Oddly enough, the thought of girls ogling shirtless photos of him embarrasses Taylor Lautner more than admitting his love of "The Notebook."
The "Twilight" star, who famously
buffed up for his role as werewolf Jacob Black in "New Moon" and "Eclipse," told BoxOffice.com that it's "weird" when his family sees the topless pics taken to promote the upcoming films.
"It's embarrassing for me," he said. "And I'm sure it's awkward for all of them. I'm hoping that [I don't get teased by my family] because I'll start blushing."
The 17-year-old has little shame, however, when it comes to his love of a certain chick flick. Asked what movie he's embarrassed to admit to loving, he responded, " 'The Notebook.' I don't think I should be embarrassed to admit it though — it's a great movie," he said. "I'm not embarrassed. I'm saying it proudly."
Lautner said he would love to have a career in which he could do both action films and romantic comedies, and he's well on that path with his role opposite Taylor Swift in "Valentine's Day."
"I was so glad I got to do ['Valentine's Day'] before I went back and filmed 'Eclipse,' " he told the site. "Working with [director] Garry Marshall — that's a once-in-a-lifetime thing. It was a lot of fun, and I can't wait to see it when it comes out in February."
As for the future of the "Twilight" franchise, Lautner isn't sure about how he'll tackle the tricky developments in Jacob's life that happen in the fourth book, "Breaking Dawn."
"I'm sure it would be different. It was definitely a surprise for me when I read the book," he said. "But we're just trying to take it one movie at a time, and nothing's been confirmed yet on the fourth, so we're just staying focused on 'Eclipse' at the moment."
