On Anne Hathaway, how much do we love thee? Let us count the awesome quotes about weight you shared with Glamour. “I still feel the stress over ‘Am I thin enough? Am I too thin? Is my body the right shape?’” the Les Miserables actress admitted. “There’s an obsessive quality to it that I thought I would’ve grown out of by now. It’s an ongoing source of shame for me.” On an unrelated note, we love how Glamour didn’t sandblast Hathaway’s face into an unrecognizable doll mask like some Photoshop-happy magazines do. Well-played, you guys!

We’ve said before how much we’ve been enjoying the celebrity-lead discussion about weight recently, and our interest is even more piqued by Hathaway’s inclusion in our 20 Stars Who Took Their Bodies To Extremes For The Screen list. Basically what we’re saying is, Anne’s words lead us to collect our favorite brutally honest celeb quotes about weight. Some of them are uplifting, some of them are depressing, but all of them are a good reminder than famous people are just meat puppets like us. Meat puppets with great hair and nicer cars, but meat puppets none the less.
Okay, so Daniel Craig picked Rihanna over Beyonce to portray a future Bond girl in an interview because Riri is “dirtier.” First of all, duh. Second of all, Bey has probably already learned her lesson from acting across from Mr. Mike Myers in Goldmember. While we draw up a pitch for our RiRi-centric Skyfall sequel (Ugh, why did Denise Richards have to take the Bond girl name Dr. Christmas Jones? Ruin our plans, why don’t you?), peep our 5 fantasy picks for our Bond girls. (Other than Rihanna, of course.) (Duuuuuh.)
As we’ve fallen madly in love with Rebel Wilson over recent months — in a totally platonic, not stalkerish way, we swear — it’s been quite exciting to watch the rest of the world join us. The latest member of our Rebel fan club is Universal, which bought a yet-untitled comedy feature that the Pitch Perfect star will write, produce and star in, according to The Hollywood Reporter. We’re not sure how it will work into her schedule if ABC also picks up Wilson’s TV pilot, Super Fun Night, but we are sure that that one bouncer is definitely going to deny that once upon a time, he refused to let Rebel into her friend’s birthday party. Also, we really hope this movie involves singing and/or mermaid dancing.
All this Rebel love has prompted us to take a peek into the Internet to see what Rebel’s early career in Australia looked like. One of our favorite of the clips we found is actually this appearance on the Australian improv show Thank God You’re Here: Read more…
Rebel Wilson is doing her best to help us in our unofficial quest to write about her twice a day here at VH1 Celebrity. After doing her best Lady Gaga on The Tonight Show earlier this week, she’s back to promoting her rap alter ego, Rebelicious, whom we first met a few weeks ago on Bullett Media. And after firing her sister, Liberty, from her rap duo, she’s enlisted a couple of other talented ladies. On Tuesday, when 14-year-old actress Maude Apatow (yes, daughter of Judd and Leslie Mann) interviewed her for HelloGiggles.com, Rebel instructed her on the art of being a hype man, to adorable effect. And now this morning, we’ve been treated to a performance by Rebelicious and Ellen DeGeneres of Salt-N-Pepa’s “Shoop.”
Amazingly, it is Anna Kendrick, not Rebel, who does the bulk of the rapping in Pitch Perfect. Maybe her talents just went undiscovered until this press tour. Read more…
We’ve spent all of our spare time in the past couple of weeks obsessively Googling the Pitch Perfect cast, until it dawned on us that we could channel all this useless knowledge into an actual blog post. Thus, here we are, presenting you with the 10 very useful bits of surprising trivia you will definitely want to know after seeing Pitch Perfect.
We are not going to get over our obsession with Rebel Wilson anytime soon. After seeing her in Bridesmaids, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Bachelorette, Pitch Perfect and, of course, at the VMAs, we have an undying love for the Aussie funny lady. Which is why we were shocked to read her tweets from over the weekend. She was out with her Pitch Perfect co-stars celebrating the birthday of Anna Camp and apparently had trouble at the door of a club (we’re guessing this was at the second stop of the night, since she tweeted the above pic of her, Camp and Skylar Astin from the party earlier).
