The grand jury decisions not to indict officer Darren Wilson, the man responsible the wrongful killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO last August, and not to charge NYPD officer Daniel Pantaleo for his fatal (and illegal) chokehold of Eric Garner last July have left the nation flabbergasted. Coast to coast, protesters are gathering in droves seeking justice. And among those protesters are some well-known celebrities.
Which TV icons have been cast to play a lesbian couple in the season finale of Glee? Who were the most overpaid actors in Hollywood last year? All this, plus a sneak peek from Fast & Furious 6 in today’s First Dibs.
Through the years, we’ve followed the highs and (very) lows of Kobe and Vanessa Bryant’s relationship. But despite how we may view this twosome, the only opinions that matter are their own, right? In a recent interview with The Cut, Vanessa, who’s always been icily quiet, reveals that she’s living the life you’ve only dreamed of with her gold medal-winning husband. Well, Mrs. Bryant, we highly doubt your life is all you’re proclaiming it to be, but in fairness, we’re game for combing through the history of your relationship to put this debate to rest. (You’re welcome.)
Kobe drops $4 million on a beautiful ring for his beloved wife.
The NBA star purchased the bauble after being accused of sexually assaulting a hotel staffer in Colorado.
Vanessa recently traveled to the London for the Summer Olympics, where she planned to wear “the flats with my red blazer, white T-shirt, and skinnies to support Team U.S.A..”
Kobe was seen getting cozy with Australian swimmer Stephanie Rice during a women’s cycling event at the Games, fueling rumors the two were an item.
Winner: Low. Hearing about your husband and another woman while you and your children are in town to cheer him on is the lowest of the low.
Australian swimmer Stephanie Rice might not be going home with a medal, but she may have snagged herself an NBA star at the London Olympics! The three-time gold medalist was seen catching the Woman’s Cycling yesterday with L.A. Laker and Team USA basketball player Kobe Bryant. Witnesses say that the two were laughing and cozying up to one another in the stands, and tabloids are screaming that these two are now an item. We’re know there’s a breast stroke joke in there, but we’ve decided that we’re better than that.
The athletes were introduced several weeks ago, and Stephanie tweeted a picture of the meeting with the caption “First piccy with a “star” going to be hard to beat… Kobe.” They even went so far as to present each other with gifts. Stephanie gave him two of her swim caps, and Kobe apparently gave her a pair of sneakers that he hilariously signed “To Stephanie. Be epic.” 5th and 4th place respectively in the Woman’s 200M Semifinals and Finals might not qualify as “epic,” but it’s still good enough for Kobe because they’re still hanging out.
Who knows the reality of their relationship, as his ex-wife Vanessa is also in town with their children. Considering the two still occasionally kiss, this might not be the best time for some Olympian-on-Olympian action. But then again, what do we know? Stephanie, for her part, was linked to a guy called Michael Phelps (heard of him?) when they were both competing at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. We guess she has a thing for champs? Or maybe it’s just realllllllly tall dudes.
The 2012 Summer Olympic athletes aren’t the only ones who are going to need to hit the showers after competition, we’re going to need a cool down too! Olympians are bringing the heat to this summer’s games in London with scorching hot bods and impeccable bone structure to boot. And let us just say, we are damn proud to be Americans. So many of our top sexiest athletes hail from these United States. We clearly have an obsession with Ryan Lochte and don’t worry, he’s in there, but Michael Phelps, Andy Roddick, Hope Solo, Lolo Jones also make an appearance along with plenty of their fellow Team USA competitors that we can’t get enough of. And of course, what would the Olympic games be without sportsmanship? We also mixed in plenty of foreign flavor from Spain, Brazil, Norway and Switzerland amongst so many others. It’s taking everything we’ve got not to book our flights to London while simultaneously writing this post. All hail the hotties sprinting, jumping, dunking, swimming, kicking, rowing, serving, and working their spectacular butts off. Viewers, you are going to need a towel and a glass of water for this one…

