The Coen brothers’ Inside Llewyn Davis and Tom Hanks were two of the most glaring omissions from this year’s list of Academy Award nominees. It was shocking not to hear Inside among the list of Best Picture nominees considering the plethora of praise it’s received, and disappointing to see Hanks boxed out after he delivered not one but two strong performances (in Captain Phillips and Saving Mr. Banks, respectively). Then again, there are plenty of Hollywood legends who don’t have a tiny gold man engraved with their name despite owning box office records or topping critics’ lists. When it comes to doling out the coveted Oscar, the Academy doesn’t always go with the popular opinion.
We’re less than two weeks into the new year and still waiting for most stars to come out of hibernation and put their crazy getups on display — I mean, what are they afraid of, that they’ll appear in this post or something? That must be why they invented the People’s Choice Awards and the Palm Springs International Film Festival, to keep wacko fashions in the public eye at all times.
Two of Hollywood’s handsomest men convened on The Ides of March premiere red carpet. Ryan Gosling and George Clooney physically cannot turn off their oozing charm and certainly didn’t bother last night. The gentlemen took to a giant poster of their faces, penning half a mustache and under-eye bags, chuckling it up all the while in their perfectly dapper suits.
They gleamed so much gorgeous light, we hardly noticed Evan Rachel Wood, Marisa Tomei, Rooney Mara and Clooney’s rumored girlfriend du jour Stacy Keibler on the carpet as well. Drool over Ryorge (our new nickname for the duo) in the gallery below. [Photo: Getty Images]
That’s twice in one week for Emma Stone and the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York. She was just there for the premiere for Friends With Benefits (photos) looking fab in a contrasting Giambattista Valli dress, and she’s knocked it out of the ball park again at the Crazy, Stupid Love event. We love that Tom Ford dress on her and it toally helps that she’s wearing Christian Louboutin pumps and that Ferragamo clutch. She strutted alongside Ryan Gosling who looked spry in a suit that made us even bigger fans of the Baby Goose.
The movie has a pretty stellar cast with Marisa Tomei, Julianne Moore, Steve Carell and Kevin Bacon acting alongside Gosling and Stone. And also Analeigh Tipton who’s turned out to be the luckiest America’s Next Top Model ex-contestant of them all! Also spotted — a super skinny Jonah Hill and the Baldwin brother who isn’t Alec or William! Where was the Bacon during the premiere, though? Oh well, our gallery’s pretty cool regardless of him being in it or not.

While ladies like Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Lawrence were rocking red at the Oscars, there were plenty of grand gowns at the ceremony that didn’t match the carpet. Check our 5 sans-scarlet favorites in the gallery below, from Mila Kunis‘ risque practically-lingerie to Halle Steinfeld‘s darling debutate look to Marisa Tomei‘s old school couture. Colin Firth might be one of the best acceptance speech givers out! Here’s a shot of him from the carpet. #TFL http://plixi.com/p/80559050
There were plenty of big stars on the Oscar red carpet, but the biggest might have been Natalie Portman, whose pregnancy has given her far more curves than she was showing in Black Swan. Check out the mega-gallery below to see everyone from Amy Adams to Russell Brand‘s mom giving up the glam on their way to the Academy Awards.

We’ve already exposed the Costume Gala’s worst-dressed celebs. But for every fashion misfire at this glamour fest, dozens of stunning outfits created by the world’s best designers adorned the stunning bodies of the world’s most famous people. This year’s theme was “The Model as Muse.” So it should come as no surprise that skin was on display in abundance. From open-backed gowns (Kate Moss, Ciara) to high hems (Gisele, Rachel Bilson) to semi-bare midriffs (Claudia Schiffer, Eva Longoria Parker), the gala was an orgy of flawless flesh. Check the pics.
Some lucky Oscar winner could not just go home with a prized statuette, but with an extra million bucks! The makers of Airborne have offered to give 1 million dollars to charity if any of the major winners lugs the product onstage during their acceptance speech.
The offer has been extended to all those in the Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actor and Actress category.
Airborne co-founder Robert McDowell said of the big bucks proposal, “It just seemed to me, in this economy, charities are really struggling. It seemed like a good time to reward some charities, and, if it goes through, we’ll be thrilled to provide the funds to the charity.”
Who will bite at Airborne’s million dollar product placement offer? If Brad and Angelina sign up and get the dough, some very lucky orphans might be getting a new school. But if Best Actor nominee Mickey Rourke is the big winner, surely the The Wrestler star will ease the pain of losing “the love of his life” by purchasing a fantastic Chihuahua farm!
