The biggest party of the Broadway season went down on Sunday night at Radio City Music Hall. In addition to Hugh Jackman hopping and T.I. rapping lyrics from The Music Man — oh yes, that happened — attendees brought out dramatic colors and ever louder headgear for the annual celebration of theater.

Anne Hathaway, Sienna Miller, Lucy Liu: Unconventional Choices Make Our 10 Fave Golden Globes Looks

Sienna Miller, Lucy Liu, Anne Hathaway among the 10 best dressed at the Golden Globes

You need no other reminder that the Golden Globe Awards are not just the Oscars and Emmys light than what the fashion-forward stars were wearing to on the red carpet. Sure, there were plenty of pretty ball gowns and shimmery sheaths, but some of our favorites knew that this was the event where they could take risks and go big with crazy prints and unconventional cuts. Sienna Miller, for instance, took a dress that could have come out of your crazy aunt’s mod closet from the ’60s, but the Erdem separates’ fit and her minimal makeup made it work. Anne Hathaway also went for separates, in glittery white Chanel, that showed of her body to perfection while also giving her a relaxed air. We’re kind of amazed that Lucy Liu’s Carolina Herrera did not remind us too much of wallpaper.

There were some more conventional wins tonight too — Claire Danes in a figure flattering red Versace, Julianne Moore in elegant black and white blocking by Tom Ford. And some on-trend looks we loved: Kerry Washington’s sheer with silver details. And overall, we think it was a successful night for most of the stars — whether they opted to take risks or not. Look through our 10 faves and tell us if you agree!

A Totally Objective Guide To The Best Shipped Relationships Of 2012

After watching Spider-Man: The Animated Series in 1997, we decided Venom and Mary Jane Watson were actually a better couple than Mary Jane and Spider-Man, and we haven’t looked back since. In case you’re new to the Internet, pretty much every TV show, movie or otherwise fictional couple has a huge fan base swooning over their relationship. It might be a well-established couple or the characters might have met once to sign for a UPS package, it doesn’t matter. Someone is obsessed with them declaring their eternal love. This is a phenomenon known as shipping, and it is 75% of the reason anyone even knows about Twilight.

Maybe we just spent too much time on Tumblr over the last twelve months (we really, really did!), but 2012 seemed like a year where shipping was front and center. From New Girl to Sherlock, everywhere we looked shippers were building onto the fictional universes they loved, mostly with smooching. So we decided to pay homage to the most passionately shipped relationships of this year as part of our Best of 2012. Don’t see your favorite couple? We probably just didn’t know about them yet, so inform us in the comments! 2013 is almost upon us and we want to feel that Venom/Mary Jane feeling again!

Nicole Kidman, Lucy Liu, Ashley Judd: What Were The Movie Stars Wearing At The Emmys?

Movie Stars At The Emmys

We’ve seen what lots of crossover stars wore on the Emmys red carpet. By that we mean actresses who we’ve seen in films but have lead roles in major television dramas now. Like Ginnifer Goodwin (love the orange gown), Zooey Deschanel and Claire Danes (yellow gown fail, sadly.) We even saw the grand Jessica Lange winning ‘Best Supporting Actress In A Miniseries’ for American Horror Story and Julianne Moore (another yellow misstep, but love her anyway) who won ‘Best Actress In A Miniseries’ for Game Change. But there were other bonafide movie stars attending the event — ladies who we associate with the film world even if they dabble on the TV world. Nicole Kidman led the way looking statuesque in a white Antonio Berardi column with aqua sequined overlay. It’s unusual, and we still have to mull over whether we like it or not. Kate Mara requires no mulling over because she looked fabulous in a soft, vintage-looking Badgley Mischka dress with Christian Louboutin shoes. Ashley Judd, sadly, took us to the other end of the like spectrum: dislike. Her plum custom Carolina Herrera did her no favors and she looked fussy and matronly, especially with that bouffant up-do. Lucy Liu brought the glam right back in a metallic mesh Versace column. Trust her to set it straight again. We end on a low note though — saving the not-so-best for last. Amanda Peet, why would you wear this? The lovely actress looked washed out and insipid in an ill-fitting pale pink Calvin Klein gown. Want a closer look? Head on to our gallery.