Ten and a half years of marriage for celebrities is a huge accomplishment. Let’s face it, staying together in Hollywood is not the easiest thing to do. Despite Vanessa Bryant owning the deeds to three mansions and being entitled to half of Kobe Bryant’s money, it looks like the two are working toward a reconciliation, according to TMZ. The site reports that Vanessa will not sign the paperwork that would make her divorce from the Lakerstar final. Vanessa may have had a change of heart about the man she’s been with since she was 17-years-old, but the two have yet to move back in together.
California law mandates a six month waiting period from the date of filing before the divorce is officially final. This weekend marks the six month period for the couple. When Vanessa filed for divorce in December the ‘net went bananas about the non-existent prenup. It even prompted Drake to rap in “Stay Schemin,” “Kobe ’bout to lose a hundred fifty M’s/Kobe my n***a I hate it had to be him/B**** you wasn’t with me shooting in the gym.” Well, Drake may get his wish if the two decide to save the marriage. Only time will tell if these two are headed back to marital bliss, but in the meantime take a look at the timeline of their relationship.
November 1999: Kobe and Vanessa met while Vanessa was working as a backup dancer on the set of Tha Eastsidaz “G’d Up” video and he was shooting his own video that was never released. Although Vanessa was a 17-year-old high school student, Bryant courted her anyway — for a whole six months before tying the knot.
May 2000: In the longest courtship ever (we kid, we kid) the couple announced their engagement while Vanessa was still a senior at Marina High School in Huntington Beach. High school graduation and an engagement to a millionaire ball player in the same year must be sweet!
Kobe Bryant must now hand over his nickname “Black Mamba” and submit to Zorro henceforth. There is no other explanation for his ownership of the super stylin’ mask he put on at the Lakers-Pistons game on Tuesday night. We’ve seen the clear guard — pictorially depicted on the right — a zillion times, but whutup with the sleek black version he had on for the first quarter? Because we’ve never seen one at a game … ever. No one’s ever switched it up like our man here. Maybe he was trying to be this guy?
Apparently, the black mask is more comfortable because it doesn’t fog up like the clear one. That’s on point — just look at how messy it gets. And he needed a mask in the first place to protect his broken nose. That’s the official explanation. We also think it’s because he had three new faceguards made in Detroit, by the maker of Richard Hamilton’s masks, and just wanted to show them off. He’s a man of the world and he’s gotta know that Fashion Week season is on, right? And because, as mentioned before, who doesn’t love Zorro? Sadly, his superheroic efforts came to a screeching halt in the second quarter and he came back on with the clear version because his newer swag kept slipping. Style comes at a price. But we need to know whether his new style won you over or not? Or should he not care and just play the game?

Just weeks after cashing in on a mega divorce settlement (though the divorce won’t be finalized for months), it looks like Vanessa Bryant might be feeling the love for husband Kobe once again. The basketball ex-wife was was spotted cheering on her old flame at a Valentine’s Day Lakers game, and TMZ snapped the two sharing a kiss. Is there a reconciliation in there air, or is she just really grateful for those three mansions she’s getting? $75 million worth of property might make you pretty affectionate!
But still, sparks may be flying between the two once more. Stranger things have happened! In fact, many couples in Hollywood have split up before finding themselves drawn together once again. Sometimes it leads to the altar, and sometimes … not so much (looking at you Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer). Check out the gallery below for our 30 favorite off-again-on-again celebrity couples!

It’s January, the weather’s finally getting cold, and, sadly, some hearts are even colder. There are days when it’s too depressing to deliver celebrity breakup and divorce news, so we’re ripping off the Band-aid and giving it to you all in one shot.
» First, you might consider this happy news, if you’re Team Vanessa. Kobe Bryant’s soon-to-be-ex is getting $75 million in the divorce settlement, half of the NBA star’s estimated assets, according to TMZ. That includes all three of their houses in the Newport Beach area.
» Kenny G’s wife of 20 years, Lyndie Benson-Gorelick, filed for separation from the smooth-jazz sax-player, E! Online reports. The couple has two sons, Max, 18, and Noah, 14.
» And contrary to rumors of their split, Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner tweeted their love for each other: “It really upsets me to read all the FALSE!! stories. Avril has always been there for me and is the closest person to my heart. I love her,” Brody wrote on Tuesday, to which Avril replied, “luv u 2.” Still, those could also be interpreted as “just friends” declarations too.
Now, let’s get on with a happier Friday!

Parenthood is such a precious gift; it lets you pass on all those important life lessons to your children. Lessons like, how not to act when your stepdaughter is going through a messy public divorce. According to TMZ, Vanessa Bryant‘s ex-stepdad is now talking ish about her to the press, claiming she’s a gold digger…just like her mom. “Her mother taught her well to wait for the ten-year mark [before divorcing],” Stephen Laine said. “In California … it’s considered a long term marriage and then she gets paid for life or until she remarries … just like her mother is doing to me.” Hmmm, did Vanessa’s mom also teach her daughter how to leave an alleged serial cheater? If so, we’d say she’s basically earned an honorary Masters in Education.
Laine was married to Vanessa’s mother from 1990 to 2003 and helped raise Kobe Bryant‘s wife into adulthood, though of course 13 years of loving fatherhood is no guarantee he will not continue to act the fool in the media. “I have to pay her mom $1,800 every month and clearly they don’t need it,” Laine gripes. All we have to say is: we’re only five days into Kobe Bryant’s divorce and ex-stepparents are already getting involved? Mama said there’d be days like this. She didn’t mention they would be caused by infidelity and nutball ex-relatives, but we guess it was implied.
