My Husband the Rock Star
A lot of us would probably balk at marrying a rock star. All that guitar strumming and late-night partying might be fun for a while, but then there's the endless tours and smelly drummers to contend with. That, however, hasn't stopped many of Hollywood's finest from making their teenage fantasies come true and snagging themselves a genuine metal god. Some relationships, like

Skeleton Key star Kate Hudson's marriage to Chris Robinson, work. Some, like anything involving Tommy Lee, have a bumpier ride. Here's a look at what happens when movie and music's A-listers try to put up with each other.

  • Cameron Diaz & Justin Timberlake
Aging stars like Harrison Ford and Michael Douglas are often accused of robbing the cradle. Diaz went straight for the Mickey Mouse Club, hooking up with an 'N Sync star 11 years her junior. It's been a star-crossed union. They postponed their nuptials so Timbo could convince his mom he was ready for marriage. Since then they've been too busy rumbling with photographers and suing tabloids to walk down the aisle.

  • Kate Hudson & Chris Robinson
It seemed like Almost Famous star Hudson had taken Method acting too far when she fell for Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson. They married on New Year's Eve 2000 and have been going strong ever since. Robinson summed up their love in the song "Katie Dear": "I watch her sleeping/ With dreams in her mind/ Her heart is beating/ In perfect time with mine." Anyone got a hanky?

  • Renée Zellweger & Kenny Chesney
    Remember how she
added and lost the pounds for Bridget Jones? The actress applied the same single-mindedness to scoring herself a musician. First she stepped out with waifish Irish songwriter Damien Rice. No go. Then she dated The White Stripes' Jack White - that didn't take either. In May 2005, Zellweger got her man, marrying C&W star Kenny Chesney five months after meeting him at a tsunami benefit. Sadly, four months their doomed marriage was just another country song title.

  • Pamela Anderson & Tommy Lee
She has a chest that could launch a thousand ships. It's also been the pillow for a thousand rock stars. The bodacious Baywatch bombshell has been arm-candy for both Poison's Bret Michaels and Kid Rock. But her true love is Mötley Crüe drummer Lee. Their off-again, on-again relationship has included allegations of abuse, hepatitis infection and "you're so rad" sex videos. A romance for the ages.

  • Heather Locklear & Richie Sambora
Before Pammy, there was Heather. Back when she was just a young T.J. Hooker fan's fantasy, Locklear married Tommy Lee. Nikki Sixx wrote Dr. Feelgood's "Without You" about their relationship, but it wasn't to last. A year after splitting with the Mötley Crüe drummer in 1993, she got hitched to Sambora. Locklear and the Bon Jovi guitarist have been happily married ever since.

  • Gwyneth Paltrow & Chris Martin
Stephen Spielberg's god-daughter first met rock's nicest man backstage at a show by his band Coldplay. They were married at the Santa Barbara County courthouse just days after Paltrow announced she was pregnant. The couple has a thing for funny names: they called their daughter Apple, and Martin wrote a song about Paltrow titled ... "Moses."

  • Johnny Depp & Vanessa Paradis
The Ninth Gate is definitely a must-miss movie, but the unwatchable supernatural thriller bears the distinction of being where wild man Depp met French singer/starlet Vanessa Paradis. He and the "Joe le Taxi" hit-maker (who once cut an album with Lenny Kravitz) have been happily united since 1998. Vanessa pouted, "We both had pasts, but when we met each other we just knew."

  • Liv Tyler & Royston Langdon
Royston who? Those with long memories will remember Langdon as singer/bassist with '90s alt.rockers Spacehog. Those with tragic record collections might even have a copy of The Hogyssey, the album for which actress Liv was his muse. Tyler continues to provide the inspiration for Langdon's new band The Tender Trio, whose website could use a little help.

  • Melissa Etheridge & Tammy Lynn Michaels
Stints on Popular and Committed do not a real star make, but we submit this chick rocker-chick TV blonde match-up for your approval in the interests of variety. They've been together since 2001 and even swapped vows in 2003. Too bad California doesn't recognize same-sex marriages. Learn more about their domestic bliss on Etheridge's song "When You Find the One."

  • Michael Bolton & others In his early 1990s heyday, Bolton asked a big question: how can we be lovers if we can't be friends? This level of romantic insight has endeared the mulleted balladeer to a host of actresses. Since divorcing his wife of 15 years in 1990, he's squired Ashley Judd as well as Nicollette Sheridan and Teri Hatcher. His ears must burn every time the Desperate Housewife stars take a lunch break.

  • Adam Duritz & others
Like Michael Bolton, Duritz has a golden voice, awful haircut, and something that musician-hungry actresses find appealing. As well as the inevitable romance with Winona Ryder, Duritz has dated Friends stars Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox. Duritz is close-lipped about which lady inspired which Counting Crows songs, but it's generally accepted 1996's "Monkey" is about the future Mrs. Arquette.

  • Winona Ryder & everyone
The light-fingered thinking man's pin-up is Hollywood's answer to Almost Famous' Penny Lane. Among the rock stars she's been linked with: Conor Oberst, Ryan Adams, Beck, Evan Dando, Jakob Dylan, Dave Grohl, Chris Isaak, Soul Asylum's Dave Pirner and Paul Westerberg. She's even had songs written about her by Michael Penn and Primus. Poor Michael Bolton is probably wondering where he went wrong.
