View Photo Gallery

We’re less than two weeks into the new year and still waiting for most stars to come out of hibernation and put their crazy getups on display — I mean, what are they afraid of, that they’ll appear in this post or something? That must be why they invented the People’s Choice Awards and the Palm Springs International Film Festival, to keep wacko fashions in the public eye at all times.

emmys worst dressed

It’s Emmy night! Which means that television’s best and brightest get to shine like stars. Unfortunately, some of those stars showed up looking like they didn’t know they’d be on television. Except for Zosia Mamet, of course, who gamely decided to add a censor box over her nipples for the network television audiences.

Jared Leto Joins Our List Of The 10 Craziest Celebrity Brows

Jared Leto debuts shaved eyebrows

Jared Leto showed off his newly shaved eyebrows Monday night as he arrived at the 22nd annual Gotham Independent Film Awards in New York City. Thanks, Jared, we weren’t planning on sleeping between now and Christmas, anyhow. The freaky new look is apparently for his role in The Dallas Buyers Club, the same flick that caused Matthew McConaughey to starve himself down to the size of our pinky. Jared himself was recently photographed in some very loud drag for the role. Damn, this movie has gotta be some serious Oscar-bait!

We’ve all heard about actors changing their hairstyles for film roles, but it’s a bit more rare to be told to buzz the brows! But still Leto is by no means the first guy who’s had to do crazy stuff to his eyebrows in the name of Hollywood glory. Head down to the gallery below to see 10 famous faces with some wacked out  brows!

Tom Cruise’s 10 Most Rock Star-ish Moments Before Rock Of Ages

As you can see from the video above, Tom Cruise’s co-stars Malin Akerman, Julianne Hough and Catherine Zeta-Jones really feel like the actor was a real rock star on the set of Rock of Ages — and they meant that in the best way, not the diva-concert rider, trash the hotel room kind of way. And from what we can tell from clips of him as Stacee Jaxx, the guy really poured himself into the part. But none of this should surprise us in the least: After all, the guy has always been a rock star, even when he was at his most clean-cut and Hollywood. Here, we’d like to count down the 10 moments when he most resembled the lead singer of his own guitar-thrashing, ear-melting, groupie-attracting, Billboard-topping band.

The Battle Of The Premieres: Silver Siren Malin Akerman Vs. Golden Goddess Penelope Cruz

Penelope Cruz, Malin Akerman: Rock of Ages, To Rome With Love

What can we say about these two stunning women, apart from it’s on! The two ended up wearing precious metal at different premieres and we were curious to see who you think won the battle of the dresses. First up, we have Malin Akerman who is looking better than she ever has in this silver Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti dress which she wore to the Rock of Ages Stockholm premiere. Malin kept everything else silver too, accessorizing with sexy Jimmy Choo heels, House of Lavande Vintage jewelry and a tiny Judith Leiber clutch. Loving the berry lips and nails with the wavy, blond, open hair.

On the other hand, we have Penelope Cruz who went a hundred percent diva at the To Rome With Love premiere at the 2012 Los Angeles Film Festival. And she went totally gold. We’re loving the Roman inflections of the toga-esque Michael Kors shimmering gold gown. Hello, legs. Add to that a gold belt, gold heels and gold jewelry and we’ve got ourselves one golden goddess. The nude makeup is ace, but we’re not too sure about the slicked back hair, but that’s a minor quibble. But is this the case of the gilded lily? Is it too much, or just right? Same with Malin. Did she go overboard with the silver, or get the right balance? You’re going to have to let us know.

Rock Of Ages Fashion Flashback: Malin Akerman’s Got “Legs”

Whether or not you’re old enough to have lived through the ’80s hair-band era, you have definitely been subjected to nostalgia for the days of man perms, animal-print spandex and awesome rawk music — especially this week, with the release of Rock of Ages. Suddenly, the styles we once ridiculed (and used for more than one Halloween costume) are back in our closets and on our screens. That’s what prompted VH1 to ask a few of the stars of the movie whether they were tempted to steal their retro costumes and wear them in real, 21st century life. Malin Akerman was quick to admit as much.

There’s a dress that I’m wearing that’s like a black dress with tassles that is incredible,” said Akerman, who plays magazine writer Constance Sack. “I think it was actually from All Saints or something like that. And I was so tempted to bring that one home and go, ‘Oops, I lost it!’ ”

The actress hopes the flick will inspire viewers to embrace their metal fan too. “I want them to go home and put on their leather pants again, and put on their rock songs and have a blast!

If, instead of leather pants, you want to take some fashion inspiration from Constance, who goes from buttoned-up magazine girl to full-on rocker chick, here are a few things that comprise her look.

Who Were The Best-Dressed Ladies At The Met Gala?

This is going to be a long list, folks, so get some popcorn ready. There was so much material to choose from, from this year’s Met Gala that we drove ourselves into a tizzy. We weren’t ever fans of, say, peplum (gowns with an overskirt), but Solange Knowles‘ sunshine-yellow Rachel Roy number made us fans. Keeping up the bright trend was Katharine McPhee whose low-cut, unforgiving tangerine Elie Saab column was stunning. Emma Roberts wore a brighter shade of orange, and also incorporated peplum in her gorgeous Escada strapless gown. Moving toward red territory was a surprise entry: Chelsea Clinton. She wowed us in a cherry, lace-overlay strapless gown, and she totally needs to reveal who the designer is.

Other fab outfits were worn by Ashley Greene who picked a dreamy, Grecian Donna Karan gown and Amy Adams, who also wore white Giambattista Valli, with a cheeky gold bow detail at the waist. It was completely old Hollywood glamour. Another one of our red carpet favorites choosing that vibe was Amber Heard, a knockout in a dusty rose Zac Posen fishtail. The Glee gals represented and chose completely different looks. Dianna Agron went for elegant, romantic glamour in an emerald green Carolina Herrera gown. while Lea Michele picked a sexy, slashed navy blue Diane von Furtsenberg dress.

Our picks for best-dressed also include supermodel Jessica Stam wearing a pastel blue, almost gladiator-esque John Galliano for Christian Dior Haute Couture dress number with gold detailing, and Hilary Swank in a burgundy, halter-necked Michael Kors gown. There are a total of 16 looks to choose from in our gallery below, so check them all out, and tell us whose gown you like best.

Vote For The Funniest Ladies In The Summer Movies

It’s been said that comedy isn’t pretty, but we’re about to prove them wrong. There’s a gang of lovely ladies hilariously hitting up the big screen this summer, and they look amazing as they do it! We hope you’ve been following our Summer Movie Preview, where we’ve brought you the best of this summer’s cinematic heroes, heroines and villains. But now it’s time to give you the rundown on the women who will make you laugh ’til you cry, or get thrown out of the theater.

First and foremost, we’re expecting huge comedy from What to Expect When You’re Expecting. The film boasts Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks and Anna Kendrick! Mila Kunis is already a comedy legend at the super young age of 28, and we can’t wait to see her she compete with a teddy bear for Mark Wahlberg’s affections in Ted. The greatly anticipated movie sees her collaborates with her Family Guy co-star Seth MacFarlane. Malin Akerman takes us way back to the ’80s as a reporter in Rock of Ages, while Helena Bonham Carter takes us back even further to the ’70s in her husband Tim Burton’s latest film, Dark Shadows.
