dawn – Part 2 brought in over the weekend. In the meantime, here’s what we’re looking forward to from the cast next:

Robert Pattinson: Rob seems hellbent on defying any and every box you might want to place him in, post Twilight, so his range of projects is vast. In pre-production, he’s got Mission: Blacklist, in which he’ll play a military interrogator who helped find Saddam Hussein; Hold On to Me, in which he’ll play the love interest of Carey Mulligan, who’s plotting to kidnap the town’s richest guy; The Rover, about car thieves in the Australian Outback; and Queen of the Desert, about early-20th-century archaelogist Gertrude Bell (played by Naomi Watts). Then it looks like he’ll be re-teaming with Cosmopolis helmer David Cronenberg for something called Maps to the Stars. We’re breathless after just summarizing all that.

Kristen Stewart: By contrast, KStew found herself telling E!, “I’m kinda desperate to get a job right now,” on the BD2 black carpet last week. After the release of On the Road in December, she’s got nothing official on her plate. But there are three possible flicks for her: Snow White and the Huntsman 2, which she might star in after all, despite rumors the movie was going in a different direction. Also, there’s Focus, the heist movie starring Ben Affleck. She’s also said to be in the running for Lie Down in Darkness, based on a novel by William Styron about a seriously screwed up family living in 1950s Virginia. On the other hand, Kristen had a very busy 2011, so we can also picture her taking a bit of a break — maybe perfecting her sax skills — and then making something huge a little later down the line.

Taylor Lautner: We think the disappointing box office take of Abduction may have caused Taylor (or his people) to opt for a breather before grabbing all the offers coming his way. We think his decision to make the comedy Grown Ups 2 his next movie is brilliant, though. We’ve seen in the Twilight movies and a number of little videos along the way that he’s got comedic chops to go with those abs. But then he’ll use those abs again in Tracer, which is, no joke, a parkour movie.

15 Best-Dressed At Breaking Dawn – Part 2: Robert, Kristen, Kellan Lutz, Bella Thorne And Co.

15 Best-Dressed At Twilight, Breaking Dawn Part 2 Premiere
We already know that Kristen Stewart is a stone cold fox in Zuhair Murad at the Breaking Dawn – Part 2 premiere in L.A. tonight. But there’s a lot more best-dressed action going on, on the black carpet as well. Kristen’s boyfriend, Robert Pattinson, for instance, is pulling off a bottle green Gucci suit. We kid you not. Also wearing the shade is a dark haired Dakota Fanning in an emerald Elie Saab, that’s lovely on her. Bella Thorne is in the same color too, wearing a mullet dress with a ruffled hem, paired with a black belt and pumps. Saoirse Ronan is ethereal in a white Simone Rocha dress and brogues, and the frock has this interesting broderie anglaise-esque hem on it. Christian Serratos is red-hot in a fire engine Zac Posen gown, YSL shoes, Judith Leiber clutch and Kisshy jewelry and is totally channeling an old Hollywood screen siren. Kiernan Shipka is chic in a navy frock with raspberry pumps and we want the whole damn thing. As we always do because she has the best stylist in the whole world who we want to be friends with. But  … who really stole the show is Amadou Ly — Henri from the French coven — who came attired in full tribal gear. A nod to his Senegalese heritage? Either way, we love it! Check out all our picks in the gallery below and tell us if you agree!

A Twilight Remake? Kellan Lutz Leaves His Schedule Open

As we brace ourselves to see good ole Emmett Cullen grace our screens for the last time in the foreseeable future, arm-wrestling with Bella in Breaking Dawn – Part 2, Kellan Lutz isn’t quite ready to say goodbye to the franchise. This is, of course, after a bit of encouragement from our own Kate Spencer. She asked the beefy blond what she’d asked Robert Pattinson earlier — whether he thought about his kids seeing the Twilight franchise one day — and his answer was both delightful and mind blowing.

“I’m excited to have my grandkids laugh at my funny one-liners. It’ll make me crack up,” he said. “It would be really special to hopefully have some boys dress as Emmett for Halloween.”

Apparently not one to hold classics too sacred, Kellan also suggested a different future for himself and the Twilight fandom: “I just wonder if they’ll ever remake it,” he said. “They remade Star Wars. They could remake this, and maybe I’ll play Dr. Carlisle. Why not? It’s been such a big part of my life, I’d love to. I’d definitely come back.”

Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Premieres: We Look Back Wistfully At All The Twilight L.A. Red Carpets

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and the rest of the Twilight cast at all their L.A. premieres

Taylor Lautner at the Twilight premiere, Kristen Stewart at New Moon and Robert Pattinson at Breaking Dawn – Part 1.

Cue the “Memories”/”Through the Years”/sappy song of choice. We are tearing up at the thought that tonight is the very last Twilight red carpet of all time, unless, of course, they decide to do that much-debated spin-off movie or, god forbid, remake these for some future generation. We’ll be waxing nostalgic all week, even as we look forward to the movie’s release on Thursday night, and we thought we’d begin with a simple look back at what our favorite stars wore to the big Los Angeles premieres, beginning with the first Twilight in 2008. Stay tuned for plenty more from tonight’s festivities!

