Malcolm Jamal Warner and Regina King seemed like a match made in ’80s child star heaven. But after two years, the actors have called it quits — breaking the hearts of The Cosby Show and 227 fans, everywhere (a moment of silence for NBC’s genius mid-Eighties prime-time lineup). Read more…
The 2012 BET Awards happened last night at the Shrine Auditorium in L.A, and as always, we’re here to give you the red carpet report. The fashion represented is a bit puzzling. Most of the ladies almost got it right. They were so close! Like Tatyana Ali, for instance. Her yellow-and-black ensemble would have been terrific on her, had it not been for that aggressive, vinyl-looking peplum. Or Taraji P. Henson, whose aqua colored dress was lovely, but the sparkly neckline made it look like she had fish scales. It’s hard to make Selita Ebanks look bad — her Falguni & Peacock dress was a knockout, but the sheer skirt made it look like her underpants were on display. Same with Kerry Washington. She always looks so elegant, but her nude, strapless Altuzzara top made us feel like she had forgotten to put something on, on top of her basque, and just ended up going out in her J. Mendel skirt. The bustier looks underwired within an inch of its life.
We also are ho-hum about Michelle Williams — of ex-Destiny’s Child fame. Nice lace dress, but reminiscent of a nightgown, much? Not fans of jumpsuits, either, and La La Vasquez‘s version didn’t fill us with joy. And why did LaurieAnn Gibson look like she had a onesie on? You catch our drift, right? This entire red carpet had some good picks, but each was undermined by some crazy detailing. Does that make it crazy good, or just plain crazy? You decide. Have a look at our gallery that has more looks including Willow Smith‘s, Chaka Khan‘s and Regina King‘s.

What a pretty, diverse red carpet this was yesterday. The 2012 Critics’ Choice Television Awards happened at the Beverly Hills Hotel, in L.A. and a lot of different styles and silhouettes were represented through all the fashion present. There was the dramatic, flowing gown courtesy Emmy Rossum‘s metallic Donna Karan number and Neil Lane jewelry. We had the sexy, plunging gown with Busy Phillips‘ Michael Kors black dress. Loved the use of turquoise accents through her Irene Neuwirth necklace and ring, as well. We had romantic, vintage looks with Zooey Deschanel‘s blood orange, full-skirted Oscar de la Renta dress and Alison Brie‘s ’40′s inspired frock, also by de la Renta.
Other best-dressed picks included Sarah Hyland‘s flirty, youthful frock by Collette Dinnigan, and her Modern Family co-star Ariel Winter, who looked just lovely in a white, tiered dress, also by the same designer. Coincidence, much? Lucy Liu‘s girly pale pink gown by Atelier Versace made quite an impression too. But, the sexiest look of the night, by far, goes to Julianne Moore who worked it in a black-and-white bodycon dress by Jason Wu. Her nude Walter Steiger strappy heels worked beautifully with her outfit as well. Special mention also goes to the very toned Regina King, who also wore blood orange like Zooey, but in a shorter, lacy Romona Keveza version. If your interest is piqued, then get thee to the gallery!

Ugly Betty may be coming to an end, but America Ferrera isn’t going away. The actress was at the premiere of her new film Our Family Wedding in NYC last night, along with co-stars Regina King, Forest Whitaker, Lance Gross, Charlie Murphy and Carlos Mencia. It shouldn’t be too long before she hits the carpet again—her How To Train Your Dragon comes out later this month.
