What does Alec Baldwin think of Shia LaBeouf: theater expert? And who scored the most nominations for the MTV Movie Awards? The answers to this, and more are in today’s Last Lap…
We couldn’t resist the “Disco Mom” Bit for Snooki but couldn’t resist it due to that Studio 54-ish gold headband in this picture . The petite reality star got on Celebuzz around the New Year to show off her new tattoo — it’s her sixth one — to the world. There are leopard spots, people. But it’s Snooki, there had to be leopard spots in it. She also posted a lengthy explanation of what her new ink signified, and although it looks a bit like a Griffin to us, she says it’s, “My fierce leopard tattoo. I wanted to get this because to me it represents being a strong independent woman, and obviously I love leopards/leopard print! The crown represents being a queen and being fabulous, and the wings represent everyone who has passed in my family.” That’s pretty sweet, you have to admit. The tattoo was inked by her favorite artist in L.A., Bryce Oprandi , at the The Martlet Tattoo and this post is going to mark the start of a short series by Snooki. She explained saying, “Every Monday I am going to be showing you one of my tattoos and the story behind it, so make sure you come back to find out about my other 5 tattoos and what I am planning on getting for my 7th!” We’ll be there, Snooksters.

Jessica Simpson confirmed the pregnancy we pretty much all knew about already with a tweet yesterday that read, “Merry Christmas from my family to yours!” accompanying a deadly cute photo of 7-month-old daughter Maxwell Drew in front of the words “Big Sis” written in the sand. It by far surpasses Simpson’s “Mummy” tweet from last Halloween, and also makes us really wish she’d been able to break this news herself, rather than some “friend” who sold the story to Us weeks ago.
UPDATE: Weight Watchers also let Jessica announce her new pregnancy in a 30-second ad, released today. “Being healthy has become a part of who I am, which is great timing, because I’m having another baby,” she says. (WW made sure to add a printed message on the ad that says, “Pregnant women are not eligible to join Weight Watchers. Jessica has stopped following the plan and intends to return after she gives birth.”)
The announcement made us think back to all the other varied ways in which celebrity moms announced their big news to the world in 2012. Here are some of our favorites:
Snooki’s “OMG! I’m Pregnant!” Us Weekly Headline: This is another one we pretty much already knew about before the story was published, but the fact that we could totally hear Snooki’s voice as we read that headline made it more unique than your typical pregnancy story sold to a tabloid.
Amber Rose Follows Beyonce’s Example: Following a couple of weeks of speculation, Amber accompanied Wiz Khalifa to the MTV VMAs this year in a lacy skintight gown and caressed her little bump on the red carpet, leaving no more doubt about their big news. Months later, it looked like Jenna Dewan-Tatum was doing the same red-carpet reveal in her flowy princess gown at VH1 DIVAS, but she and Channing Tatum decided to let us guess for a few more hours before going the typical publicist-to-magazine route.
We always appreciate celebrities who take to Twitter and Instagram and share their lives with us. And while a lot of what they share is amusing insight into their world, it’s safe to say some of their most entertaining tweets are shots of their ink. Let’s face it, tattoos are fascinating forms of self-expression and it’s always interesting to see what people permanently etch into their skin — especially celebrities.
Lady Gaga, Drake, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Adam Lambert and more got their ink on this year. And despite commending them for braving the needle, some tattoos are just worse than others. We’ve ranked them from our least to most favorite, so browse through our gallery of 20 Instagram shots and Twitpics and tell which is your favorite celeb tattoo of 2012.
Over the past year nail art has reached new heights of popularity among celebrities — and regular people too. Stars usually step out on the red carpet with a fresh manicure, but of late, nails have stopped being merely an accessory and have evolved into a focal point. Zooey Deschanel kicked off the year with adorable tuxedo nails at the 2012 Golden Globes and Katy Perry, Demi Lovato, Rihanna and Amber Rose have followed suit, stepping up the style on their digits and, for our benefit, documenting their creativity on Instagram and Twitter along the way.
Browse through our gallery and tell us which celebs hit the nail(s) on the head in 2012.
The holidays are a time to celebrate goodwill for all human kind. And that’s cool and all, but that stuff gets sort of old after a while. So now let’s take a minute and take a look at all famous folks who didn’t get the peace and harmony memo! We’ve assembled our list of the top 20 most brutal celebrity beat-downs of 2012. Join us in a chant of “Fight fight fight!” and check it out!
20. Rita Ora vs. Rob Kardashian: Rita Whora’s Revenge
Rob Kardashian didn’t handle his heartbreak all that great following his split with Rita Ora. Instead of posting passive aggressive Facebook statuses like the rest of us, he went on an all-out Twitter assault against his former flame, claiming that she cheated on him with 20 dudes, and coining the obvious pun, “Rita Whora,” which became a trending topic soon after. #Revenge? #SmallVictories
Stitches required: Just 1 for Rob’s broken heart.
It’s been three years since Snooki and her famous poof arrived at the Jersey Shore, and our world was forever altered. The reality star has had lot to celebrate this year: a new baby, a fiancé, tons of endorsement deals and now her 25th birthday. Who would have ever thought the tan Poughkeepsie native would hold such a permanent place in the hearts of Jersey Shore fans?
Now she’s all grown up and moving on to bigger and better things, but we hope she doesn’t chill out too much. We have a funny feeling we won’t have to worry about that, though. In honor of her quarter century making this planet a little more orange, we would like to look back at some of her most insane moments! And while we hope there are more to come we are definitely going to enjoy watching this somewhat toned-down guidette take over the world!

Snooki switched it up yesterday, trading her trademark brunette tresses for an intense “Poison Ivy” red! The Jersey Shore star helpfully live-tweeted the hair-raising experience for her fans, complete with tons of photos. “Dying my hair! Guess what color I’m going!!!” she wrote before giving us photo updates. First she was bleached out by celeb stylist Bradley Moreland of New York’s Gemini 14 salon, and then the new crimson color was applied. For a few minutes there the dye turned her hair more of an orangey-hue, but eventually it dried into a fiery red. “&the final product is….Poison ivy.” She even got some pretty sweet hair extensions, too. Take a closer look in the gallery below!
Considering what a controversy the cast of Jersey Shore has stirred up ever since their show first aired on MTV, we think this is a great step for them and their adopted hometown of Seaside Heights. After witnessing the devastation done to their summer haunt during Superstorm Sandy, the show is teaming up with Architecture for Humanity for a benefit called Restore the Shore, airing live next Thursday, November 15 at 11 p.m. ET (tape-delayed for the West Coast). The money raised will help rebuild the boardwalk and assist the people who live and work in the affected region.
According to the press release we got this morning, the special will also feature special guests to be announced. Who do you think they should invite? Here are our suggestions:
- Everyone a Jersey Shore star has ever fought with on the show. What better way to demonstrate how Jerseyans come together in a time of crisis?
- The cast of every other Jersey-set show that has been accused of promoting negative stereotypes of the state: Real Housewives of New Jersey, The Sopranos, that lawyer show no one watched.
