As if we weren’t already sad about the too-soon death of 54-year-old actor Michael Clarke Duncan, today we learned that it happened just months before he was set to get married. We’d seen reality-TV vet Omarosa Manigault referred to as both Duncan’s girlfriend and fiancee, so we kind of assumed they were engaged. But now comes a report from TMZ that says the two had been keeping their engagement from the media and had told only close family and friends. They had started to plan the wedding just before the Green Mile star suffered a heart attack on July 13.
“I am devastated,” Manigault told Radar of her loss on Monday. “He was the love of my life.”
Defying the bad-girl persona she’d cultivated on The Apprentice, Omarosa was actually the one who saved her fiance’s life back in July, when she found him in a state of cardiac arrest and administered CPR to him. According to TMZ, she flew doctors in from all over the world in an attempt to help Duncan recover, but he remained hospitalized since the incident. It’s even more devastating to learn that she had left town briefly for an engagement and just returned to L.A. on Monday night.
Our hearts go out to her and the rest of Duncan’s family.

Actor Michael Clarke Duncan died suddenly on Monday at age 54, after never fully recovering from the myocardial infarction he suffered on July 13. A rep told TMZ that fiancee Omarosa Manigault had briefly left his hospital room, where he’d been staying since he fell ill in July, and when she returned he had died. As news quickly spread of his passing, it became clear that the Oscar nominee will be missed not just by his fans, friends and family, but very deeply by his fellow actors.
“I am devastated,” Apprentice alum Omarosa told Radar of her loss. “He was the love of my life.”
”When something happens, we always say it happens for a reason” ~ Michael Clarke Duncan 12/10/57 – 9/3/12 I’ll miss you my brother,” wrote Dwayne Johnson of his co-star in The Scorpion King.
“RIP Michael Clarke Duncan. Thank you for being so kind to me & for sharing your talent with the world. You will be truly missed,” Jordin Sparks tweeted of the Green Mile star.
Talk about being eternally in someone’s debt. A few days ago Michael Clarke Duncan‘s girlfriend, Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, found him at around 2 AM in a state of cadiac arrest. She immediately sprang into action and administered CPR on him. The Green Mile star was then brought to the hospital for further treatment and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. While there he was visited by his The Finder co-star, , who told TMZ that ”[he] saw him … he’s looking good … thats all we know right now.”
In a statement to Us Weekly, we learned that “Michael Clarke Duncan suffered a myocardial infarction,” but thanks to Omarosa’s quick thinking, he’s doing very well and they are looking forward to his full recovery.
We suggest that Michael should probably start perusing for some pretty kick ass gift ideas for the gf, since you know, she saved his life! Guess you can’t really put a money sign on that favor, but it’s definitely worth at least a romantic getaway. Maui, perhaps?
And from all of us here at VH1, we wish you a speedy recovery!

With so much reality TV on the air, it’s no surprise that shows have wound up recycling celebs. But which stars keep coming back for more and more punishment? Which have signed on to project after project? Which have actually clocked the most reality shows? Ignoring obvious legends-in-their-own-time as Katie Price, New York and Megan Hauserman, we instead focused on those who seem to hop from network to network, show to show—and sometimes country to country. These stars have all appeared on at least four or more shows, and will undoubtedly do many more in the years to come. Call them reality whores—ready to sacrifice their private lives for your entertainment, again and again.
