Fall is officially here, and with it comes the ability to wrap ourselves in chunky sweaters and pull out those knee-high (or higher!) boots we’ve been staring at all summer long. To make sure we’re staying stylish in the cooler months, VH1 caught up with celebrities to see what they’re wearing this season. From man of many talents, Nick Cannon, to Orange Is The New Black‘s Uzo Aduba, find out what trends they’re most excited to try.
Penn Badgley opens up about life after Blake Lively, Kate Moss bares all, and fans meet Leonardo DiCaprio’s younger counterpart in The Great Gatsby.
Honestly, when we heard they were casting an actor to play late singer Jeff Buckley, a role that attracted Robert Pattinson, Reeve Carney, James Franco and every other white man in Hollywood with devastating cheekbones, we didn’t immediately assume any of the guys from Gossip Girl would be right for the role. However we just watched Penn Badgley in the trailer for Greetings From Tim Buckley, which premiered last week at the Toronto International Film Festival, and Dan Humphrey is bringing it. Why do his puppy dog eyes seem soulful instead of twee? How are we being completely drawn into the narrative! It can’t just be those cheekbones!
Looks like Penn is equally impressed with this performance. “Nobody thought I could do it,” Badgley laughed in his Vulture interview yesterday. “I have to choose my words carefully, but I mean this in just the most plain way: I knew I could do it. I was not concerned about the singing. I was concerned about doing it in the right way, because I actually can imitate him more than I did in the movie.” Well, maybe Penn’s has reason to be that confident. “It was kind of terrifying because I was the only person who thought I could do it,” he admits now. The movie has yet to get a release date, but hopefully Penn has enough time to snag an Oscar nom for his roll. Then we’ll have a good excuse to spend 72 man hours digging up the teeny bopper single he recorded as a child. “Well, when you come to L.A. as a kid with your mom, you’re lured into doing things that you think are cool and fun and a good idea, but they’re cheesy and awful. And recording a pop single was one of them,” Penn sighs. “It’s dismal and will never see the light of day.” Ah, but you probably thought your mega singing talent wouldn’t see the light of day either, and here we are. Here we are.
Donnie Wahlberg, we appreciate the shirtlessness you’re bringing to Twitter. The lip sweaters, not so much. “After 3 months cultivating, countless insults, thousands of requests to shave the #stache,” Donnie tweeted, along with a photo of New Kids on the Block sporting a set of virile mustaches. Countless requests to shave, you say? Yeah, that seems about right. While we’re not going to pretend they’re all suddenly gargoyles now that they’re sporting a little lip magic (Hello, Joey McIntyre. You seem to be doing…very well), overall it’s not a great look.
Of course, Donnie and the gang aren’t the only hot dudes whose facial hair lowers their babe quotient. We know! It doesn’t really make any sense! We love guys with ‘staches and beards as much as you do! But from Leo DiCaprio to Tom Sturridge, Shia LaBeouf to Ben Affleck, we guess some guys just look better clean-shaven. Guys like…
Coachella went down for its second weekend in Indio, California, and as expected, the stars flocked to it again. Last weekend had its fair share of controversies attached to it. Not to the festival per se, but to the many celebrities who attended. What was Lindsay Lohan doing there against her judge’s advice? Who was the mystery dude Emma Watson was with? And what exactly was Rihanna smoking? So many questions. No answers just yet. But in contrast, this last weekend of Coachella seemed easy-peasy.
Some celebrities, like Dita von Teese and Busy Philipps, showed up on both Saturday and Sunday. Dita was also spotted hanging out with pal Kelly Osbourne, and her purple hair. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley was seen rocking out to Florence Welch. Twilighters Elizabeth Reaser and Nikki Reed (with hubby Paul McDonald) were there, as well as ex-Twilighter Rachelle Lefevre. Joe Jonas hatted up, while Joe Manganiello (and yay for this) took his shirt off. But the cutest photographs by far, were of Alicia Silverstone with her son Bear Blu. Top marks for the baby-size noise-cancelling headphones! Look out for all of the action in our gallery.

