UNIVERSAL CITY, California — Ben Stiller was honored by the likes of Keifer Sutherland, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog and Zac Efron prior to accepting his MTV Generation Award at this year's Movie Awards, and he explained to MTV News just
where that idea came from.
"That was really fun," Stiller said. "We thought it was pretty funny at the Oscars this year when all the nominees were lauded by their peers in a serious way. We wanted to play around with that."
And even though he came to the show knowing he was going to win an award, that doesn't mean he was any less nervous about hitting the stage to accept it. "I'll always find a way to stress out about anything," he said. "If I won, if I'm thinking I'm going to win. If I don't think I'm going to win. I feel we had a nice balance [up there]."
He only had kind things to say about the men who honored him — for the most part. "Triumph, probably, I was the least impressed with," he said. "But Zac is the sweetest guy. Kiefer, for me, [was awesome]. I'm a huge '24' fan."
Stiller has some advice for any future Generation Award winners that may spring from the "Twilight" cast. "I feel like the 'Twilight' stars ... I just want them to have something to eat," he said. "I just want them to have a bite. It's blood and gothic."
