Nicole Kidman‘s role in Grace Of Monaco has gotten much attention, especially with the film making its debut at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. However, the real life children of the movie’s subject, actress-turned-princess Grace Kelly, have come out against the film and called it “a farce.”
It seems like celebrities have it all: a great job, tons of money, great fashion and passionate romances. Oh, and babies. It doesn’t matter if these Hollywood heavyweights put off starting a family to jumpstart their successful careers. The 10 celebrities on this list all became mothers past the age of 40.
Can Nicole Kidman see ghosts? Is Penelope Cruz a Sex and the City fan? How can Fox make the X-Men franchise like the Avengers?
Who doesn’t love a juicy biopic? It’s delicious getting a behind-the-scenes look at the lives of luminaries — but only when the casting works. The actor doesn’t even have to look exactly like the icon being portrayed, as long as the performance is genius, we’re all in (hello, Ali and Mommie Dearest). But more often than not, biopic casting goes way off the rails. Lindsay Lohan and her plumped-up lips as Elizabeth Taylor? Travesty! Teenybopper-voiced Jennifer Love Hewitt as the luminous Audrey Hepburn? Unfathomable. Colin Farrell mincing about in blonde highlights as Alexander the Great? We’re giggling just thinking about it.
When Idris Elba signed on to play Nelson Mandela in the new film Mandela: The Long Walk To Freedom, he not only had to play one of the most recognizable men in history without it seeming like an impression, but he also had to capture the vitality of the man in his youth. Nelson Mandela isn’t just a peace maker or a former rebel. As seen we see in Mandela: The Long Walk To Freedom, he was also a ladies man.
And so, Elba joins a long list of hot actorss like Nicole Kidman, Amanda Seyfried and Ashton Kutcher who have had to either turn down (or turn up) their looks to match the hotness of the historic heroes and legendary celebs they’ve been hired to play.
It’s the oldest profession in the world, but it’s also one of the oldest fictional tropes: the hooker with the heart of gold. There are countless tales in television and film of women who sell their love for money–and for some reason we can’t stop falling in love with them! The 25 women on this list are ranked by how much they charm us, how much they tug on our heartstrings and of course, how much we want to believe they love us, too.
Is Jake Gyllenhaal upset if you think he’s gay? Why does Emma Thompson find young actors snobby? Which is the better franchise: Star Trek or Star Wars?
A High School Musical star gets quite a scare, America Ferrara finishes college…after 10 years, and a special (animal) guest may pop up tonight on New Girl.
Valentine’s Day came early this year, as some of the hottest couples in the music biz took a stroll down the red carpet at the 2013 Grammy Awards. Musicians aren’t known for ever being short on arm candy, but this year’s ceremony seemed even more paired off than normal. Seriously, if you were invited the Grammys and you didn’t take your boo, you’re gonna be in the doghouse til next year!
The SAG Awards were full of lovely ladies and gents in black and blue who did not in any way remind us of bruises, along with welcome splashes of silver and purple, but what we loved across the board on the 15 outfits we’ve selected below is the way their cuts play up the perfect bodies of their wearers. Amanda Seyfried feared walking in her glorious Zac Posen, and Jennifer Lawrence almost tripped on her Dior as she stepped up to accept Best Female Actor, but we appreciate the sacrifices they made in the name of fashion. Tina Fey continued the winning streak she began at the Golden Globes, and Kiernan Shipka continued the one she’ll probably be on for decades more to come. It was all a pretty good showing for yet another contest for a naked statuette!