Which Stars Were At Coachella This Weekend And What Were They Doing?
Penn Badgley embodies the tall-dark-and-handsome leading man of Hollywood yesteryear. Ever since appearing on our screens four years ago as the brooding Dan Humphrey in Gossip Girl, we knew big things were on the horizon for this dude. And sure enough, it’s true! He’s starring in this fall’s intense drama Margin Call along side Tinseltown bigwigs like Kevin Spacey, Demi Moore and Jeremy Irons, plus he’s been tapped to play iconic musician Jeff Buckley in an upcoming biopic. But on top of having killer acting chops, Penn is also known for his razor-sharp style. Gossip Girl has one of the classiest television wardrobes this side of Mad Men, and naturally some of that steez rubbed off on its star. And today is his 25th birthday! So in honor of his quarter century on this planet, we’d like to take a look back at Penn’s 25 hottest red-carpet styles. Enjoy!

Penn Badgley seemed kinda sheepish about being photographed at the Occupy Wall Street protest in Downtown Manhattan earlier this week.
“I mean, listen, it’s cheesy,” Badgley told CapitalNewYork.com. “But I want to do whatever I can. Let’s be honest: I’m on f*cking ‘Gossip Girl.’”
But maybe Penn’s selling himself short. Because when we look back at his past deeds, we can tell he’s got politics in his blood. Behold …
There are two Jeff Buckley movies in the works — and the biopic starring Penn Badgley and Imogen Poots just started shooting in Brooklyn this week. Greetings from Tim Buckley is a love story set to the backdrop of Jeff Buckley’s performance at his father’s tribute concert in 1991. Both father and son passed away at a tragically young age: Tim died at 28 from a heroin overdose, Jeff drowned at the age of 31. We’re excited to see Imogen Poots’ star continue to rise; in addition to looking like the super-human love child of Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet, she’s massively talented. Pics below!
It looks like the X-Men bond has been broken, as Zoe Kravitz has split with her First Class costar Michael Fassbender and moved on to Gossip Girl star, Penn Badgley. The two were seen leaving the (aptly named) Friends With Benefits party in the same cab, and more recently they were seen canoodling in a darkened movie theater watching Horrible Bosses. “He had his arm around her while they waited in line,†a source told Page Six.
But it looks like that was the wrong movie to see together, because things got a little awkward for the newly minted couple. Apparently there’s a part of the movie where Jennifer Aniston’s racy character asks, “Did you see Gossip Girl last night? I [bleeped] myself so hard [watching] that Penn Badgley guy, I broke a nail.” According to the witness, this made the real Penn more than a little uncomfortable. “The look on Penn’s face was priceless. They left the theater right after.” Looks like you might have some competition, Zoe!
The announcement of Penn Badgley’s Jeff Buckley biopic has some people questioning whether Penn’s skills extend beyond looking dapper and being the loneliest of boys (both of which he does very well). “I haven’t begun vocal lessons, but I’m taking guitar lessons. I’m obviously, like, throwing myself 200 percent into it,” Badgley reassures New York Mag about his total commitment to the part. “I’m just really prepping in every possible manner, and yeah, vocal lessons will at some point be involved. But it is going to be me playing and singing.” Badgley’s already mastered the art of hair pomade application; clearly musical ability will quickly follow.
Seeing as how rumors of a Robert Pattinson Jeff Buckley film brought out people’s true opinions about which slender, mopey young actor would be better at playing the late musician, Badgley wants everyone to know just how honored he is at the opportunity to do better than Robert Pattinson. “And, you know, the reason I’m telling you is because, obviously, there’s a whole lot of people who are skeptical,” Penn admits. “[S]o I would … I just want to be clear that I’m very moved by the opportunity, and I really am giving myself to it.” We don’t know enough about him, but if Jeff Buckley wore vests and made out with Blake Lively, then Penn has this one in the bag.
