All the cool boys and girls wanted to be at the Prabal Gurung for Target launch at Pier 57 in New York city on Wednesday night. Prabal’s designs have flooded this site, in best-dressed and worst-dressed lists alike, so love his work or hate it, you can’t ignore it. How we wish we could’ve been at this one, because it sounds like so much fun. The entire space was transformed into a modern day carnival complete with merry-go-rounds, fortune tellers, food carts and other games. Of course a shopping area was allocated too! And the very dapper Ne-Yo, as you can see above, gave a surprise performance. Three of our favorite, way cool faces also showed up. Carey Mulligan, after ages, was seen. Sadly, we could not get on board woth her trench and peach blouson as it just looked out of place with the intense eye makeup and slicked back hair she had styled. Carey can do so much better. Rashida Jones chose a periwinkle ruffled blouse with a black placket and collar, styled with black slaccks and pumps by Alexander Wang — her only concession to something not Prabal Gurung. And providing our favorite look for the evening was Elizabeth Olsen, who looked effortlessly chic in a coral and aqua dress with black waistband complemented by black ankle booties and a black coat. The coat must’ve been flung off as she danced to Ne-Yo. The life. Sigh.

If you’re close enough to a computer to read this, you’ve obviously heard about the tragedy befallen the town of Newtown, Connecticut. Police have announced Adam Lanza as the suspected gunman; his mother was found dead inside the school. If only to distract yourself from the grim procession of new details (and the tears intermittently falling out of your eyes), we gathered celeb tweets for the survivors from everyone from Rihanna to Rashida Jones to Michael Moore. For more serious advice on how to cope with the tragedy, head over to MTV Act.
Are you the sort of person who scrolls down to see what shoes celebrities are wearing when you see an outfit that interests you? Then this is the list for you. Even if you aren’t a shoe fanatic, this is still a fun exercise, to be honest. We’ve compiled together our list of the top 25 most drool-worthy heels, platforms and boots spotted on celebrities in 2012. And to make it even more interesting, when you visit the gallery below, we’ve put pictures of the shoes first, with the celebrity reveal right after, so you can have a go at guessing who the gorgeous heel, platform, pump, bootie or boot belongs to! The caption on each celebrity reveal will also tell you what brand the shoe is and where and when it was worn. All our favourite celebrities are in there: Beyonce, Kristen Stewart, Emma Stone and a whole host more.
A couple of spoilers, though. We won’t tell you the color of the shoes so you can still have a guess when you look through the pictures. We adore Mila Kunis‘ Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle’ and Miley Cyrus‘ Jimmy Choo ‘Tippi” pumps, respectively. Bella Thorne‘s Miu Miu platform booties are to die for, as are Rooney Mara‘s YSL ‘Tribtoo’ slingbacks. Have a blast figuring out which is which. We wish you a happy and well-heeled rest of 2012!

The 2012 GQ Men Of The Year party was held at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. last night and as you can see above, the ladies took the black carpet quite seriously. Red means business and that’s the color a slew of stars decided to wear, as you can see above. And they all rocked red lipstick too, with the exception of Jenna Dewan who did a strong eye and neutral lip.She wore a tomato Amanda Wakeley dress with very sexy Christian Louboutin ankle-straps in the same shade. Brittany Snow wore a slinky vintage YSL dress with Jerome Rousseau heels. Then there was Rihanna who slayed them all in a very minimal strappy Calvin Klein mini dress and Manolo Blahnik sandals. Completing the red quartet was Jennie Garth and we don’t know who designed her peplum dress but it hugged every curve and made her look like a bombshell.
Monochrome didn’t fare as well as red sadly. Julianne Hough wore a Temperley London white suit that looked like something out of Saturday Night Fever. It also really needed to be hemmed as we couldn’t see her Brian Atwood shoes but at least her Roger Vivier gold clutch was cool. Rashida Jones — gorgeous woman that she is — got it all wrong by wearing a Marni top with a Band of Outsiders jacket, Giorgio Armani shorts, accessorizing with earrings by Dana Rebecca, Christian Louboutin shoes and bag, and rings and bangles by Crow’s Nest. It was just too much of a mish-mash and she looked squat, which she most definitely is not, due to those shorts. Diane Kruger went into weird avant garde territory by wearing a Cushnie et Ochs dress and Vanessa Bruno jacket which did not sit well, but her Jason Wu bag and Jimmy Choos were to die for. Cassie‘s Anthony Vaccarello gown looked like someone had a go at it with scissors but again, the Jimmy Choos were hot. Check out our gallery for all these looks along with all the other women who turned up. Favorites like Emily Vancamp (in a Reem Acra dress, and Brian Atwood heels,) Krysten Ritter (Dolce & Gabbana top and skirt) and Alessandra Ambrosio who was wearing a Sally LaPointe dress all made an appearance.

