While the rest of us are getting our summer wardrobes together, it seems the warm weather vibe has stalled on the celebrity front. A few stars have tried out some looks that reflect the summer season, but they clearly have their heads in the sand, because their outfits aren’t cutting it. Who made this week’s list of style setbacks?
We thought this post was going to be about a wardrobe malfunction when we first saw these photos if Milla Jovovich shooting an ad, reportedly for Nine West, in New York’s Meatpacking District yesterday. But instead, we want to point out something else. Well maybe not instead. Just first. So if you’re reading this post just to see Milla’s butt, stop reading and click on the photos below.
What we’d like to point out is how insanely happy Milla looks as she’s being picked up and swung around by Brazilian actor/model Carlos Casagrande. Even when she sticks her tongue out, possibly after someone’s mistake made them have to reshoot the scene. It kind of makes us want to see the Resident Evil star try her hand at lighter roles.
OK, now back to your regularly scheduled wardrobe malfunction post. We think she’s not going commando but rather wearing a thong. The slightly NSFW closeups in the gallery below seem to prove as much, don’t they? And if you’re that happy and being swung around in a circle by a gorgeous Brazilian actor/model, and also you have the body of Milla Jovovich are you really going to care who sees your butt? Didn’t think so.

The 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards went down on Saturday night at at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in L.A. Lovely ladies like Kat Graham, Ali Larter and Milla Jovovich attended. Larter looked tiny in a ruched red Zac Posen dress while Jovovich was draped in vintage Halston. Kat nailed it in a strapless black gown by Indian designer duo Alpana Neeraj. Grand dames like Betty White made an appearance too. She walked the red carpet with Wendie Malick and Jane Leeves — her co-stars on Hot in Cleveland.
Cher and Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack presented the Stephen F. Kolzak Award to Chaz Bono for making a significant difference in promoting equality. We also love that Josh Hutcherson got the Vanguard Award for the LGBT ally organization he co-founded called Straight But Not Narrow. The award was presented to him by Benicio del Toro, no less. Have a look for yourselves at all the very evident camaraderie between the stars in the gallery below.

The big stars are just beginning to arrive at the 84th Annual Academy Awards, and we’re chomping at the bit to see who will shine and who will totally flop on the red carpet tonight. Just to get things warmed up, let’s take a look at the ladies who either couldn’t wait to get there, or whose publicists really wanted to assure them lengthy interviews (while all the reporters are just biding their time until Brad and Angie and George and Stacey show up). It’s the first Oscars for some, like Milla Jovovich, though you wouldn’t tell by the way she’s killing it with a dazzling sequined Elie Saab. Sequins seem to be the early trend — they’re also a big feature on Rose Byrne’s Vivienne Westwood and Ellie Kemper’s Armani Prive. Berenice Bejo is also wearing Elie Saab, but she chose beading over sequins. Berenice’s hair is our fave of the night so far — we’re kind of envying her Tyra-esque high forehead. Missi Pyle is an early winner, if only because she manages to make the phrase “cruelty-free silkworms” seem like the next big thing in fashion. Check out the gallery for our early pics below, and then watch along on MTV News’ live stream for more!

Orlando Bloom as a really camp villain in The Three Musketeers? That’s something we have to see! Logan Lerman‘s breathing new life into the character of D’Artagnan and although we have a major soft spot for him, the wardrobe department really needed to give him a better wig. Seriously, guys? That hair is not working and he’s far too pretty to be messed with.
We’re also totally loving the casting choices of Mads Mikkelson and Matthew MacFadyen as well, the latter of whom we adored as Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice. But what’s really floating our boats is Bloom’s character and his evil partnership with badass assassin Milla Jovovich. Who seems to kick butt in some really pretty gowns, so how can we not be sold? Add a plot to take over Europe and some flying ships and we’re totally giving this movie a shot. Also, will you just look at Orlando’s coiffure? It’s a work of art!
This is the life! The eighteenth annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS gala took place yesterday at the Cannes Film Festival. The super schmancy event was held at the Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France and involved the usual — gowns and jewelry worth approximately three of our lifetimes! Kirsten Dunst showed up looking as fresh as a daisy, completely unaffected by the rumor that her nighttime partying kept Brangelina up all night.
Janet Jackson looked pretty svelte and rocked some bright blue nail polish! Irina Shayk showed up with a slit cut up till there, while cuties Dev Patel and Frieda Pinto snuggled up for the cameras. Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani added a bit of punk to the proceedings while old hands Goldie Hawn and Brooke Shields looked flawless in dull gold and white respectively. Join us in our envy by taking a look at the photos below. We’re making margaritas!

Welcome to The Daily Hot – our round-up of the sexiest pics and stories on the interwebs. Today’s steaming pile of hotness:
Fashion Week is in New York, right? Then why exactly are all the stars on the other side of the country in Beverly Hills? That’s because Tom Ford called—and is as sexy as ever, BTW—and when he throws a ‘do, everyone shows up. Ford opened his flagship store in Beverly Hills yesterday, and it turned out to be a mini fashion week in it’s own right, as expected.
The love of our life, Colin Firth was there with the love of his life, wife Livia. Rosario Dawson teemed up her little black dress with a pair of leopard print pumps, while Eva Longoria went slinky in a pair of sequined black pants. Milla Jovovich was risque in a plunging sheer black blouson, hiding her modesty with a houndstooth suit. We were kinda disappointed by two men who normally make us drool every time we see them. Alexander Skarsgard and Bradley Cooper, to be precise. Skarsgard looked strangely parboiled with a weirdish, uneven tan — like he had sunglasses on while the rest of his face ended up getting sunburnt. Cooper had these creepy old man sunglasses on which were a little too Jack Nicholson for us. Adrien Brody, on the other hand, didn’t disappoint sticking to his usual lounge lizard style.
The most unusual outfit of the evening went to Ginnifer Goodwin. While her pant suit looked normal (and kinda boring, to be honest) from the front, turn around and bam… giraffes! For more mega celebrity action —including the always adorable Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson and a heavily preggers Rachel Zoe — check out the gallery below. [Photos: Getty Images]
We’d like to say two things. First, we love Milla Jovovich. She’s been in a lot of good movies and she’s kind of this awesome action star/cool mom/pothead/fanboy obsession that a lot of other actresses can only hope to be. Also, we owned her album when we were in high school, which should prove our loyalty to her. The second thing is that we only wish we had the fashion-balls to wear what she is wearing in this photo, but there’s no way we could pull it off. Having said that, for real Milla, what are you wearing?
Last week, Claudia Schiffer got her fashion sense from our Nana, and we feel like Milla, who was at a Tommy Hilfiger bag launch in Spain, directly cribbed this look from our Grampy. No one rocked the plaid slacks quite like he could. Back in 1973.
Is this a trend? Should we be filing a lawsuit on behalf of groovy, retro grandparents everywhere whose looks are being copied? Pretty soon fashion magazines are just going to be replaced with those clear plastic photo cubes that lived on coffee tables everywhere when we were growing up. [Photo: Getty Images]
