Poor Lacey Schwimmer made a pretty unwelcome discovery as she walked into her Las Vegas dressing room yesterday. The dancer’s in the city as a part of Dancing With the Stars: Live in Las Vegas, FYI. And as she opened the door to her private — hear that security, private — space, she found a naked dude getting ready to go to the shower. Who this guy is, and more importantly, how he get in, is anyone’s guess. And this is just over two weeks after Tia Carrere found a thief in her dressing room, who made off with her purse! How are these people even getting backstage?
Lacey rushed out and it has been confirmed that she has filed a police report. We’re more interested to know where naked dude went? Did he rush out when he was discovered? Wouldn’t that have caused quite the stir? We know it’s Vegas, but a streaker backstage is still grounds for getting into trouble. Just so you know, Lacey went on and did her job regardless right after. Her spokesperson revealed, “Lacey will go on with the show tonight. She is shook up but the show must go on. She entered her dressing room to find the naked man entering her shower.” The dancer even tweeted about it later, “Historically laughing at how bad today has been hahah!” Time to start putting the dressing room under lock and key, DWTS dancers.
Where there is a best-dressed, there has to be a worst-dressed. It’s the yin and yang of a red carpet. You’re already aware of the Miley Cyrus tuxedo disaster at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards? She had good bad company at the event, as well. Here’s the thing about Katy Perry‘s flowing lavender Blumarine gown. It would have been great if it had taken it down a notch in the shine department. It looks almost synthetic, and that deep plum lipstick feels wrong with it. Julianne Hough‘s gold sequin Kaufman Franco dress suffered from the same problem. It also looked like an embellished towel wrapped around her body, though we feel a little more makeup may have suited this look.
Sticking to the shimmer department was Julie Bowen‘s Doo.Ri strapless dress. It looked ill-fitting, and that one shining panel down the front didn’t do wonders for her, especially with her clunky heels. We actually liked Zooey Deschanel‘s sparkly Moschino number, even though it was badly fitted, but she ruined the lightness of the outfit by adding those black tights. Lacey Scwhimmer‘s shimmery panelled dress just went straight to tacky — and what was up with those candy-colored hair extensions? Normally, embellished gowns do well at awards shows. Not so much the case at this event, as you can see.
Another misstep came from Nelly Furtado. The label of the dress was all right — Alberta Ferretti. But the white crochet translated pretty badly on her body, making her look boxy, when we know that Nelly isn’t. Sticking to the same color scheme was Amber Rose who really needs to be told that there is no harm in going up a size. Too tight, Amber! Way too tight! She looked like she was about to spill out any moment. But, as always, the final verdict lies with you. What do you think of the ensembles? Take a look at the gallery below and give us your opinions.
With all the controversy surrounding transgender contestant, Chaz Bono, the proverbial show went on. Dancing With The Stars‘ 13th season premiered last night and debuted with a cha-cha! Shaking and shimmying to Dancing in The Street, the dancing was a bit rough, but top marks for fun and enthusiasm, right? Chaz has put aside all the hating coming in from all sides about him being transgender, which could not have been easy. A lot of people have wanted him ousted from the show.
The judges were somewhat encouraging, with Carrie Ann Inaba exclaiming, “You can dance!” and Len Goodman pointing out his “good footwork and great attitude.” Still, scores were on the low side with the pair getting two 6’s and one 5. Do you agree?
We’d lost track of how many Pirates of the Caribbean films have been churned out so far, but obviously the rest of the world hasn’t. And thanks to the massive premiere Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides had yesterday at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, we now know that the franchise is up to its fourth installment now. But this wasn’t any other screening. Apart from a slinky black carpet instead of the usual red, this was the world’s first outdoor 3-D premiere! An open-air theater was specially constructed and tickets to attend ran at $1,000 a pop. Which was a very nice touch because all proceeds from the premiere were donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
The cast turned up in full force with Penelope Cruz, Johnny Depp, Keith Richards (and his wife, Patti Hansen), Geoffrey Rush, the intriguingly named Astrid Berges-Frisbey and our new golden boy Sam Claflin. Apart from them, Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens were spotted being all BFF, Jodie Foster turned up in sunglasses (at night), Steven Tyler hung out with Mickey Mouse andLorenzo Lamas brought his fifth wife Shawna Craig. The Dancing With The Stars crew showed up too, with Bruno Tonioli, Lacey Schwimmer, Chelsie Hightower, Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy walking the plank carpet. And American Idol blasts from the pasts too — we know you remember David Cook, but how about Blake Lewis?! Lots more to look at in our gallery below.
Just the name of this party itself would give us stress! Imagine the pressure to look, well, hot, at the Us Magazine Hot Hollywood Style Issue bash. Some stars caved, like Lauren Conrad, who needs to fire her entire entourage — hairdresser, stylist and make-up artist — stat. Her bun looks heavier than her whole body, she’s got this weird geisha white powder thing going on with her face and her sloppy blouson-teeny skirt ensemble just isn’t working. Jessica Szhor also seems to have been inspired by her namesake Jessica Lowndes bra-baring ensembles. The lace doesn’t make it classy, ladies.
Who did make it work was Camila Alves who was ridiculously sexy in a fire-engine red strapless dress with lips to match. Carmen Electra looked like a blonde Sofia Vergara, and knocked it out of the ball park with a simple metallic shift. Sara Rue, Pia Toscano, Alexa Vega, Paris Hilton (who looked really demure), Brooke Burke and Petra Nemcova all stepped it up in the wardrobe department as well. We’d also like to say that the magazine’s “Style Icon of the Year” Jessica Simpson is getting there one ensemble at a time. Really, really getting there. Good for you, Jess! For the rest of the H’wood hotties who attended the bash (*ahem*, we didn’t exclude the guys), check out our gallery below. [Photos: Splash News Online]
