Guys, today is the day Magic Mike comes out and changes our lives forever. Okay probably not, but we do get to see Channing Tatum strip on the big screen, and that still feels pretty important. Despite the way everyone woman (and, let’s be honest, man) is foaming at the mouth to see Alex Pettyfer and the gang take if off this weekend, it turns out Magic Mike is only the most recent in a long line of awkward, dramatic, sexy, humiliating moments in male movie nudity. From Jason Segel‘s weepy reveal in Forgetting Sarah Marshall to basically every movie Ewan McGregor has ever done, enjoy what we consider to be the top 10 moments in cinematic dude nakedness. Though…aren’t they all pretty excellent? Warning: There will be butts.
Given that our first instinct is to slather them with SPF 75 and follow them around with a golf umbrella, it’s probably better that we’re just catching a glimpse of all these celebrity beach vacations, rather than actually being on those trips ourselves. Off the coast of Maui, Ben Stiller opted for paddle boarding this week, while Brooke Burns swam and Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon canoed off the same island. Meanwhile, Marc Jacobs and ex-boyfriend Lorenze Martone lounged on St. Barts, Cuba Gooding Jr. laughed with friends poolside, Tom Felton partied in Miami and Rihanna tweeted her fans from Barbados. Seeing how happy they all are, we guess we can temporarily ignore the potential for celebrity sunburn. Plus, think about how much vitamin D they’re getting right now! So, so much!
Crank that rock ‘n’ roll because Footloose is back for more! We all remember Kevin Bacon’s breakout role as the dude who just wants to dance in a town full of people with two left feet, right? Well now, twenty-seven years after the original, it’s almost time to cut loose once again with a hot new remake featuring Kenny Wormald and Julianne Hough. It’s fresh, it’s fun and it hits theaters this Friday! How does the new version compare to the classic we know and love? Will rock still prevail? Will kids be dancing in the streets? And will we be dancing in the theater aisles? We hope so. Check out the gallery below to see who’s reviving your Footloose favorites. Plus you can peep the trailer under the jump and to get even more pumped for Friday!
That’s twice in one week for Emma Stone and the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York. She was just there for the premiere for Friends With Benefits (photos) looking fab in a contrasting Giambattista Valli dress, and she’s knocked it out of the ball park again at the Crazy, Stupid Love event. We love that Tom Ford dress on her and it toally helps that she’s wearing Christian Louboutin pumps and that Ferragamo clutch. She strutted alongside Ryan Gosling who looked spry in a suit that made us even bigger fans of the Baby Goose.
The movie has a pretty stellar cast with Marisa Tomei, Julianne Moore, Steve Carell and Kevin Bacon acting alongside Gosling and Stone. And also Analeigh Tipton who’s turned out to be the luckiest America’s Next Top Model ex-contestant of them all! Also spotted — a super skinny Jonah Hill and the Baldwin brother who isn’t Alec or William! Where was the Bacon during the premiere, though? Oh well, our gallery’s pretty cool regardless of him being in it or not.
When the weather gets hot, sometimes all you want to do is hide a Cherry Coke in your purse (or man-bag; I don’t discriminate), sit down in an air-conditioned movie theater, and watch a big, flashy, over-the-top action movie. Alternately genius and goofy, carefully crafted and dripping with molten cheese, X-Men: First Class gets an A- for honoring the big budget summer movie tradition, and is worth seeing even if you don’t know Azazel from Angel Salvatore (don’t worry; I had no idea who they were either).
This is one of the movie’s we can’t wait to watch this summer! The X-Men: First Class premiere took place at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City yesterday and most of the star cast turned up for it. January Jones decided to play where’s-the-baby-bump, because we could see nary a sign of it in her Preen dress and Prada shoes. Zoe Kravitz and Michael Fassbender—co-stars and a couple—looked liked the perfect pair. She was slinky in an Alexander Wang dress and Chanelshoes, and he was gorgeous in a three-piece grey suit and aviators.
James McAvoy (who we just love), Kevin Bacon and Lucas Till rounded up the men and we’re thinking… this movie is going to be such a babe fest! Rose Byrne looked better than we’ve ever seen her in a Marc Jacobs Fall 2011 navy lace dress with Bryan Atwood pumps. We’re a little disappointed that Jennifer Lawrence didn’t show up, but that’s just us fangirling.
Even before we animated the eyebrows, there was just something off about this photo of Zach Braff and Emmy Rossum chilling at the Darker Side Of Climate Change Debate event in NYC. Not that we could blame Braff for making a move on the Phantom Of The Opera star if the opportunity arose—anyone who’d date Counting Crow Adam Duritz in the last year is obviously fair game for a sensitive Scrub like him. Among the stars with better things to do than “ooh” at completely innocent celebrity candids were Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rev Run, Kevin Bacon and Sarah Silverman, who moderated a debate on the very serious matter (climate change, not whether Zach Braff was looking for action). See photos from the event in the gallery below.

One of the creepiest things about the Friday The 13th movie franchise is just how few of the actors went on to be famous. Kevin Bacon got an arrow to the throat in the first movie (shown in the clip above—if you can handle it!), but ten sequels that followed (not counting the remake opening tonight) are filled with so many eternal unknowns that we almost have to wonder if there’s more to it than just the level of talent hired for these movies. Maybe there’s a curse! Watch out, Jared Paladecki and Danielle Panabaker. You may have damned yourself to a life of straight-to-DVD slashers.
Besides Bacon, we did find a few celeb appearances in the film series. Check out some of Jason’s tragically few encounters with the stars after jump. Warning: it gets more than a little bloody.
