As we gear up for the release of Rock of Ages this week, we’ve been looking back at some of the trends the nostalgic musical so lovingly celebrates, like Malin Akerman’s sexy rocker-chick look and Mary J. Blige’s flashy jumpsuits. More than any one fashion, the movie reminds us of one big trend the late ’80s and early ’90s were famous for: the groupie. Not just the girls who flashed their goods from the audience or hung around by the tour buses, either — there were plenty of high-profile ladies who were eager for a backstage pass. And some of them got a lot more than a private concert in the bargain.
As we gathered this list of our favorite celebrity-rocker pairs, from Cher and Gene Simmons to Tommy Lee and Heather Locklear, one other thing became very evident: All of these couples seemed to share taste in makeup, tight pants, big hair and baggy blazers. It even looks like Eddie Van Halen and Valerie Bertinelli got their hair cut together. And maybe Rod Stewart and Rachel Hunter could swap blazers, while Axl Rose and Stephanie Seymour traded acid-washed jeans. We’re not sure what exactly Melissa Gilbert and Billy Idol had in common, but, yeah, that happened!

Okay, not every single sitcom actress was there, but some of our most favorite TV ladies did show up to the premiere of Hot In Cleveland. George Costanza’s mother, Estelle Harris, showed up, as did Arrested Development‘s Lucille Bluth, otherwise known as Jessica Walter. In the non-biological-mother category, famous nanny Fran Drescher also stopped by. While many of these actresses actually have guest roles on the TV Land series, others were just there to lend support. It’s pretty awesome seeing these actresses all together like this, it’s like reliving our childhood. Check out all the TV moms, child-care providers, sisters and Golden Girls in the gallery below.

Eddie Van Halen wed his longtime girlfriend Janie Liszewski on the grounds of his seven-acre home on Saturday night. The bride walked down the aisle to Van Halen’s “When It’s Love” and Eddie’s 18-year-old son Wolfgang gave him away.
Eddie’s ex Valerie Bertinelli, whom he divorced after 25 years, was among the hundred plus guests who attended the ceremony. But this was no hard rocking party. Non-alcoholic beverages were served from a Lemonade bar in honor of Eddie’s year and a half of sobriety and there was also a candy bar that featured pop rocks, wax lips, candy necklaces, and lemonheads.
In 1982, young actress Valerie Bertinelli starred on the hit TV show One Day At A Time. Twenty years later, veteran comedian George Lopez got his own sitcom, The George Lopez Show. Both stars were born on April 23rd. Which one is older?
