Brandy, Sofia Vergara Other Stars Show Off Their Fab Beach Vacations While We Freeze

Brandy, Sofia Vergara, Jennifer Aniston and other stars have more fabulous vacations than you this winter.

We’re not suggesting they’re doing this on purpose, mind you, but yeah, sometimes it’s a little too obvious that the rich and beautiful have wayyyy better holidays than we do. We’re stuck freezing our butts off at home, or numbing our butts off as we wait in airports going to and from relatives’ homes, while they’re showing off their perfectly toned butts in tiny bikinis in Hawaii. OK, rant off. Kelly Clarkson And Kat Von D Get Engaged: Time For Another Round Of Guess The Celeb Rock!

Everyone knows that the holiday season is one of the most romantic times of the entire year. We blame Love Actually. And now it looks like Christmas came early for famous ladies like Kelly Clarkson, Crystal Harris and Kat Von D as their beaus got them all a pretty sweet gift: An engagement ring! The trio all took to Twitter to give fans a glimpse of their new rocks. American Idol alum Clarkson flashed her bling backstage at VH1 DIVAs after boyfriend Brandon Blackstock popped the question over the weekend.

Top DJ Deadmau5 took the opposite approach and actually proposed to girlfriend Kat Von D on Twitter this Saturday! The on again off again couple reunited in November after breaking up in September, so we’ll see if the notoriously tempestuous two-some make it to the alter. But we saved our biggest reservations for Crystal Harris, who showed off her second engagement ring from Hugh Hefner last week. Why second, you ask? Because she sold her first one after she left the 86-year-old at the alter last year. Ooof. Good luck, you crazy kids. Ellen DeGeneres’ Sofia Vergara Costume Will Rescue Halloween

While we understand the decision, we were sorely disappointed this morning to learn that the Today show had canceled their tradition of having all their hosts dress up as other famous folks for Halloween. That on top of the fact that New York’s annual Village Halloween Parade has, um, dampened our already soggy spirits. So, thank you, Ellen DeGeneres, for brightening up our day with your Sofia Vergara costume and terrible, terrible Colombian accent.

We have a feeling that unlike the buttoned up and glamorous stars at the Oscars — who continue quite properly to the Vanity Fair afterparty — the TV actors who attend the Emmys can’t freaking wait until after the telecast is over, so they can let loose and act more like themselves. And for proof, we need look no further than the hilarious photos taken last night. From the presenters’ gifting suite, where Glenn Close killed us with the above bikini cut-out, to the winners step-and-repeat, where Louis C.K. turned his Emmys into action figures, to the various afterparties, stars could not stop hamming it up. We had to be judicious and not make half of this gallery pictures of Julie Bowen having the time of her life, but trust us, the two you’ll see below are perfect representations. And you know how actors and musicians laugh at regular people’s notions that all famous people know each other? They’re lying. They really are all the best of friends. We can just tell.

Modern Family star Sofia Vergara had already made America’s collective eyes bulge out of its head like a cartoon wolf yesterday, hitting the Emmys red carpet in an amazing, skin-tight, amazingly skin-tight sequined teal Zuhair Murad gown. So why not tweet a photo of her bare behind for good measure? Go big or go home, we always say…about posting pictures of your own butt! “Yes!!!! This happend 20 min before we won!!!! Jajajajja. I luv my life!!!!” Vergara tweeted after last night’s show, along with a photo of her dress’s extremely necessary zipper down for the count. Sofia then went on to post a host of afterparty pictures. See, if we did that, it would be a sign we getting drunk to forget how we posted a photo of our horrible, horrible buns to Instagram. For Sofia, however…it feels like a victory lap. It really, really does.

Now, we’re not saying that self-flashing photos are reserved for the famous and toned. Personally we feel everyone should feel free to plaster their butt all over the social media of their chosing. But we wouldn’t be keeping it real if we didn’t take a moment to acknowledge that Sofia has clearly been putting in the gym hours necessary to have a pantsless photo she can truly be proud of. The only thing hotter than the weather this sweltering July was our Twitter feed! Celebrities of every stripe were tweeting teasingly scandalous photos that were not always safe for work (unless you work for VH1 Celebrity, in which case, it’s cool). It seemed like there were more super sexy skin-filled Twitpics in July than in the rest of 2012 combined! Maybe it’s global warming?

Selena Gomez modeled a selection from her new bikini style line, while Adrianne Curry modeled her BDSM-inspired Comic-Con outfits. Rihanna tweeted so many sun-drenched photos from her never-ending Mediterranean vacation that we’re starting to imagine that we were there. Some celebs, like Aubrey O’Day, Heidi Klum and, of course, Coco, tweeted up-close and personal pics of their favorite body parts (spoiler alert, it was usually boobs or butts) and reps from the Kardashian Klan went more for the full body shots. The Spears sisters both weighed in with bangin’ bikini shots of their own, and High School Musical soul sisters Ashley Tisdale and Vanessa Hudgens did the same.

We had hot moms like Jada Pinkett-Smith, Sofia Vergara, Vanessa Minnillo and Jessica Alba. And Kris Humphries’ rumored GF Myla Sinanaj shared a pic to prove she’s gonna be a hot mom in the near future. And of course models like Candice Swanepoel, Bar Refaeli and Tyra Banks turned even the most humble Instagrams into glam shots worthy of GQ and beyond. Sofia Vergara looks smoking on the cover of next month’s Vanity Fair Spain, doesn’t she? Oh, sorry, we meant to type “is smoking.” We meant to type “is smoking” and also “baaaaaaaaaarf!” What is up with that lit cigarette, Sofia? What is this, the ’40s? Frankly we’re surprised the Modern Family star agreed to be photographed holding a cancer stick (or, you know, have it Photoshopped into her hand), seeing as how she stars on a wholesome family program and smoking gives you mouth ulcers and death. Is that what you want us to associate with you, Vanity Fair Spain? Because we will do it! You know we will!

Personally, we don’t get what’s wrong with just looking incredible and having a hot body like Sofia does in her Vanity Fair photoshoot video below. Of course, those two things are made incredibly difficult to do by the constant stench of nicotine and two lungs filled with smoke. We’re not trying to be Sofia’s mom here; is her mom this up-to-date on Rihanna’s 17 tattoos? No. We’re just saying that smoking makes your teeth turn into corn kernels and your organs die. And we don’t want Sophia Vergara’s organs to die! We will not stand for it!

Sofia Vergara Shows Us What’s So Funny About The Hunger Games

We’ve been worried sick about the news that Gary Ross and Lionsgate are still on the fence about whether the director will return for The Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire. (Negotiations are ongoing as of Monday, we hear.) Would anyone else be able to nail the tone of this story the way he did? But now, we’ve decided not to fret, thanks to Sofia Vergara and Saturday Night Live, who showed us what the movie would be like in the hands of someone, well, less reverent.

In a pink Effie Trinket wig, Vergara shimmied, laughed and gave a great Univision-worthy yell as the Capitol’s newest Hunger Games correspondent, Maria Gutierrez, reporting live from the arena and enjoying herself immensely as the kids stab each other nearby. And in the studio, Bill Hader and Fred Armisen yukked it up as Claudius and Caesar, echoing a number of silly sports news show SNL’s done over the years.