” ‘I’m so sorry I don’t look like a prostitute’ (did say that but not loud enough for the other slurs in line to hear),” she continued. “I think this bouncer thinks I’m a contest winner from the mid-west x.” Read more…
All it took was one look at Rebel Wilson‘s outfit at the Pitch Perfect press junket for me to instantly become obsessed with her. Her hair was perfectly coiffed, and she was dressed in a pink “R” varsity jacket, little velvet pirate slippers (like these) and massive name plate rings a guy in jail made her. I got really excited to dig into her various red carpet outfits of the past, and discovered that she seems to be really into classic glam with the occasional twist. Observe her elegant garnet number above – understated, pulled together and beautiful, with just a touch of bad-ass mixed in.
Check out 15 of her coolest looks in the gallery below – a couple are a little weird but most are seriously sleek, sweet and sometimes sexy. It’s evident that she approaches fashion with a serious eye as well as a sense of humor. And her best accessory? That insanely gorgeous smile.
Here’s the greatest thing we learned recently: Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson was in an a cappella group called Twelve Voice at her Christian high school. Amazing, right? The actress told us what it was like being part of Australia’s “dorkiest” singing troupe, in which she had to wear “peasant blouses and long velvet skirts.”
“There was no dancing, there was no cool choreography or cool songs when I sang a cappella,” she said. “We’d have to stand like this — we weren’t allowed to do any cool moves — and just sing church songs.”
She then blew our minds by singing us an example of the kind of tunes they got down to. A terrible song has never sounded so awesome.
“I thought a cappella was totally dorky, and then when I came to America and saw The Sing-Off, I though, ‘It’s pretty sweet,’” she said.
But if you really wand “pretty sweet,” you have to see Rebel as Fat Amy in Pitch Perfect, in which she handles singing her heart out and getting belted with burritos with grace.
Also, please check out Rebel’s amazing ring bling, which she told us was made for her by a guy in jail. Read more…
Who is out there making fun of Rebel Wilson and what is wrong with you? Do people honestly think they’re “adding to the conversation” by calling the Pitch Perfectstar “morbidly obese” on the Internet? According to Rebel’s Jenny Craig Australia campaign, it’s comments like those that compelled her start losing weight. “Of course I go on the internet all the time and look up what people say about you,” Rebel says in one of her videos. “One person wrote, ‘What’s her problem? Besides her morbid obesity?’ I read that and I was like…ugh. Like, it is really hurtful. When you read comments like that you think, ‘This is something I can fix. So I should probably fix it.’” Coincidentally, they’re also comments that make us want to shut down the internet and start civilization all over again from scratch. Who’s with us?
In her video journal for the weight loss company, the Bridesmaids actress reveals how she’s lost over 33 pounds, but hopes to drop much more. “I guess with being this size you kind of put yourself into the friend zone. You never think anyone will be attracted to you at this weight,” she admits. “So you don’t really go out.” So…filled…with…empathy…and…rage…In all honesty, we’re kind of torn about Rebel’s weight loss campaign. On one hand, it’s her life and her body. On the other hand, we want to imagine Rebel hanging out in that bikini pube shirt from the MTV VMAS 24/7, just laughing and not giving an eff what anyone thinks. On the other other hand (which we realize is actually the first hand again), we hope Rebel gets everything she wants in life, including never having to need “elasticized pants.” Just don’t wear pants at all, girl! We will support you in this!
So, are you going to propose to Rebel Wilson while you two are on some quiet, romantic weekend getaway, or are you going to go big with it and pop the question on, say, the Kiss Cam at a Dodgers game? On a related note, how would you get Rebel Wilson to go on a romantic weekend with you, seeing as how she doesn’t know you and you’re just some random person reading this blog post? We’re asking for…a friend. Yeah, that’s the ticket. While the continental United States was already half in love with Rebel Wilson after the Bachelorette star offered a bright moment of pure absurdity during last night’s tame VMAs, we’re all the way there with her self-interview for Bullett magazine, where her alter ego Rebelicious tosses gems like:
“I’m so hard I’m like an algebra equation. X plus 4 equals… me! Respect.”
“I’ve ’ad an entourage of midgets, worn a dress made completely out of blue cheese, and got my hair stuck in a go- kart… voluntarily”
“I’m currently researching for a new movie about an interviewer who goes undercover in the rap world only to discover that she herself might have what it takes to be a rap artist even though she’s white and her parents are preachers and her only friend in the world, a cat called Tishy, contracts feline AIDs. Costarring Channing Tatum.”
Thank god Channing Tatum already has a wife. That means we still have a chance! Not all of us, but maybe you, sir or ma’am!