Kellan Lutz Thinks He’ll Win An Oscar One Day, We Mull Over What Categories He Could Win In

Kellan Lutz Talks About Winning An Oscar One Day

Oh, Kellan Lutz. You’re so shiny and pretty that we can’t stop looking at you. Not that we’re objectifying you, at all. Would we do that — *batting eyelashes*? We also love the fact that his piece in DuJour magazine starts with this exact line, “Kellan Lutz has just returned from a getaway to Saint-Tropez in the south of France. It was a trip with all the trappings of a stereotypical celebrity vacation: yachts, sunbathing and a beautiful female companion (his girlfriend, Australian actress Sharni Vinson).” Say it with us: swag. He’s says he’s more interested in visiting his grandparent’s farm where he will ride a tractor and hang out with pigs and such, and with much love to his Gramps, but, no. But there’s this other part of the interview that had us all perked up. It’s where he says, “I want to act for the rest of my life. I’ll win an Oscar one day, but I’m in no rush to get there. I don’t care if that takes me 50 years, and I’m old. I just love what I do.” Oh bless his heart. He thinks he’s going to win an Academy Awards one day. We hope he does, honest. But lets face it, right now, it’s a tad unlikely. But you never know what kind of career trajectory he’s going to chart — post Tarzan, of course — and he may just get there. Right? But his confession got us thinking — what categories could Kellan win the Oscar in?

1. The Academy Award for “An Eternity Of Putting Up With Rosalie.” Twlight fans — you know this. She may be gorgeous, but she can be … annoying.

2. The Academy Award for “Always Having The Most Amount Of Abs On Any Human Being, Anywhere In The World.” Because, let’s face it, his abs are ridiculous. And plentiful.

3. The Academy Award for “Making The Worst Vampire Makeup Look Really, Really Good.” Can we please think back to the first Twilight movies, especially? Hair and makeup — not great. But Kellan made the best out of a really bad stylist.

Vogue‘s Fashion Night Out Draws In Celebrities On Both Coasts

Celebrities At Vogue's Fashion Night Out, New York, L.A

Everyone looks forward to the grand retail extravaganza that is Vogue‘s Fashion Night Out. Held in approximately 19 countries across a week, the U.S — due to Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour‘s dictact — has their big night on the first day of Fashion Week. It’s a smart move because everyone’s in New York then, and those celebrities who don’t need to be there on day one, can enjoy FNO in L.A, the other fashion capital of the country. That’s both coasts taken care of! Hundreds of stores and designers providing special gifts with purchase and exclusive FNO merchandise, discounts and deals. NYC was swarming with stars yesterday for FNO special apperances. AnnaSophia Robb was Fekkai Mademoiselle, Nikki Reed and Kate Upton were at Michael Kors. Nikki looks super hot in a golden sequined dress, FYI. She was the best-dressed of the night! Kellan Lutz, Pharrell Williams and Matchbox 20 were at Bloomingdales. Allison Williams was at the DVF store, while Alexa Chung was at Moschino. Victoria Beckham and Kim Kardashian made the rounds too, of course. Kim’s little sisters, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, and her mother Kris Jenner were at the Beverly Center in L.A. along with Lucy Hale and Kendra Wilkinson, as well. Want to take a look at how glam everyone was? Head on over to our gallery!

Ashton Kutcher, Ginnifer Goodwin, Coco And The 20 Best Celebrity Hats Of The 2012 Kentucky Derby

I’ll Have Another was wearing the roses after Saturday’s Kentucky Derby, but we all know he wasn’t the only star of the event, which has become as much about watching the attendees as it is about the horses. As in years past, celebs put on their derby best to enjoy a day of mint juleps and betting. Although there was little sun in the sky, the folks in Churchill Downs were still seen wearing everything from traditional Kentucky Derby hats to some more elaborate and daring headwear. Coco, Ginnifer Goodwin, Cyndi Lauper, Star Jones, Mary J. Blige and Miranda Lambert were among the ladies showing off straw, feathers, flowers and bows on their heads. Even a few male celebs, like Ashton Kutcher, Kellan Lutz and Joey Fatone, joined in on all the hat fun. Here’s a look at the 20 best celebrity hats at this year’s Kentucky Derby.

Kellan Lutz Is Your New Tarzan, What We Wouldn’t Give To Be His Jane

Kellan Lutz To Star As Tarzan

Kellan Lutz is all set to give new meaning to the phrase, “Me Tarzan, you Jane.” The hunky Twilight actor is going to be part of a new franchise very soon, as he’s signed up for the role of everyone’s favorite jungle-man, Tarzan, the Constantin film that will be directed by Reinhard Kloos. Deadline reports that the film will be a fully animated CGI with motion capture and that Spencer Locke is in talks to play Jane. The Hollywood Reporter also explained that the film is going to be in 3-D, and that Spencer has actually locked (sorry) down on the role.

They’ve also given us a heads-up on the script. Tarzan’s billionaire parents are killed in a plane crash leaving him alone in the jungle. The head of a company called Greystoke Energies is the villain, as he took over the company after Tarzan’s parents died. Jane comes in as the daughter of an African guide and is a preservationist who works with Tarzan later to take down the villain and his army. Sounds interesting. Mostly because we all know what Kellan’s wardrobe is going to be!

Kim Kardashian, Olivia Munn Bring The Heat For Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Style Party

The Us Weekly Hot Hollywood Style Issue party went down last night in L.A. at the Greystone Manor, and guests took the “hot” part of the invitation quite seriously. Kim Kardashian led the way working it in a sparkling silver strapless dress with neon pink pumps. Carmen Electra looked quite spectacular wearing a beige dress with gold vertical detailing, gathered at the waist. Olivia Munn picked a tight LBD with black booties, with an multi-strand orange necklace for color relief. Yep. Legs galore, right? Other stems that looked equally great were Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett‘s, showcased in a tight blue plunging mini. Jennifer Morrison went that route too, in a flounced frock, and she also debuted a new auburn ‘do. The likes of Shannen Doherty, Monica and Busy Philipps were also spotted wearing little dresses. Aubrey O’Day wore a maxi, but brought out the cleavage. Balancing out all the yin, was some pretty hot yang — Kellan Lutz. ‘Nuff said. Check out the gallery to see for yourself.
