Pam Anderson To Kim Kardashian: PETA’s Love-Hate Relationship With Celebs

PETA has always had a love-hate relationships with celebrities. Some star studs like Justin Bieber have won the hearts of animal lovers by gracing PETA ads. Some celebs have even stripped down to step up for the cause of animal rights. However, there’s always those celebrities who blaze their own fur trail and send PETA in a hot rage like Kim Kardashian most recently did.

Your Halloween Guide To TV: Ghosts, Martha Stewart, Witches And Butt-head

So, we’re a little bit obsessed with Halloween here at VH1 headquarters. (One glance at Best Week Ever should prove that much.) And since I finished my costume a week early this year, I have extra time to enjoy how much every other TV network in the country is also obsessed with the holiday. From vampires and witches to fairy tales and murderers, it’s as good a time to stay indoors as it is to go bobbing for apples — that’s what the kids do these days, right?

Monday: Martha Stewart’s Haunted House
8 p.m. Hallmark
Martha doesn’t do anything halfway, but Halloween has always been an excuse for her to go extra craft-crazy. Tonight, she’s teaching you how to create a haunted house and has Justin Long, one of the least-scary actors on the planet, do something to spook small children. My glue gun is ready!

Tuesday: Zombies: A Living History
8 p.m., History Channel
Lots of historical experts scare the sh– out of me with their talk of how the zombie virus could actually come to be, while actors moan and shuffle in the background. Watch the trailer here and you’ll see why I may stay indoors forever.

Wednesday: American Horror Story
10 p.m., FX
As anyone who’s ever watched anything before knows, Halloween is the night when the barrier between the living and the dead is thinnest. That’s got to make living in a haunted house extra fun! What’s even more fun/super creepy? Having Zachary Quinto as your interior decorator.

Martha Stewart Learns The Hard Way To Never Canoodle Her Dog

martha_stewart

There are certain rules every pet owner must follow if they want to avoid having their pooch accidentally mangle their face, or at least that’s what we infer from news that Martha Stewart’s dog Francesca ripped her lip open. Rule #1: Never baby-talk your French bulldog as she blissfully sails through Dreamland. “As I leaned down to whisper goodbye to a dozing Francesca, I must have startled her, because she bolted upright with such force that she hit me in the face like a boxing glove hitting an opponent’s face,” Martha explained. “I was entirely startled and my neck snapped back. I felt a bit of whiplash as blood gushed forth from my split lip.” Sometimes when you say sweet nothings into your pup’s ear, it suddenly turns into The Fighter, except less Christian Bale and slightly more slobber. Every dog owner has to be prepared for it.

Not only did Stewart describe the incident in gory detail, but she proceeded to post 34 photos of her nine stiches up on her blog. Having just returned from Florida where she was promoting her green housing project, Martha was able to dash back to New York only slightly worse for wear. Meanwhile, Francesca lies in wait for her next opportunity…

The world was shocked to hear of Natasha Richardson’s sudden and tragic death, and celebrities around the world have expressed their condolences to Liam Neeson and his family.

Mia Farrow: “Natasha is irreplaceable. I cannot think of anyone kinder, more generous, thoughtful, smarter or more fun. She is the godmother of two of my children. The Neesons and Vanessa (Redgrave) have always made me feel a part of their wonderful family. My thoughts and prayers are with them.”

Kevin Spacey: “There are no words to express how tragic Natasha Richardson’s untimely passing is for the theatre community. We hope that the warmth we all feel about her will bring some comfort to those closest to her, who shared her life, her wit, her style and know that she will never be forgotten.”

Alan Cumming: “The term ‘life force’ seems trite but that is what she was: a woman who powered through life and fascinated everyone she encountered. I have been thinking about the times I spent with her since I heard the news of her tragic accident, and the strongest memory I have is of her laughter, her unmistakable throaty laugh. I think that’s a great way to remember someone.”

Jodie Foster: “Natasha was brilliant, beautiful, funny, talented beyond measure, as emotionally raw as she was razor sharp. … May Liam, her beautiful boys and her loving family hold her close as they move through this tragic moment.”

Oprah Winfrey : “I just want to say how deeply saddened I am, we all are, by the sudden passing of actress Natasha Richardson yesterday. Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband Liam Neeson , their two sons, the rest of their family and friends. Yet another reminder of how fleeting life can be and how precious. We need to value every moment.”

Lindsay Lohan: “She was a wonderful woman and actress and treated me like I was her own. I didn’t see much of her over the years, but I will miss her. My heart goes out to her family. This is a tragic loss.”

Padma Lakshmi:
“She was great. She was lovely. She was just like one of the gang. She was very, very articulate. She was very, very opinionated. She was very compassionate. She had a very sophisticated palate.”

Dame Judi Dench: “She had an incredibly luminous quality, that you seldom see, and a great sense of humor. I thought she was a really great actress.”

Kelly Ripa :“She was a lady. I can’t tell you enough what a good person she was, and fun and vivacious and the most full of life.”
