Damn! The Duchess is hitting it out of the ball park with her wardrobe choices. We posted about the first slew of Kate Middleton‘s outfits a couple of days ago at the start of her North American tour with her husband, Prince William. The majority of you voted that you loved all three of her outfits. And since we love us some fascinators, we were pretty fascinated with Kate’s whimsical maple leaf hat next! Especially when matched with that cream Reiss Nanette dress.
The next lot of outfits kept up her winning run. The picture on the left is her in Issa London again. The purple dress and maple leaf brooch are both to die for, and she wore them to the end-of-day Canada Day celebrations. In the middle we have a grey Kensington dress by late designer, Catherine Walker, who passed away last year from cancer. Check out the amazing detailing on it! Princess Diana was a huge fan of Walker’s, and Carole Middleton – Kate’s mum – wore the label at the Royal Wedding as well. Kate wore the dress on their third day in Canada which started with a tree plating session at Ottawa’s Rideau Hall. Here’s the weepy part — they planted a tree next to the one William’s parents planted when they visited (it was also his first birthday). The last dress on the right is a lovely Erdem dress again, this time, for a visit to Quebec City. It’s a navy blue, lace overlay navy Jacquenta dress from his pre-fall 2011 collection.
Look at the gallery below for more pictures. We’ve also included some adorable ones of Kate and William dressed up in chef’s coats for a visit to Institut de tourisme et hôtellerie du Quebec in Montreal where they actually took part in a cooking class! As always, we’re going to ask you which of her three outfits you like best.
They’re here! Well, by here, we mean Canada but we’re at least on the same continent! Duchess Kate and her husband Prince William (or The Duke of Cambridge) landed yesterday to begin their tour of the country. While everyone’s super excited about their visit, what everyone’s really psyched about is what Kate will wear! And just like Michelle Obama, Kate has her own website that chronicles all her outfits called What Kate Wore. They’re really going to have to be on it, because our lovely Duchess has already had three wardrobe changes in one day.
First up — as you can see from the picture on the left — Kate wore a Manon dress by Roland Mouret for their flight to Canada. She paired it off with a navy jacket by Smythe, Manolo Blahnik Calogera heels and a Mulberry Polly Push Lock bag. Gorgeous! For the official welcoming ceremony to Canda, Kate emerged from the plane wearing the Cecile dress by Canadian designer Erdem Moralioglu. It’s the lovely lace overlay in the middle. That’s quite a smart diplomatic move! Then for a barbecue honoring youth volunteers, which you can see on the right, Kate wore a bird print dress by Issa. It’s the same one Kate wore the night before she married William! So far, it’s a big win because we love all three dresses. What you’re favorite look of the three?
By now, you’ve probably guessed we’re rabid Prince Harry fans. And we know there are more of you out there. Come out and play with us! And by that we mean join us in drooling over Harry’s incredibly chiseled body. The younger prince pranced about in an undershirt after playing polo at The Sentebale Polo Cup Final at Coworth Park in Berkshire, England on Sunday. He was playing against his brother Prince William, minus the plumed hat, of course. We couldn’t resist showing you the pictures of the ensuing sexiness. Can you blame us?
Apparently, Harry’s been working out on the treadmill at London’s KX gym, so we suggest you find that gym and sign up, pronto. It’s been paying off because look how ripped he is? Nothing like a Harry montage to brighten up your day. If you’re a sister from another mister, then go ahead and check him out in the gallery below.
One of the perks about being a part of the Royal Family is that you get to play dress up a lot of the time. They always have some parade this, some function that, and their wardrobes — and their headgear — have to keep up. A particular English quirk also happens to be the ever present fascinator. The Royal Wedding was a fine example of this fad.
The latest hat-off just happened Prince William and his new bride, Duchess Catherine Middleton at yesterday’s Order of the Garter service. The Queen, Prince William and other members of the Royal Family took part in the annual parade wearing plush blue velvet robes and spectacular (we say this while giggling) black velvet hats with white plumes. But does William pull it off? We think so! His wife, Catherine, wore a stunning Philip Treacy headpiece that complemented her grey dress and coat quite nicely. But who looks better? Can’t make up your mind about who wins this round? Look at our gallery for separate pictures of the two and then go ahead and vote!
A little after a month of tying the knot Prince (Duke) William and his Duchess Kate Catherine (neé Middleton) have already been thrown into the official meet-and-greet cycle. First up, the royal couple met the Obamas where Catherine’s outfit was widely publicized and promptly sold out.
Next up was their first official black tie event together, something we were waiting for because we needed to see the Duchess go glam! William and Kate attended a charity dinner yesterday — the 10th Annual Absolute Return for Kids gala — at Kensington Palace. The 900 guests paid a cool $16,000 to attend the fancy dinner with the royal duo, while Mark Ronson feted them with music! Catherine did not disappoint with the outfit, shimmering in a Jenny Packham gown with lots of Swarovski crystal detailing, with her glossy hair down. Works for us!
As if her Sara Burton wedding dress wasn’t gorgeous enough, Kate Middleton’s second gown, which the Duchess of Cambridge slipped into for their post wedding celebrations, was an equally beautiful Alexander McQueen gown with matching angora bolero. Because if you’re going to marry a prince, you might as well do it right. After the ceremony the newlyweds headed to Buckingham Palace, where the couple will celebrate their love at a party thrown by Prince Charles before retiring at the palace for the night. Meanwhile, we’ll be celebrating the death of all strapless wedding dresses (or so our upper arms hope).
Yeah we know, history was made in London today. But let’s look to Miami for a just a moment and gaze upon Nicole Richie‘s rock hard bikini bod, shall we? Good. The sexy socialite did what sexy socialites do best (well, post-rehab), and spent most of the day lounging poolside and making people think, “Wow, she had two kids?” Clearly the Tracey Anderson classes are working. Nicole was in Florida to host a trunk show for her Winter Kate fashion line, while husband Joel Madden is touring Europe with his band, Good Charlotte. Did Prince William book ‘em to secretly play his wedding reception? We have our suspicions…
So much has been written about Kate Middleton’s spectacular Sarah Burton wedding gown, but there’s one thing that truly unites stately monarchs and commoners alike: a bonkers hat or fascinator that would make Lady Gaga spin in her grave. (No, Lady Gaga’s not dead, but she seems like the type who would sleep in a grave just to be different.) Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice went for some serious height with their giant fascinators, while Posh Beckham kept it simple in a tiny black number. (Husband David Beckham arrived with a top hat in hand!)
So join us as we take a closer look at the headgear highlights of Prince William and Kate’s wedding! Just think of it as our wedding gift, guys. No need to thank us. Although a knighthood would be cool.
But what’s also really beautiful is that two families, royal and commoner, have become one. So to celebrate and commemorate the nuptials, we’ve put together a gallery of the Royals and the Middleton family at Westminster Abbey! From Pippa, James, Carole and Michael who looked so proud of their daughter and sister, Kate (loved that Sarah Burton dress!), to the royals led by a sunshine-yellow clad Queen Elizabeth II and her main man Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, they’re all in the photos below. Enjoy! [Photos: Getty Images]
We’re totally swept up in Royal Wedding fever (it may be because we’ve been up since 5AM EST with no coffee), and are totally enchanted by Will and Kate Catherine. The newlyweds look gorgeous, relaxed and so in love with each other. Check out these pics of them leaving Westminster Abbey and heading to Buckingham Palace, where they will kiss for the estimated 1.4 million Brits waiting outside!
