Jordin Sparks’ Sparkle Fashion Makes Us Want To “Celebrate” Too

Jordin Sparks in the "Celebrate" video

For a while now, we’ve been thinking of Sparkle as “the movie that makes us really sad about Whitney Houston.” We probably weren’t alone, which is why the release of Jordin Sparks’ video for the soundtrack single “Celebrate” was a brilliant move. The movie pays touching homage to Whitney, who plays mother to a 1960s girl group, while also urging us to brush off those sad feelings and get up and dance. By the end, we not only want to go out and see the movie, starring Sparks, Carmen Ejogo and Tika Sumpter, we want to go shopping and buy all of their dresses first. The video intercuts scenes from the movie with new scenes in which the girls, plus co-stars Mike Epps, Omari Hardwick, Derek Luke and a few others, party in updated but vintage-inspired dresses and suits.

Sparks is flirty and fun in the orange cocktail dress above (with Derek Luke as the perfect accessory!). We love the modern cut mixed with that mod-’60s tailoring and bow in the back.

This animal-print, pleated dress shows off Jordin’s super-svelt figure. Its the most contemporary of the bunch but mixes nicely with the other pieces.

Mike Epps Curses Out Process Server For Interrupting His Show

While comedians are expected to keep their cool over hecklers, the stakes were a little different for Mike Epps recently. The comedian (and regular Ice Cube sidekick) just finished a series of stand-up dates in Texas, with his Grand Prairie gig Friday interrupted by a process server, who threw papers at the star (a photographer is suing him over an alleged assault in Detroit last year). “B—, f— you” said Epps into the mic. “This is from when I whooped that n—a’s ass in Detroit that time…B—, I don’t give a f—! Suck my d— on the back, ho! Money ain’t a problem, b—! I got a lot of problems, but money ain’t one. Thank you!” Surprisingly, Mike never mentioned the matter on Twitter until the video was posted online (“I am built for this s— !!!”), cracking Mother’s Day jokes and promoting his new movie Jumping The Broom instead.
