Carrie Underwood And Mike Fisher Wed Secretly

Now that Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are married, does this mean there’s another Carrie Fisher in Hollywood? Are American Idol nerds and Star Wars geeks going to get thoroughly confused by who’s who? Doubtful. However, the new Mr. and Mrs. Fisher did elude the paps and the general public long enough to pull off a super secret wedding ceremony in Georgia full of celebs.

The pair married at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Georgia in front of 250 guests who reportedly didn’t know where the ceremony would be until the last minute. The couple released a statement to People saying, “We could not feel more blessed to have found each other and to have shared this day with our friends and family that mean so much to us!” and signed it “Mike and Carrie Fisher.”

Country stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill were in attendance as were Idol Judges Randy Jackson, Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul, who gave incoherent musical feedback to the wedding band (we wish). Congratulations to the new couple on the nuptials and their ability to keep all the details on lockdown for so long!

Carrie Underwood’s Engagement Ring Is Bigger Than She Is

This post would be about how skinny Carrie Underwood has gotten (too skinny, girl!), if we weren’t so damn distracted by her brand-new engagement ring. Even by Hollywood standards, the thing is huge (Check out a gallery of The Most Fabulous Celebrity Engagement Rings). Surely it’s a burden for her to lift her hand without that thing dragging her to the ground (not that we know from experience).

The rock comes courtesy of her new fiance, hockey player Mike Fisher, who is rumored to have paid a sweet six-figure sum for the twinkling monstrosity. Materialism aside, he seems like a good catch. Carrie Underwood Makeover: Fab Or Fail?

Carrie Underwood entered the fourth season of American Idol as a 21-year-old country girl from Oklahoma who favored T-shirts, jeans and no makeup and listed her hero as “mommy” on her Idol application. Carrie lived on a farm, far from the glitz and glamour of Los Angeles and pleaded in a country drawl on her Idol audition video, “I wanna go to Hollywood really bad.” After Carrie won the season, she released the best-selling female country debut album of all time, graced numerous red carpets in fabulous gowns, and dated some of Hollywood’s hottest eligible bachelors (Chace Crawford, Tony Romo and current hockey player beau Mike Fisher).

Carrie became educated on designer labels and chucked her overalls. “I’ll go home and one of my friends will say, ‘Oh my, gosh, those shoes are so cute.’ And I’ll say, ‘Oh, they’re Christian Loubotin’s.’ They’re like, ‘What?’ she told Glamour. She also started stocking up at Sephora. “I have a giant makeup case, more makeup than any girl should have in her lifetime,” she admits. Carrie also shed her country girl pounds by doing cardio workouts and keeping a diary of everything she eats. In just a few years Carrie morphed from goofy farm girl to sophisticated fashionista.