If you’ve looked at the last two posts — the trend-spotted and the worst-dressed list — about the Elle Women in Hollywood event, you’d know a best-list was en route. Only, it’s not. Because we can’t decide whether the ensembles these ladies wore were just plain cray or really chic, and we’re going to tell you why so that the final verdict is yours. Cate Blanchett, as usual pushes the envelope in this printed Proenza Schouler dress with Roger Vivier shoes and clutch and Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry. It’s not hard to see why we’re split between cray and chic. Does the whole outre outfit come together, or does the print clash, especially with the black Vivier shoes. We heart Emma Stone forever, and we’ve seen and loved those houndstooth Ferragamo heels before at the The Amazing Spider-Man press conference in Tokyo four months ago. But those intense bangs with the hot pink Valentino with the Peter Pan collar and cuffs — twee or werkin’ it? The steely Calvin Klein Sarah Jessica Parker wore begs the same questions. Is the architectural bodice — and you can say this with us now — cray-cray or chic?
The next lot has Kristen Wiig, Anna Kendrick and Jayma Mays. Kristen’s hair looks so shiny and healthy and we adore the green Calvin Klein dress on her, which is clearly, in the chic category. But do those clunky Nicholas Kirkwood platforms take the whole thing to cray-town? Anna’s black with gold embroidery strapless Badgley Mischka dress is ace, especially with that metallic Mulberry clutch and Brian Atwood pumps. But does the sheer paneling at the waist it take it ’80′s cray territory? Lastly, Jayma’s electric blue Alexandra Vidal dress is spot-on trend thanks to the peplum and the color goes wonderfully with her hair and coloring. That purple Rebecca Minkoff clutch is crazy cool too! But … do her multi-colored, bondage-like Brian Atwood sandals look a little cray to you? So much chic and so much crazy, our heads are spinning. Busy Philipps, Rashida Jones and Erika Christensen after the jump! Read more…
It’s been said that comedy isn’t pretty, but we’re about to prove them wrong. There’s a gang of lovely ladies hilariously hitting up the big screen this summer, and they look amazing as they do it! We hope you’ve been following our Summer Movie Preview, where we’ve brought you the best of this summer’s cinematic heroes, heroines and villains. But now it’s time to give you the rundown on the women who will make you laugh ’til you cry, or get thrown out of the theater.
First and foremost, we’re expecting huge comedy from What to Expect When You’re Expecting. The film boasts Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks and Anna Kendrick! Mila Kunis is already a comedy legend at the super young age of 28, and we can’t wait to see her she compete with a teddy bear for Mark Wahlberg’s affections in Ted. The greatly anticipated movie sees her collaborates with her Family Guy co-star Seth MacFarlane. Malin Akerman takes us way back to the ’80s as a reporter in Rock of Ages, while Helena Bonham Carter takes us back even further to the ’70s in her husband Tim Burton’s latest film, Dark Shadows.
The White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner has really become the hot ticket in town. We already know that Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan got invites, for which they were probably very thankful. Now if only they had dressed with gratitude. We’re definitely not saying that no effort went into putting their looks together. It was just all directed the wrong way for both of them. Lindsay’s black satin halter-necked gown and Kim’s heavy green satin version ended up looking tacky. Sorry, ladies, better luck next time. This was Kim’s second time at the event so she should’ve known what to expect. There were plenty of sartorial winners, though. Charlize Theron, as always, nailed it in an Emilio Pucci lace overlay column with Manolo Blahnik heels and a Judith Leiber clutch. Reese Witherspoon was glam in a black Monique Lhuillier gown and stunning turquoise and emerald drop earrings by Irene Neuwirth. Sofia Vergara and Anna Paquin wore black too, with Vergara picking a black textured brocade David Meister cocktail frock, and Paquin, a Hervé L. Leroux gown.
The list of celebrities is a bit of a roll call, but we’ll try to do justice. There was a fair amount of white that popped up. Claire Danes wore the color through an edgy Vivienne Westwood gown, Malin Akerman wore a slightly peachier version of the shade in a vintage Odicini Couture dress. Eva Longoria wore a shorter, Marchesa cocktail variety, while Ginnifer Goodwin wore a snowy H&M frou-frou long, layered number. The supermodels also picked that color with Irina Shayk looking terrific in a slinky wide-legged jumpsuit and Kate Upton who sadly, ended up looking frumpy in a frilled, lacklustre dress. Dakota Fanning and Zooey Deschanel wore textured pastels; the former with Prada and the latter with Oscar de la Renta. Going in the opposite direction with splashes of color were Elizabeth Banks in vermilion Antonio Berardi peplum gown, Rosario Dawson in an emerald Armani Prive very low-cut dress and Viola Davis in a deep orange Amsale sweeping number. We also loved Kate Hudson‘s sequined purple Jenny Packham gown.
Perhaps the only person who went really crazy with a print was Leslie Mann who picked a wildly floral one-shouldered, Naeem Khan gown. Another woman — who is kind of beyond celebrity — wore the same designer and totally showed up Mann, though. Michelle Obama picked a strapless jazzed-up printed Khan dress and rocked the hell out of everybody. See for yourself in our gallery below.
