Rosamund Pike, the star of the highly anticipated film, Gone Girl, is about to get a lot of attention for her standout role as Amy Elliott Dunne, a disillusioned housewife who suddenly disappears on her fifth wedding anniversary. The part is one intense (and showy) role, and will surely stick with audiences well after the end credits stop rolling.
Gone Girl, one of the most anticipated films of 2014, is finally making its debut in theaters following what felt like years of hype. And thankfully, the movie about a woman who’s gone missing and the husband left to chase after her ghost lives up to every hyperbolic statement that has been said ahead of its release. Read more…
David Fincher‘s Gone Girl, adapted from the popular novel by Gillian Flynn, is one of the most anticipated films of 2014. With reports on potential plot changes and wild reactions to the film’s casting, fans have been following production from the start. But is the final product worthy of the hype?
We’re sorry we’ve been ignoring Fashion Week this time around. The shows in Paris are in full swing and we thought mid-week would be a nice time to do a little round-up. Because where there is couture, there are celebrities. All vying for front-row, of course. We’ve gathered the top six stars visiting, because they were either, super well-dressed or, stuck out like sore thumbs. We’re talking about you, Rita Ora. That’s what the singer wore to the Chanel Spring-Summer 2012 shows. With Alexander Wang leather lace up boots. Not particularly politically correct, Rita. Kim Kardashian decided to channel a very chic Parisienne at the Stephane Rolland show, while Jessica Alba‘s chic little outfit and bright coral lipstick made us smile at Christian Dior.
Rounding up this sartorial crew are Salma Hayek, Diane Kruger and Rosamund Pike. We’re in love with Salma’s Giambattista Valli Fall 2012 collection claret dress worn, where else, but to the Valli couture showing. Diane pushed the boundaries as usual at the Chanel showing, looking like a French schoolgirl, while Rosamund’s sunny smile and enviable boots were the talk of fashionistas at Dior. But who are you talking up? Whose fashion was smashin’? Let us know, folks!
It’s time for out next edition of fashion stories. We’ve done two rounds previously with Kristen Stewart, Alicia Keys, Liv Tyler and Taylor Swift, Jessica Biel and Justin Bieber respectively. We’re really excited about this lot too. The point of these posts is to link together various looks of celebrities around the globe in one day — ensembles that get us going. The first is Naomi Watts at the L.A. premiere of The Impossible. Naomi wore a stunning floral-print Zac Posen gown with Jimmy Choo shoes, J/Hadley earrings and a Jennifer Meyer ring and bracelet. The gown had a soft, draped back too, and she complemented the vintage silhouette with pin-curled ’40s hair. Next up is Jessica Stroup who surprised us with what she wore to the 7th Annual Charity: Ball Gala in New York City with a flowing, gauzy gold gown that was gathered at the waist. It was dramatic, appropriate and totally stunning. Lastly, we have British actress, Rosamund Pike in a bright yellow Alexander McQueen Spring 2013 gown at the world premiere of Jack Reacher held at the Odeon Leicester Square in London. How can you not love this look? And please have Rosamund on your radars because not only is she beautiful, but she was also hot enough to be a Bond girl for Pierce Brosnan, remember? She’s certainly dressed to kill in this gown! Which one’s your favorite look?
This one’s for all of you who enjoyed Sam Worthington‘s glowering turn as Perseus in Clash Of The Titans last year. The official trailer for the sequel — Wrath Of The Titans — is out and is scheduled to hit cinemas next year. All the usual suspects are in: Worthington, Ralph Fiennes and Liam Neeson, who now wants Perseus’ help ’cause dem Titans (who they believe to be “imprisoned forever”) are breaking free and they’re pissed! The eye candy in the movie is courtesy Rosamund Pike. As for Worthington, he’s still glowering but has longer, curlier hair which takes the edge off. Besides, the action and effects in this one look pretty insane. We’d put this in the ‘must watch’ pile.
You can check out the full list of BAFTA winners here, but let’s get down to the really important stuff: who rocked the red carpet? Can we just say right in the beginning that J.K Rowling, taking a page out of the House of Slytherin, and wearing a python-print Lanvin halter-necked gown totally surprised us! Ssss-izzling! Lucky Julianne Moore wore a midnight blue Tom Ford velvet gown with a gorgeous bow detail at the back. Ford was also Julianne’s date for the night! Other best dressed stars included Jessica Alba in a flowing Atelier Versace, and the always lovely Emma Watson in Valentino. Want to know who else made the list? You’ll just have to check out the gallery below.
