TONY Awards Red Carpet: The Older Ladies Do It Better

What was in the water when these ladies were growing up? ‘Cause we’ll have some! The 2011 TONY Awards took place yesterday at the Beacon Theatre in New York City and we’re in awe of the slew of all the “older” actresses that walked the carpet. We’re not being derogatory about age at all. We genuinely think that the so called young Hollywood lot could learn a thing or two from ladies like Edie Falco (aged 47), Ellen Barkin (57), Brooke Shields (46) and Marg Helgenberger (52) because they looked incredible. Christie Brinkley looked pretty damn fine too, but we didn’t like the strapless blue gown she wore. And God Bless her soul, we love you Whoopi Goldberg, but what the hell were you wearing? She had some bizarre hat and an outfit that looked like it was made from cheap curtains on, which you’ll able to see in our gallery below.

A word about the gentlemen during the evening. Could Neil Patrick Harris (he was the host of the show) and partner David Burtka get any more handsome? Al Pacino could have taken a couple of styling tips considering he wore a weird headband, but his girlfriend, gorgeous Lucila Sola (who is 40 years younger than him) didn’t seem to mind. Samuel L. Jackson, Chris Rock, Matthew Broderick, Don Cheadle all suited up too, so take a look at the pictures and tell us what you think.

Justin Bieber Responds To CSI‘s Marg Helgenberg’s “Brat” Comments

When Marg Helgenberg called Justin Bieber a “brat” we were wondering what route he would take for his rebuttal. The high road? A statement through his rep?  We should have known it would be Twitter!  Marg and Justin worked together when the singer made a guest appearance on CSI and she said he was “… kind of a brat. He was very nice to me. But he locked one of the producers in a closet and he put his fist through a cake that was on the cast’s table.” BAD Bieber! He’s 17 years old, folks. Give him a break.

Even though he didn’t explicitly mention her name, it was pretty evident that Justin was tweeting about Marg’s comments. He responded in a couple of statements, and the first tweet read, “it’s kinda lame when someone you met briefly and never worked with comments on you. I will continue to wish them luck and be kind.” Burn no. 1, Marg! Burn no 2 came in Justin’s next tweet, “Even last week they had me scolded on a plane in the news because i wasnt in my seat fast enough. She was right and i sat down. That’s news?”  Bieber’s third tweet read, “I know who i am and sometimes people r just going 2 say what they want. Keep ur head up and be the man ur mama raised.#killemwithkindness”. After another couple of tweets in the same vein, Justin’s exitweet was, “don’t spread gossip and dont spread rumors about others…im a kid and i know that.”  Point made, Biebs. Looks like Marg really hit a nerve.

Justin Bieber Was A “Brat” On CSI, Says Marg Helgenberger

Is Justin Bieber a prima donna or just a normal teenage boy? CSI‘s Marg Helgenberger let slip in a French radio interview that Bieber pulled some diva bullhooey while shooting a guest appearance on the show. “He was kind of a brat,” she sighed. “He was very nice to me. But he locked one of the producers in a closet and he put his fist through a cake that was on the cast’s table.” Ruining a crew cake? That’s even worse than when Bieber flew a toy helicopter into a manager’s head! No wonder Bieber took a bullet (or eighteen) last time he was on the show.

Possibly regretting her bean-spill, Helgenberger clearly wasn’t expecting to be asked if she thought the Biebs was a decent actor as a follow-up. “Justin Bieber wasn’t bad bad,” she offered. “But he’d never acted before…He’s better than you’d think.” Too little, too late, Marg! We’re sure the Bielebers have already put this heathen on their Enemies list.

Marg Helgenberger Separates From SAG Prez After 19 Years

As if Alan Rosenberg didn’t have enough to deal with right now. The Screen Actors Guild president and his wife, CSI‘s Marg Helgenberger, are separating. “After 19 years of marriage, Marg and Alan have decided to take some time apart,” said a representative of the actress. “They love and respect each other and remain committed to their family.”

The couple, who married in 1989, first met when Rosenberg was a guest star on Ryan’s Hope, a soap starring Helgenberger. According to an Entertainment Tonight interview with the couple in 2005, the pair ran into each other years later in line at a bank. Rosenberg has been a regular on several TV shows, including LA Law, Cybil, Chicago Hope and The Guardian, while Helgenberger starred on China Beach and movies like Species and Erin Brokovich before joining the cast of CSI.

Check out the gallery for shots of the couple dating from this October to their courtship in the late eighties.
