Charlize Theron has been spotted with Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane over the years. But Marianne Garvey tells The Gossip Table that things may be getting serious between the two. The ‘couple’ was recently seen getting quite cozy. Though, they are working on a new movie together so that could explain why they’ve been together so often.
Also working hard is Snooki. TGT has all the dish.
Did Farrah from Teen Mom just film a sex tape with James Deen? Are Seth MacFarlane and Charlize Theron now a “thing”? And what did Jessica Simpson‘s mom’s secret suicide note reportedly say? All this in today’s First Dibs.
Oscar host Seth MacFarlane did not, as he predicted during his opening monologue last night, wake up to any headlines this morning proclaiming him the Worst Oscar Host Ever. The creator of Family Guy and Ted DID earn himself a bit of backlash from Buzzfeed for his sorta sexist song “We Saw Your Boobs,” but many people who voted in our poll about his performance liked that he showed no fear in taking Hollywood’s A-List to task. Seth MacFarlane is one of the most divisive personalities in all of Hollywood. As the creator of Family Guy, American Dad, The Cleveland Show and this past summer’s blockbuster smash Ted, he’s earned himself millions of fans and hundreds of millions of dollars. However, many elitist-types turn their noses up at his brand of lowbrow humor and over-reliance on pop culture references. So, with that being said, what was YOUR reaction to his opening monologue as the host of 2013 Academy Awards: Is Seth MacFarlane a Douche or Genius? Take our poll below.
It’s just so rare to completely change our minds about a celebrity, but here we are in 2013…learning to love Seth MacFarlane. It’s not that we ever hated Seth MacFarlane, per say. It’s just with Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show informing the zeitgeist for the past 14 years, we had long ago suffered from an acute case of McFarlane Overload (Main symptom: extreme nausea and diarrhea upon hearing a Stewie impression.) But despite all of our male cousins quoting everything Seth has ever written since 1999, we realized something as we watched MacFarlane’s first Oscar promo today. We realized we’re basically Seth MacFarlane fans now.
Lately we’ve been used to Kristen Stewart going all punk rocker chic at public events, but at this weekend’s Governor’s Awards in Los Angeles she reminded us just how glam she can get! K-Stew stunned as she donned a Talbot Runhoff high-waisted dress with a scooped black and white lace neckline. She completed the haute-couture look with some killer Christian Louboutin pumps, but her messily tousled hair gave a small nod to her more casual side. We’d expect nothing less from Kristen! Sadly Robert Pattinson wasn’t by her side at the Hollywood & Highland Center for the 4th annual awards show, but we’re pretty sure she wasn’t lonely. Tons of other big names also attended, including Amy Adams, Helen Hunt, Judd Apatow, Bradley Cooper, Will Smith, and this year’s Oscar host Seth MacFarlane. See who was there (and what they wore) in the gallery below!
Hope you guys have room in your brain-stomachs for more Seth MacFarlane! After hosting this fall’s SNL season premiere and dating the Kahleesi, the Family Guy creator has just been announced as the new host of the 2013 Oscars. We were a little hesitant to sign on for another heaping helping of Seth, but the exceedingly sweet announcement video MacFarlane made with his bathing suit-obsessed dad has our hopes up: “I wore them only once and I had underwear underneath there, so nothing of important ever touched the mesh.” Victory is his!
Additionally, we also know Seth can really sing, based on his album of pop standards, a requirement for memorable Oscar hosts. That being said, let’s get down to brass tacks here, people: Seth MacFarlane is going to voice some of his characters on stage at the Oscars. You know it, we know it, the American people know it, and as a collective group that has been listening to Family Guy jokes since 1999, we’d like to cast our votes as to which MacFarlane characters we would be delighted to have at the Academy Awards…and which will turned away at the door. Hmmm, we guess we’ll have to have Seth draw and voice the security guards too…man, there is so much to get done before February 24!
Then it seems…well, not normal. Less weird, let’s say. We thought the gossip about Seth MacFarlane romancing Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke was exceedingly rando (Would Stewie date Khaleesi in anything but fan fiction written by the saddest perv in the world?), but then we went to add them to our 20 WTF Celebrity Couples List and realized Seth was already on there…with former flame Amanda Bynes. There is nothing more random than Seth MacFarlane dating Amanda Bynes! Allegedly dating! Although…we guess Amanda did at least guest star on Family Guy. The Emilia Clarke thing is even more out of the blue! On a semi-related note, couples like these are why the 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon game actually works.
Interestingly enough, the photo above is a snapshot of Seth and Emilia hanging out at a Playboy True Blood event back in July. Could that have been the night they met? If so, we really can’t blame Clarke’s Game of Thrones costar Alfie Allen for leering at them like a weirdo; we would have done the exact same thing. Also interesting is how Seth seems to be sticking pretty hard to the whole “13 year age difference” thing when choosing romantic partners. Bynes was 21 when they allegedly started dated back in 2008; Clarke is currently 25. Now, just to be clear, we are not saying dating Seth MacFarlane will eventually lead to Emilia Clarke to drive aimlessly around L.A. or hiding in a dressing room for hours at a time. No one is saying that at all. On a semi-related note, if we ever find out Amanda Bynes is dating Jason Momoa, we will literally die.
Ryan Lochte already owned a tiny, horny piece of our heart after blowing up at the 2012 Olympics. Now we love him even more for being a real sport about Seth MacFarlane’s highly unflattering impression of him on SNL this weekend. “Well I gotta admit that was a pretty harsh one, but it’s cool to have Seth parody me,” Ryan admitted to Celebuzz. “I think he pegged me wrong, but when I heard he did a skit I knew I was in for it!” If it sounds like Ryan isn’t exactly thrilled with the impression, check out the Family Guy creator’s Lochte steez after the jump. Who would be excited about being portrayed as a drooling, mumbly jock with baby bangs? If we were Ryan, we’d never leave the pool! You know, so no one could see our tears?
Maybe it’s all those OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALS that make Ryan a bigger person than we. “It’s all in fun and of course if I’m talked about on SNL I know they are gonna get me ‘Go-od,’” Ryan joked. Overall, Lochte declared, “I give Seth two swims!” Oh man, that’s like a thousand thumbs up! On a related note, why do they give all the good lines on Animal Hospital to the monkey? That doesn’t seem particularly fair…
Kiss your childhoods goodbye, anyone who was born after 1950 and before 1990! There as apparently both a new Flintstones TV show and a new Garbage Pail Kids movie currently in the works. You know, like you’ve been begging for! “It’s still in the early stages — I’m finishing a rewrite on the pilot,” Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane said of his take on the modern Stone Age family at SXSW this weekend. “We’re trying to, essentially, stay true to what that show is. There’s something cool to me about, in 2013, turning on your TV and seeing The Flintstones and having it look like The Flintstones…We kinda want to keep it, more or less, the same. The stories that we tell will be a little more current.” What a thorough explanation, Seth! We guess we only have one question about your decision to redo a classic then: WHYYYYYYYYYY?
Meanwhile, Deadline reports that a Garbage Pail Kids feature film, based on the deeply disturbing Topps trading card set, is now in development. Do children even know who the Garbage Pail Kids are anymore? Does anyone remember how terrifying they are? Plus, there already was a Garbage Pail Kids movie, released in 1987! It was a live-action musical! And the Kids are aliens! Who end up sewing clothes for a fashion show! We have to go get our crazy pill prescription refilled, because we’ve taken all of them. What do you think of the proposed reboots?
