Nick Cannon has been seen as nothing but a loving father to “dem babies” Monroe and Moroccan, but recent comments on Twitter have some fans (and parents) growing concerned. The star admitted to being much more strict than his wife Mariah Carey, and claimed to be cool with taking some extreme measures to disciplining his kids.
How could anyone keep up an arbitrary feud when they have cuteness like this in their lives, right? Not that we’re suggesting the timing of the release of another batch of super-adorbs pics of Moroccan and Monroe Cannon is in any way related to Mariah Carey quashing rumors that she’s feuding with fellow new American Idol judge Nicki Minaj. It’s just a very good argument in favor of Mariah being a sweet and fun mama, not the diva she’s been painted as.
“How are we gonna feud in two days? A feud takes a little longer to spread out [than that],” Carey told MTV News as she sat with the rest of the judges before taping auditions in New York on Monday. “It’s fun, it’s music, it’s singing, it’s laughter,” she added of what her first few days as a judge have been like.

Ridiculous hats — check! Crazy sunglasses — double check! Celebs can be just like us sometimes, especially when it comes to July 4 celebrations. Beyonce, Fergie and the Jenners were just a few of the celebs who couldn’t wait to show the world their fab 4th ensembles. We especially loved the candy-apple red lips on Miley Cyrus and Victoria Justice! And of course some took advantage of the red, white and blue day to show off their hot bikini bods. Tweeting pics from picnics, parties, and poolside, these stars clearly had a blast with fam and friends celebrating Independence Day.

We’re not even sure whether we should be helping this story to spread, for fear it may cause copycats: At an event honoring CNN host Piers Morgan in Los Angeles on Friday night (as part of BritWeek), Morgan shared the story of how his former fellow America’s Got Talent judge Sharon Osbourne once pranked him, according to the New York Daily News. While traveling on a private plane with Osbourne, AGT judge Howie Mandel and host Nick Cannon, Morgan said he woke up to find Osbourne’s naked breasts dangling in his face. He called it “a scene from Dante’s Inferno” and the “world’s worst nightmare.” That’s hardly fair to Osbourne, who has admitted to paying good money for those nightmares!
OK, we kind of love this story — it’s proof that even though Sharon’s gone from planning Ozzfest with her metal god husband to co-hosting The Talk to entertain housewives, she hasn’t lost her wild side. Also, it makes us aware that TV personalities on private airplanes behave just like we did on the bus during high school field trips.

OK, so Jason Bateman and Olivia Wilde’s fish-mouth kiss happened while filming The Longest Week in Brooklyn today, rather than, say, during a romantic date to the aquarium. That being said, that is truly one awkward lip lock. Are we all supposed to be opening our jaws that wide? Have we been doing it wrong this entire time? While we might personally prefer to do our weird, uncomfortable smooching in the privacy of our own homes, we do enjoy cringing at awkward PDAs, provided there are famous peeps involved. Thoughts of getting slimed at the Kids Choice Awards on Saturday in L.A. didn’t bother the likes of Kourtney Kardashian, Miley Cyrus or Selena Gomez. While Kourtney and Miley turned up in floor length gowns (Miss Cyrus’ even had a long train), Selena went cutesy in a white shorts-sheer top combo while posing with Cory Montieth. Nick Cannon went the white route as well, accessorizing with a pair of large white headphones.
Looking a tad more silly was Josh Duhamel who put on a purple bow tie that matched his shades. The Hilton sisters looked equally demure in shades of beige and white, and we can’t even describe what Willow Smith had on. Two words: gold lurex. Oh, Nick Cannon, we should have known you’d be the kind of guy to get off on a big April Fool’s joke. Cannon fled NY’s 92.3 Now mid-show this morning, announcing “Real talk, I gotta go, my wife!” after taking a phone call, with the station then tweeting “this could be the BIG DAY!!!” Perez Hilton, a regular call-in guest, was told about the hubbub, and quickly posted an exclusive that Mariah was in labor. Cannon’s co-worker Nikki Hesse even said on air “We just spoke to him on the phone. He’s going to airport right now bc (because) she’s in L.A… Confirming news from Nick Cannon… It’s time!! He’s on the way to (the) airport. He is keeping us updated throughout the rest of show. Stay tuned for an update.”
That update did eventually come, on Nick Cannon’s Twitter. “Just pulled the best April Fools’ prank on my radio show 92.3 Now FM. Got to take most of the morning off! LOL Sorry… April Fools.” Needless to say, Perez was pretty pissed, changing the headline “Mariah Carey In Labor” to “Nick Cannon is lame.” Maybe Nick will make it up to him by having Perez be the godfather.

Good thing that Mariah Carey‘s babies didn’t decide to make an appearance on her birthday. We’re sure she’s going to be a great Mom, but let the diva have her big day, okay? MC’s birthday was on Sunday, March 27 (happy happies to you), and perhaps the excitement got to her, because she started having contractions on the eve of the big day. Mariah tweeted, “So #dembabies really wanted 2 celebrate w/us/share the anniversary! I started having contractions last night..went 2 the hospital.” Perhaps she was being modest and didn’t want to announce that it was also the birthday? Her third year anniversary with husband, Nick Cannon is on April 30.
She also tweeted the all-clear letting fans know she was okay and that it was just a false alarm, writing, “Finally they said I could come home after they got it under control but..” and then adding, “They almost came on 3/27- happy anniversary in deed!!! We have a few more weeks 2 go but- wow!!!#soreadyallready!” Well, a month to go, but in Mariah-land, celebrations can start whenever she says so. Can’t wait to see #dembabies.
Nickelodeon was a platform for quite a few young stars to get their start in the world of acting back in the 1990′s. We can admit to watching some of these old shows, and we’re kind of excited to hear that NickTeen is planning to bring back some of our favorites like Clarissa Explains It All, All That, Kenan and Kel, and The Adventures Of Pete And Pete starting this fall. (We’re really hoping that The Secret World Of Alex Mack makes a comeback, too!)

Certain celebrities are known for their love of luxurious things. Jennifer Lopez, Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyonce and Jay-Z—they’ve all been known to enjoy the finer things in life, but now it seems like Mariah Carey‘s unborn children might put them all to shame. And these people are still fetuses!
Now Magazine reports that Carey and husband Nick Cannon have outfitted a luxury nursery for their babies. The room itself reportedly has “18-carat gold trim, with ivory walls, soft furnishings and walk-in wardrobes full of Petit Trésor designer clothes.” And what of the babies’ home entertainment options? Why, there will also be “a top-of-the-range sound system and they’ll each have diamond-encrusted iPods and a flatscreen TV that comes down from the ceiling.” Diamond-encrusted iPods for infants! This can’t be real, can it? But if it is real it’s the greatest thing we’ve heard all day. Oh, and we forgot to mention that Mariah also purchased a “$1 million red-crushed velvet, 24-carat gold and onyx sofa used for Michael Jackson‘s shows.” Because you gotta relax and listen to your iPod somewhere!
