It’s been an epic week for Peter Dinklage. Not only did he just blow our minds on the latest episode of Game of Thrones, but he turns 44 years old today! There is no finer love in this world than good bromance. Yes, men are historically seen as having difficulty showing their affection toward their fellow guys. But when they do, it’s a wonderful thing. It’s sweet, it’s funny, it’s sometimes awkward, but it’s always heart-warming. You know, just two bros being bros, bro-ing out like the two bros that they are. Although somewhat scarce in real life, we have television to thank for some of the greatest bromances of all time!
Melissa McCarthy made her triumphant return to Saturday Night Live last night, but may have been eclipsed by a couple of well placed cameos. The Cold Open featured Bobby Moynihan‘s Kim Jong Un being joined by the actual Dennis Rodman and then Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage made an even bigger–and boozier–splash as Drunk Uncle’s brother in law, “Peter Drunklage”.
Game of Thrones is returning to HBO this Sunday night and we couldn’t be more excited to go back to Westeros and back to the action, intrigue and sexy, sexy people. With so many characters occupying the world of Game of Thrones, it doesn’t matter whether you’re into regal beauties or murderous burn-scarred giants or adorable ingenues or creepy people without balls. There’s someone for everyone!
But what does your Game of Thrones crush say about you?
The return of Mad Men is so close we can smell it, and it smells like Lucky Strikes and Canadian Club. The record busting series has made its stars Jon Hamm, January Jones, Christina Hendricks and Elisabeth Moss the hottest names in television. But the show also features some already-familiar faces. Community‘s Alison Brie has a recurring role as Trudy Campbell, while former House regular Anne Dudek often appears as Betty Draper’s gossipy neighbor Francine. Tom Hanks‘ son Colin, The Nanny star Charles Shaughnessy, and even Secret World of Alex Mack actress Larisa Oleynik are among the many who’ve taken smaller roles on the series over the years.
Over the winter we heard mutterings that 1960s icon Paul McCartney would be putting in a guest appearance on the retro-show this season. Devastatingly it never happened, but we’ve put together a few suggestions for cameos that we know would bring down the house. Despite being up against super talented and perhaps just-as-worthy candidates in their respective categories at the Emmy Awards tonight, each of the winners pictured below won fair and square (to the best of our potentially naive knowledge). And yet, when photographed in the press room with their just-nabbed golden trophy, Melissa McCarthy, Peter Dinklage, Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen (among others) rocked faces of guilt, sneakiness, and paranoia.