Lucy Liu, Emmy Rossum, Julianne Moore, Sarah Hyland Among 2012 Critics’ Choice Television Awards 10 Best-Dressed

10 Best-Dressed At 2012 Critics Choice Television Awards

What a pretty, diverse red carpet this was yesterday. The 2012 Critics’ Choice Television Awards happened at the Beverly Hills Hotel, in L.A. and a lot of different styles and silhouettes were represented through all the fashion present. There was the dramatic, flowing gown courtesy Emmy Rossum‘s metallic Donna Karan number and Neil Lane jewelry. We had the sexy, plunging gown with Busy Phillips‘ Michael Kors black dress. Loved the use of turquoise accents through her Irene Neuwirth necklace and ring, as well. We had romantic, vintage looks with Zooey Deschanel‘s blood orange, full-skirted Oscar de la Renta dress and Alison Brie‘s ’40′s inspired frock, also by de la Renta.

Other best-dressed picks included Sarah Hyland‘s flirty, youthful frock by Collette Dinnigan, and her Modern Family co-star Ariel Winter, who looked just lovely in a white, tiered dress, also by the same designer. Coincidence, much?  Lucy Liu‘s girly pale pink gown by Atelier Versace made quite an impression too. But, the sexiest look of the night, by far, goes to Julianne Moore who worked it in a black-and-white bodycon dress by Jason Wu. Her nude Walter Steiger strappy heels worked beautifully with her outfit as well. Special mention also goes to the very toned Regina King, who also wore blood orange like Zooey, but in a shorter, lacy Romona Keveza version. If your interest is piqued, then get thee to the gallery!

CBS Upfront Presentation Brings Out A Parade Of Ladies: Cobie Smulders, Kat Dennings Smolder

2012 CBS Upfronts Presentation

Considering that Fox and NBC networks just had their upfront presentations earlier this week, we had a feeling that CBS wouldn’t be far behind. We were right. The CBS Upfronts Presentation went down in New York yesterday and it seemed that the ladies ruled the roost. Cobie Smulders led the way in a white Rebecca Minkoff “Mistral” dress with cutouts and cheeky red pumps. Apparently, her earrings were designed by Krysten Ritter for JewelMint to benefit Autism Speaks. How I Met Your Mother, FTW! We bet she’s in the best shape of her life after having to fit into that unforgiving catsuit she wore through The Avengers. It was also great to see Lucy Liu, looking impossibly tiny, but fit, in a burgundy Marios Schwab slip.

Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs — the 2 Broke Girls — looked great posing together. We just can’t understand why Kat won’t smile more? She was a knockout in a black dress and nude pumps but wouldn’t stop pouting for some strange reason. Seriously, every photograph we saw didn’t have a hint of a grin in it. Luckily, her co-star Beth, made up for her in the sunshine department, while wearing a lovely royal blue sheath. To see who else attended, you’re going to have to click through our gallery, but we promise you … it’ll be worth it.

The Full 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards Red Carpet Report

The 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards took place last night at Lincoln Center in New York City. The show saw some serious fashionista traffic, but we have to admit we expected it to be a tad more A-List. Still, can’t complain with the likes of Alessandra Ambrosio in a red-hot Prabal Gurung dress and Liv Tyler in an unusual Proenza Schouler silk printed sheath. Both ladies showed a fair amount of back! We also loved Kerry Washington‘s simple white A-Line Calvin Klein dress and Lucy Liu‘s dramatic black Monique Lhuillier gown. Miranda Kerr looked heart-stoppingly sexy in her black Michael Kors skirt and cut-out body suit. But the big winner of the night was Lady Gaga who scooped up the Fashion Icon Award, bringing her sister Natali Germanotta as her date.

Unfortunately, there were a couple of fashion fails as well. Chloe Sevigny looked like she had forgotten to do up the top of her leather ruffle eyelet blouse from her own collection. Marcia Cross wore an inexplicable Pamella Roland blue sequined halter jumpsuit and Naomi Watts looked generically pretty but very blah in her Calvin Klein gold dress. We also love us some Ashley Greene but she just wasn’t working her two-tone Michael Kors dress, like a pregnant Jessica Alba worked the same trend in DVF. Perhaps it’s because Ashley’s clunky shoes were all wrong. One look at Gerard Butler in his snug, extremely well-cut suit, and all was well again. Brangelina Skip Kung Fu Panda 2 NY Premiere, Jack Black Unleashed

There are two types of Jack Black movie premieres: Jack Black movie premieres where he’s the biggest star there, and those where he’s not. Oh sure, he clowns around either way, but when he’s the top dog, that’s when we really get to see the man wild out. So with Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie skipping today’s Kung Fu Panda 2 premiere at the Ziegfeld Theatre in NY, the only person who could compete with Jack for star power was Lucy Liu and uh…yeah, it was Jack’s big moment. Check out the gallery for a taste of the poses and faces JB dropped on his panda people in the Big Apple.
